Purchase with caution if using online
Ordered four items on line as I love their womenswear. One item turned up no problem, three other items were despatched by Evri and never received. Ordered mid June 2026, Evri tracking shows June and it’s now mid July. Have tried to call three times to get a refund, ringing for 30 mins with no pick up. Then tried their “chat” service, three times, never got connected after waiting for 20 mins. Always receiving a generic reply, Assistant will be with you. Chat finally dropped the connection. Then tried e mail three times, using their contact us form. Still no reply, with e mail being returned “ is this address correct” it’s the only e mail address I could use as it was supplied by them. I just want my refund back for £187. For goods not received. Unable to trace through Evri as they just refer you back to the retailer.
Will have to go for chargeback through bank. It all sounds very suspicious, and I wonder if this company is having problems and maybe going through receivership or administration. Whatever, I shan’t be ordering from them again, even though they still are advertising on line.
Personally I advise customers to proceed with caution. It’s a shame as their clothes are really good quality.

Great shopping experience
Visited Hobbs on George street Edinburgh with my mum today both looking for a wedding outfit . Shop had a great selection especially for petite .The staff were all very helpful from taking an arm full of dresses off me to hang up in the changing room to Rose running up and down the stairs to get different sizes and getting us accessories to go with our dresses. We were very pleased with the service Rose gave us from start to finish. Would definitely recommend Hobbs for their service and selection.

Six men in the changing room!
I visited the Leadenhall Market shop on July 13th.
I was trying on some items in the shops dressed room (in the basement) when a door opened and a bunch of men doing some sort of building survey walked through.
I was fully clothed - but this was in a dressing area.
There was a member of staff with the guys and I feel she should have checked before letting them wonder through.
I did feel a bit vulnerable and uncomfortable with the unexpected presence of half a dozen men in what I would expect to be a women only area.

Horrible Customer Service Efficiency
I have been trying to contact the customer service team since 9:00 a.m. to report the urgent issue of my stolen parcel. I've tried every available channel, including the phone line, live chat, and WhatsApp, but I have been unable to reach anyone for assistance.
The lack of support for urgent matters is extremely disappointing. A customer service team should be able to respond queries, especially when customers are reporting time-sensitive issues. Based on this experience, the customer service has been frustratingly inaccessible and ineffective, making it very difficult to get help when it's needed most.

Buying a very feminine dress
I wanted to buy a new dress and I have always found Hobbs very trans friendly. I asked the sales assistant if the shop had several dresses I wanted to try on in my size and to my delight the dresses I selected were available. I tried them on and they were a perfect fit. I bought both dresses that I tried on. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful. I am delighted with my purchases and I have no doubts whatsoever that I will be visiting Hobbs Covent Garden again in the near future as I just love the styles and above all else the non-judgemental attitude of the sales team. Beautiful dresses and excellent customer care. An absolutely fantastic experience.

Appalling service
Appalling. I ordered a dress online on Saturday 11th July. Paid for next day delivery and it stated Monday arrival. No tracking info till late yesterday. Out for delivery today and now tracking says it’s in the Leeds depot of delivery company! I wanted this for a wedding tomorrow but it’s not going to arrive. Totally fuming. How can you charge premium prices for clothing and have such awful customer service? I will never shop with Hobbs again. Now I have to start trying to get a refund!

Terrible experience with Hobbs Customer Service
Ordered suits online for a family funeral in June as our local Hobbs store is now closed. All items were returned on the 19th of June as they were either unsuitable or arrived too late. Hobbs received all items on the 21/22 & 24th of June but I am still awaiting a refund!! I've contacted Hobbs by email and Whatsapp over the past week but no one is interested in getting back to me. All tracking numbers have been provided to Hobbs but still no refund. The Hobbs customer service telephone number is also closed no matter what time of day you try. Hugely disappointed with this as I've used Hobbs for years and always been happy with the service but this is unbelievably bad and I now just want my money back!!

Appalling Lack of Customer Service
I'm genuinely appalled by the level of customer service I've received from Hobbs.
I placed my order before 2 p.m. on 8 July and paid extra for next-day delivery, with an expected delivery date of 9 July. Today is 14 July. The dress has still not arrived, Evri's tracking has not been updated beyond saying they have the parcel, and the occasion I purchased it for has now passed.
The lack of customer service has been even more disappointing than the delayed delivery. For several days I've tried contacting Hobbs via live chat and WhatsApp, despite their customer service being advertised as available seven days a week. Not only have I received no response, but there hasn't even been a simple acknowledgement that my complaint has been received or that someone is looking into it. No apology, no update, no estimate of when I might hear back—just complete silence. It's as though neither I nor my complaint exists.
At this point, I genuinely don't know what else I'm supposed to do. If I continue to receive no response, I may have no option but to pursue a formal complaint and explore recovering the payment through my bank, as Hobbs has provided no information, no support, and no indication that anyone is investigating the issue.
It's astonishing that a premium retailer entrusts high-value orders to Evri, given their well-known reputation for delivery issues. Unfortunately, Hobbs' own handling of this situation has been just as disappointing.
I won't be ordering directly from Hobbs again. If I buy Hobbs in future, it will only be through a retailer such as John Lewis, where both delivery and customer service are demonstrably more reliable.
