The Hotel,Room, Food , Entertainment was Excellent..Dave our Driver was very good, on the journey ,both ways & of course on the excursions..Our Tour Manager Sharron did everything to make us all well informed & made sure we were all comfortable ..They are a Fantastic Team together.’& Insend my thanks to them , for doing a great job…

Never travelled with Grand UK Holidays before so not sure what to expect but the trip was fantastic and truly exceeded our expectations. Very reasonable pick up time and the journey there and back was comfortable and very well managed and the drivers were great, as was our tour manager. The hotel was very good and the staff friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent excellent quality with a good variety of dishes to choose from. Entertainment each night was great, especially the lady violinist and the visit to the local pantomime was a great piece of entertainment. Really could not fault anything so would highly recommend. Well done for providing a very enjoyable Christmas!

Excellent Christmas break in daventry could not be faulted. The only downside was the length of time spent waiting at Northampton services for ongoing coaches.

Hotel, bedroom, food and coach driver were all excellent. The tour manager couldn't do more for us. Great Christmas experience in Eastbourne.

Well organised and a lovely hotel and excursions. Pleasant drivers.
BUT we won't do a long trip with GrandUKHolidays again. We travelled over 10 hours each way from Essex to Darlington. We waited at the pick up point, Northampton? For 2-1/2 hours each way. We couldn't get refreshments as we didn't know when our coach would arrive. So, sorry but not again.

We were met by the coach on time. Very good coach drivers and holiday rep. Very nice hotel. Good food and excellent entertainment.

Lovely hotel with very pleasant staff.Very helpful to me as I am vegetarian and dairy intolerant.The speed our cases were delivered to our rooms was fantastic.The only problem was no drawers to put things and only 4 coat hangers but we managed. We would certainly go back again. Hope it is in your brochure for this New Year.Thank you for this holiday.

The hotel was great. Clean and spacious with modern decor. Delicious food and entertainment. Staff went the extra mile to ensure your comfort.

Home to the main picking up everything was perfect the drivers and assistant were incredible. The hotel exceptional in fact I had no complaints at all. Certainly will book this company again

I booked for An “4 Star Hilton Oxford Christmas” with Grand uk from 23 - 27 Dec 2024. It was horrendous - they hadn’t told us that it wasn’t the Hilton because a takeover had taken place 2 months before. No Christmas decorations in Dining Area and total chaos regarding food orders. No drinks could be ordered at the table so big queues at the bar. Food was below average except an attempt was made for Christmas dinner.
The biggest concern was there was no organisation relating to us being a majority of pensioners. We were dumped at Bicester for 3 hours wandering around looking at articles with thousands of pound tickets!!!
Would never go with them again - absolutely disgusted 😩😩😩💩on top of this I paid extra for a double room which I was told nobody else did??? Also advertised as 4star - what a load of rubbish !!!

Really awful Christmas break at Holiday Inn Newport. The hotel was not suited for a Christmas entertainment break, and everything from the food to the entertainment was absolutely terrible. The whole experience was completely missold to us and ended up ruining our Christmas.

The food was poor, with limited options, and the entertainment was non-existent, with only a piano performance on the last night before we left. There was nothing festive or enjoyable about the entire stay. We were left bored and disappointed throughout the holiday.

However, I must mention our tour guide, Sharon, and coach driver, Dave. They were absolutely fantastic and were the only redeeming factor of the trip. They went above and beyond to make the experience more bearable, organising activities like bingo with myself and even taking us to Cardiff earlier to ensure we didn’t spend the entire time just sitting in our room. Without their company and effort, this trip would have been unbearable. I would give them 5 stars!

We have submitted a formal complaint, and we will never book again. A very disappointing experience overall.

No Christmas atmosphere at Mercure Daventry. Business hotel. Dining room very gloomy with black table cloths and black covered chairs. Not at all festive. Very limited menu same soup three nights. Disappointing entertainment. Very loud music played all through dinner. Dreadful. Pantomime very disappointing just a local amateur performance.

Just returned from "Christmas" break at Crown Spa Scarborough, sadly no Christmas spirit from hotel nor tour operator. Food was poor, dinners lacking vegetables. Breakfast, crokeey and food always cold. Disorganised. Seating room changed without notice, with nothing set out. Tour manager should have informed us all. Room like an inferno even as heating off and windows open. Ceiling light/fan would come on without prompts at any time, 1am,2am. And 4 in the morning! Very strange. Perhaps tour manager/s should give more time to all and be activly involved daily to sort issues with Hotel. Hope of an enjoyable experience. As for pick up, then late 35 minutes collection and sham at interchange, for return again sham at interchange. Fortunately dropped off at correct stop as coach manager was to depart us sooner.

Just returned from Christmas in Cardiff staying at Mercure Hotel ( North)
Agree with other review it's a hotel for business travellers.
Room OK, not enough storage, couldn't get temperature right all week. Bathroom very cold

Food was below par and Christmas lunch was disgusting with soggy sliced turkey and beef gravy!!

I found most of the GUK staff both at head office and on the tour, disinterested in their customers and some very rude

Needless to say it was my first and last time with this company.

Recently returned from a 5 day Turkey and Tinsel break to Mold in North Wales .
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the food very tasty and plentiful.
The included excursions to Liverpool, Chester and Llangollen were enjoyable and interesting .
The holiday was made very special for all us passengers by our driver Marcus and tour guide Nathan who had never worked together before but were incredible, they both went over and above their required duties to make sure our holiday was one to remember . Nathan organised bingo and quizzes both on the coach and in the evenings after dinner in his own off duty time .
They both had a great sense of humour and we laughed so much with them over the 5 days.
We have travelled on a number of coach trips before but this one was undoubtedly the best ever !!

The transport was very good with a driver and tour manager making travelling comfortable.
The hotel was in good condition, our room was first class, with good food and great entertainment. We look forward to our next Grand UK trip, which is at Christmas.

The weather. The hotel. The company of other passengers and the driver and tour manager and the trips and evening entertainment.

Like the fact there is a courier and a driver plus handing over suitcase and you don't see them again until I your room.

The hotel was good the food was good. Not easy to access entertainment though as it was in different hotel.

My partner and I went on a coach holiday with Grand UK in September. It was the Road, Rail and Sail holiday to Cumbria/Lancashire.
We stayed at Foxfields Country Hotel, Billington for 4 nights. The hotel is pleasant and the food was good, however, we found a few issues with the cleanliness of the room. There were long dark hairs on the shower wall and I have never seen such a dirty extractor fan. When we wiped up excess water on the bathroom floor, the floor was very grubby. We did report the hairs to the reception as the heated radiator in the bathroom wasn’t working, but we removed the hairs ourselves and when we did report the radiator the receptionist said, there are several rooms with that problem! As we were in a coach party we sat together on long tables, packed in like sardines, once you got in, you couldn’t get out. It was so hot and an uncomfortable environment.
Grand UK offered us a trip to Kirby Lonsdale, a cruise on River Lune across the Aqueduct, neither of which we did, as the trips were changed, even the tour manager was apologising.
My biggest issue though is that I wrote a complaint to Grand UK Holidays a few days after we returned, I had an email back to say it had been forwarded to the relevant department, I was advised that I would get a response within 28 days, I have sent a reminder but 5 weeks later I still have not had a response and I feel this is unacceptable and disgraceful customer service.
