Excellent Customer Service Provided By A Human Being
I have been a customer of names.co.uk (previously namesco) for many years. Whenever I have had an issue, normally due to a lack of understanding my end, I have found the staff to be exceedingly helpful, polite and understanding. It is such a relief in this day and age to be able to ring a Customer Service or Helpline number and to actually get to speak to a human being - and not only that - but with the added bonus that the human being is proactively helpful.

Awful company to deal with i spent at…
Awful company to deal with i spent at least 30 minutes this morning trying to get a IP ban becuase i was working in spain i called at 8.15 the website says available from 8 to be told support is not in until 9 i then ipointed this out and they were suddenly available then i was told the ban is lifted and to wait 15 mins i did and it kept happening called back waiting 15 min told i was being put through and phone went dead so wont be using these anymore

In terms of IP blocks generally, please note that some IPs can be blocked on a longer-term basis if they've been associated with fraudulent activity online. This is a security measure to help protect both our customers and the wider online community, so in some cases a block may not lift immediately even after a request is submitted.

I was unable to make some ammendments to my account online, I got straight through to somone when I calle dthe help number, which was clearly displayed on the webpage. Do not use
They quoted my domain renewal at £50 for a co.uk name.
CloudFlare charges £8.
To transfer it then they charged me an "admin" fee.
Their UI is in the stone age.
They also hijacked my domain whilst I was not using it, even after I'd removed their DNS record once.
Will never use again.
Technical users should use CloudFlare
Less technical folks - namecheap is fine.
Edit: CloudFlare's £8 is for two years, the same period names.co.uk were billing £50. Just adding this notice to address the objection in their reply.

Regarding pricing, context is really important here, renewal costs can vary depending on the length of the term being renewed (e.g. 1 year vs multi-year), so a direct comparison to another provider's per-year rate isn't always like-for-like. We'd be happy to go through the specifics of your renewal with you if you get in touch.
We're proud of our UI, and it's something many of our customers value, but we're always keen to improve, if you could reach out again with your account details, we'd welcome any specific recommendations you have.
On the point about DNS changes, we do keep a full audit trail of all activity on an account, and we'd be happy to share this with you so you can see exactly what happened and when.

Liveware beats AI
Four stars rather than five because it all started badly. But the end result was excellent, just like all my other dealings with Namesco have been.
I reported that suddenly my emails to Gmail users were failing to get through. The response was an AI-generated screed that told me far more than I ever wanted to know about email authentication, nameserver providers, DKIM and SPF. Eight paragraphs of it. I sent an expostulatory reply saying I was just a punter wishing to continue doing what I had been doing for years. This triggered an intervention from an actual Namesco person, who verified the nameserver aspects, asked for an example email, expertly diagnosed the problem and fixed it there and then. So all's well that ends well.
