We had a great pilot (Chris) and ground team who all worked seamlessly together and all obviously enjoyed their jobs.
The experience was beautiful from beginning to end. I will definitely book again.
Seeing the barn owl hunting from way up high was really special.

Very well organised
Very well organised. Lots of helpful information before the trip. The balloon ride was amazing. Being in the air is so peaceful. That was my second trip with Virgin and I am definitely going to do it again.

Can’t rate the flight itself because…
Can’t rate the flight itself because they left without us.
We drove for an hour and a half, were up since 4am, and arrived at the designated meeting point at 6:06am for a meeting time scheduled for 6am — only to discover that “meeting time” apparently meant “departure time”. There was no clear indication that the group would leave at 6am, rather than that being the time everyone was expected to meet.
I completely appreciate the need for everyone to be punctual, and I’m not suggesting that a tour operator should wait indefinitely for late arrivals. However, when customers have driven 90 minutes to attend, basic clarity around the meeting and departure times would seem like the bare minimum. Had it been made clear that 6am was the actual leaving time, we would have called ahead to let them know we were running late.
We also called the emergency contact number once we arrived to an empty car park, only for the call to be rejected.
The most infuriating part is that the launch site was literally a 30-second drive from the meeting point, and the flight did not actually take off until around 6:30am — something we know because we watched them fly overhead. Had anyone answered the emergency number, or even made the slightest effort to contact us, we could have easily made it onto the flight.
I fully understand that they cannot wait around for every person who fails to arrive on time. However, there is a significant difference between being late and being abandoned due to unclear instructions, an emergency number that rejects your call, and a complete lack of communication on what to do if running slight behind schedule. A simple phone call could have resolved the entire situation.
The only reason this is not a one-star review is because the customer service team have been somewhat helpful. They “offered” us the opportunity to rebook at a reduced price of £95 per person, but stopped short of acknowledging that there was any issue whatsoever with the communication or meeting process. Given the circumstances, offering to sell us another experience — albeit at a reduced price — hardly feels like an appropriate resolution.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. We made a significant effort to be there, followed the information we were given, and were left behind without any attempt to contact us or provide meaningful assistance. The whole situation was avoidable, and the lack of accountability afterwards has only made the experience more frustrating.
Needless to say, we won’t be returning to Virgin.

It is now over 2 years since we bought…
It is now over 2 years since we bought our flight. Cancelled over and over again. We are supposed to be up tomorrow at Okehampton but cancelled due to fog. I cannot find any weather forecast that states fog in the area. Very curious. I would like a refund and end this fiasco. Do not trust this operation. It is a waste of money.

BEST EVENING EVER!!
Myself and my partner Matthew flew yesterday evening from Petworth and what an experience it was. We had a fantastic pilot Chris who was simply amazing, with years of experience and well over 4000 flights under his belt we felt incredibly safe. The ground crew were amazing too. Rachael who also had her beautiful collie dog with her were brilliant. Rachael was informative and a great laugh too. 'right up my street' in terms of humour and personality. The other passengers were great. So much so that after the flight we swapped numbers with a few in the hopes that we can plan other experiences together in the future.
Our flight was better than I could have imagined and our landing was great fun-an added extra in terms of drama and entertainment. We missed our proposed landing spot so were forced to carry on for longer. We then couldn't really find a suitable place for a little while. Once we did we touched down on a open field with road access. Landing was a little bumpy but so much fun. The owner of the field spotted us from her house, drove down to us and unfortunately went absolutely mental at us landing on her property.. Chris our pilot handled the situation so we'll and remained alot calmer than I and the other passengers would have given the situation.. the land owner was very awkward and made collecting the balloon and basket very difficult for Chris and the team but they managed it and did a superb job given the attitude of the land owner. We ended with a few glasses of bubbly, lots of photos, memories and laughs. We're driven back to our cars and left absolutely buzzing from what I can only describe as one of the best evening of my life!!!
Anyone thinking of doing a balloon flight-stop thinking and/or worrying and just do it. You only live once and if it all goes wrong at least you died living 😁😁

This company has great customer…
This company has great customer service. My daughter lost her phone (fell out her pocket) whilst we were helping to pack up the balloon. The staff organised a search of the landing area with the other participants, reassured us that they would keep looking out for it then discovered it in the bag where the balloon was packed into the next time the balloon was inflated. They offered to post it back to us but then they decided to organise a staff member to return it to me in person 20 miles away at my place of work. What great service!! The ballooning experience was also great, very safe, smooth and we had mild and clear weather. Will definitely go again in the future.

Ballooning to 3 thousand feet. Damon and his team were professional…
Damon and his team were professional and efficient. The flight was really smooth and fascinating. Incredibly calm, Damon explained everything he did along with details of what we could see. The support guys followed us and deployed us in the packing up of the balloon. A celebratory drink was enjoyed hollowed by a swift ride back to our cars. A lovely experience for me a routine flight for them. Highly recommended. Ballooning is very dependent on the weather and acceptance of the need to be flexible and last minute has to be mandatory.

It was a team experience helping to set up ready for the flight and eventually taking off. Our pilot was friendly and informative sharing interesting facts about our flight and the balloon itself and answering any questions asked by anyone during the flight. All staff were friendly and made it a fun experience I would highly recommend this to anyone considering taking to the skies in a balloon.

Great flight, shame about after.
The set up, flight, landing and putting the balloon away were all great.
I’ve deducted a star as we had to wait almost an hour to be taken back and had to sit in a taxi for 15mins whilst the organisers and driver argued over payment.
As long as that doesn’t happen again I would be happy to go again.

Waited 4 years to do the flight kept…
Waited 4 years to do the flight kept being cancelled because of weather conditions. Joined the last minute notification which is how we finally got to fly as we knew weather was going to be good on that day. It was worth not giving up as the whole experience was well organised and the views and conditions were great. Very well organised and staff very informative and pilot was very good (Adrian)

Go for it!
Only had one cancellation due to wind speed, then up at the second attempt. The team were great, made you feel welcome and safe. I would have liked a bit more wind so we could travel a bit further, but overall a fun experience. The balloon felt really steady and I didnt fell like I was standing in a wicker basket.
