Excellent - very prompt service. My order was urgent and having placed the order online I followed it up with an email to explain the urgency of my request. Tom Tregle immediately replied saying he would mark it as urgent with the team. Mandy Cosburn followed this up with three emails assuring me that the order would go up in the next day or so. I recieved it today. From placing the order to recieving it has taken 48 hours. I couldn't be more pleased or relieved -hank you. We will be in touch soon to place further orders.

Customer Service was excellent-Sarah was very professional and kept me up to date with everything.
The goods are First class and I can see how these guys are leaders in their field.

Buyer beware- the shipping fee is highly unreasonable. My order will arrive a week after placing it (it took 5 full working days to dispatch), and in spite of it being physically very small, shipping is still £9.95 flat rate. My order items cost just shy of £20, so shipping is 50% of the value of my order. This flat rate fee might be justifiable for larger items or express delivery, but certainly not for the odd couple of bits of kit dispatched an entire working week after you place the order. I will not be a repeat customer. Urgent orders may not be fulfilled promptly. In this case, the shipping fee is completely unjustifiable.

Update to reply from vendor: visible costs do not make them reasonable, particularly when the only realistic purchase is online and no specific date of dispatch is offered in advance. To give context, the shipping cost of two full-size bottles of whisky purchased from an independent retailer online cost exactly half the shipping price of my Preservation Equipment order for a box of the same dimensions but four times the weight. I’d have less of an issue with the insured price (empathizing entirely with the position of independent retailers) had it been dispatched promptly.

We had to order a bespoke large box for storage of an item in our Parish History Group archive room. PEL Customer Services were very helpful and the box was made and despatched quickly. Very pleased with the box!

I purchased some 'book binding basic' tools and supplies - only I'd forgotten something and ended up putting two orders through. Mandy picked this up and collated the two orders together so I only paid for 1 lot of P&P. My order was packed very carefully and the quality was tip-top. Would def. recommend to anybody who is looking to get into book binding or other preservation techniques.

I've placed several orders with PEL recently and rate their service very highly. The range of products they offer is comprehensive and of high quality, but not overwhelming - their buyers have done the legwork for you and sourced excellent products. Their website is one of the best I've used for online buying - it works smoothly and the additional suggestions for each product are very helpful. Preservation Equipment Ltd. supplied us with three bespoke boxes. We have previously been very happy with their ready made archival boxes so knew the production standard and materials would be exactly what we needed. The team met our very exacting theoretical specifications with their own expertise to create an internal division system of the boxes and perfect compartments for our objects. The boxes are strong, durable, aesthetically pleasing and acid free. We are about to order again for another unusual project with the full confidence that the standard will be excellent once more and that the team will be as helpful and accommodating as ever. I have a 100 year old leather travel bag to restore.

The leather has become very dry and stiff. Not supple and was not responding to any leather conditioner or wax.

However I purchased some leather rejuvinater from Preservation Equipment, followed the instructions and applied to the bag after I had washed the wax off.

The rejuvinater treatment worked perfectly. The bag is now soft and supple and ready for another 100 years of use.

I am very happy with the end product.

I ordered 1 item from Preservation Equipment Ltd & completed the transaction, including paying postage. Within a very short time, I realised that something else that I needed was available from the same company. I therefore completed another transaction, including another postage payment. The next day they contacted me to say that they would amend my payment so that I only paid one lot of postage. Brilliant observation, generous action, thank you.

After spending two weeks trying to find a company that can do a bespoke box for a project i'm on, finally found it with boxsite.co.uk (trading under Preservation Equipment). No minimum quantity.

Couple of little things.

Their board is grey on one side and white on the other. Normally, they would keep the outer as grey, which wasn't ideal for me. But they reversed it so perfect.

Secondly, I needed quite a big box, which they couldn't supply, but with a few tweaks and by using the full lid box, it worked.

Jo was excellent at corresponding. All in all, i'll be using them again for the next project
