I have an older AC model from Meaco, purchased from them because I think their fans are outstanding. The fans look beautiful and are almost silent - brilliant design. However, a warning to all customers with an extended warranty - this company's after sales/customer service is beyond terrible. It is soooo frustrating trying to get a repair to this AC unit. Mine is limping along like it is 90 years old, sounding like a jet engine about to take off and with ducting that arrived crinkled and faulty and that is now taped in place. I've spent over 2 hours on hold to customer service, finally getting through and speaking to a very disinterested agent who did nothing. Emails have gone backwards and forwards with days in between them then lo and behold I get an email telling me that based on my videos and photos, a replacement unit is on its way - please return the old one in the new's one's packaging! Fantastic I think - they've finally pulled their finger out and looked at the videos. But no - I wait a week for the delivery then I email back to ask for the tracking and I get a response saying "I misspoke" - we haven't actually sent another one at all. Now bearing in mind that this company has no stock whatsoever of anything and that their after sales experience has been appalling, I am not going to just hand this AC over to DPD in a heat wave and hope for the best. I have no faith whatsoever that it will come back sounding and working better or that it will even come back at all! DPD lost it/broke it etc etc. It is beyond a shame that a British company cannot take more pride in offering a good service - the higher-ups need to read these reviews and roll a few heads, not least the Director of Customer Service, who should be ensuring that all communication is timely, accurate and professionaly written. I do not think there is any excuse for such shoddy service - afterall, they can't use the excuse that they are in bad moods because they have no air conditioning, can they?

Made however when there is a problem and I attempted to contact them via Amazon they failed to respond or acknowledge. I never thought I’d see a company work this hard to earn a one‑star review, but Meaco has managed it flawlessly. Congratulations — if Trustpilot allowed zero stars, you’d have it.

Early July was supposed to be the “customer‑care month,” with daily restock updates that looked so reassuring. Yet the actual buying experience was a complete joke. For three days straight, I waited at the exact release time, added the product to my cart, and attempted checkout — only to be told it was sold out while I was waiting in the queue to pay, but the product is still in my cart.

Every.
Single.
Day.

It’s hard to understand how a product can be “in my cart” and “sold out” at the same time unless the system is just a decorative prop.

What’s truly infuriating is seeing countless listings pop up on other platforms from resellers clearly using bots to snatch stock the moment it appears. Meanwhile, Meaco seems to have done absolutely nothing to protect genuine customers — to the point where it feels almost tolerated.

And the cherry on top? A parade of KOLs and YouTubers proudly announcing they “successfully purchased” the product through various channels. When influencers can buy with ease while regular customers can’t even check out an item in their cart, it really makes you question the company’s integrity.

Limited stock is understandable.
Misleading communication, bot‑dominated sales, and influencer‑priority access are not.

Despite all these negative comments from people who are just annoyed that they can't get an AC unit when there is a national shortage, I personally can't fault them and their amazing service, they really do care about their customers!

I have tried for a month and a half to purchase one and thought my luck was bad until I read reviews on Instagram and trust pilot from customers who actually managed to get 1 step ahead of me and have the item in their baskets and not been able to check out. My experience has been terrible, I've signed up to every notification for the meaco 12000 btu restock, refreshed the pages every half an hour when awake with nothing until a few days ago. I noticed they had a coming soon, spent more time relentlessly checking, then yesterday that sign was gone from the website but the item still showed as out of stock. This morning 6am- same thing. At 10am on my refresh, it showed sold out. I was annoyed, I called up, spent an hour trying to get through to them only to be told they sold out within seconds, an apology, other retailers to look at and there would be no more stock this year. In the midst of one of the hottest summers we're experiencing, they will have no more stock. However on eBay, people have up to 5 units to sell for £999-1500. That is absolutely ridiculous and extortionate. The company needs to do more to ensure fair trade.

Trying to buy a portable air conditioner unit for the past two days is impossible, the item is in your basket and it says 2 minutes to making payment then 1 minute to making payment then 30 seconds to making payment, 10 seconds later it comes up item sold. However EBay are awash with the units for sale, some sellers selling multiple units at twice the price. I would love to know how along with lots of other people who experienced the same. I tried twice to phone the customer service department to be only told they only had a small amount for sale but EBay had listed over 50 units for sale the same day 😡

Trying to contact Meaco re warranty claim for a one year old unit thats leaking. Impossible to get through on any email/phone so warranty not worth anything. Shame as we went for Meaco as higher cost more reliable brand when a cheaper unit packed up after four years. Order S223071 16/06/25 bought directly from Meaco as they seem to be challenging the review to cover up.

Review relates to purchase experience and not product. I along with it seems everyone else in the UK has been trying to secure an air con unit from Meaco. Whilst I appreciate it’s like searching for a needle in a haystack and the company can’t just magic more stock from thin air (I’m sure they wish they could), I don’t understand how or why they have configured their order process in a way that allows bots to purchase their products ahead of real customers but they have. They have provided updates via social media to say when new stock would be available and we all had a go at the lottery! It seems not one of us won, the bots got all the stock and listed it on eBay. I work in software so I understand fixing the order process may not have been the quick fix everyone was hoping for, but you could implement some manual verification on orders to ensure that multiple units aren’t going to the same address etc. it is clear to see that the scalpers have won. Do I still want to buy from meaco, yes but I only hope they come out, address their customers directly and admit that they got it wrong! The measures implemented to stop scalpers have made the problem worse. I am frustrated and disappointed as I am really struggling in the heat but it’s my fault and not Meaco’s as I didn’t think about buying one until it got hot! My request as a customer is, be honest, own your mistakes, and try to make future drops available for real customers. Do something about the models being sold for over £1000 on eBay! It is just wrong!

Wish I could give no stars, appalling customer service, have let 99% of their stock go to bots and are now selling for double the price on eBay, do not buy from this company they should be ashamed.

How is it possible for as company that sells cooling products to state on their site "Out of Stock - New stock April 2027"!!! What the hell are they doing? How does it take 9 months to get more stock?? Absolutely crazy!

I wasn't even disappointed that I missed out on the 16,000 BTU air conditioner – there is a nationwide shortage, and I knew it would come down to luck. What I am disappointed by is how Meaco treated its customers.

The company announced that stock would go live at 10:00am on Thursday. At 10:20am they posted on social media saying they were experiencing technical issues loading the 16,000 BTU model and were working to fix it. Like many others, I spent the next hour and a half constantly refreshing the website.

At 11:30am Meaco posted another update saying they were still having problems and now expected to release the stock the following morning (Friday). On the strength of that announcement, I stopped refreshing and planned to return the next day.

Only to discover that, just minutes later, they released the stock anyway. It sold out within seconds and there is now no more availability until September 2026.

To make matters worse, Meaco then deleted the post saying the release had been delayed until Friday and switched off comments on their social media channels. Thankfully, plenty of people had already taken screenshots, so deleting the posts doesn't change what happened.

More than 24 hours later there has still been no proper explanation or apology. Mistakes happen, and technical problems can happen to any business. What matters is how you communicate with customers when they do. In this case, the communication was confusing, misleading and, when things went wrong, the response appeared to be to delete posts and silence feedback rather than take accountability.

A very disappointing experience from a company I expected much better from.

Stocking company, I have been waiting for over a week to place an order , then was told stock was arriving, the last two days they apparently had stock, which sold in 2 seconds to bots and scammers now reselling for over £2K , both days I tried to place an product in my basket and it was thrown out , and they then sold out in 2 seconds , I explained via email I needed to get hold of a unit for serious health issues , and they were not interested, Omar who ever he is was uncaring , totally un compassionate and couldn’t care less of medical reasons . Yet they obviously let scammers buy all the stock, this company should be reported to trading standards

customer service is awful , still no response .. whats the point of offering a warranty that you cannot claim from . Going to citizens advise on how to report meaco to trading standards . False advertising .

How in the world can a company this big be out of stock is beyond me ,you can't be that good or big !!!!

Poor we site experiance, lying about stock

This company is just playing games with customers; they don't actually have any air conditioners in stock. To keep up the appearance that they do, they open sales at 10 a.m., but no one buys anything because the units aren't there—the next shipment isn't due until October. I’ve been calling them for two months, and they always lie!

The fiasco over the air conditioners has been beyond a farce.
Several times on different days I have had an item in my basket as soon as they were released, only for the screen to show the stock sold out in the few seconds that I spent trying to pay for it on the next screen.
Not even allowed a few minutes to hold the air conditioner in my basket while payment was being made, and yet there's evidence online of third party sellers having bought multiple items to resell at hugely inflated prices, probably using software to bypass Meaco's rule of 'one item per person'.
They were warned days ago that it was happening, but did nothing to prevent it, thereby showing utter contempt for customers who wanted one for their own use.
I have bought Meaco products in the past, but this has deterred me from buying from them again, as it's quite obvious that they aren't interested in customers' negative experiences, as long as their products sell.

Ich habe bei Meaco.de einen außergewöhnlich schlechten bzw. keinen Kundendienst und ein wirklich schlechtes Geschäftsgebaren erlebt.
Ich habe eine Klimaanlage bestellt, welche nicht in der angegebenen Zeit geliefert werden konnte. Erst wurde von einer Verzögerung von 1 -2 Tagen und dann von 5 -7 Tagen gesprochen. Vieles verstehe ich, immerhin gab es eine Hitzewelle und ein großes Bestellaufkommen. Telefonisch konnte ich die Firma mehr als schwer erreichen. Unter der angegebenen Nummer hing ich jedes mal zwischen 90-130min in der Warteschleife. Jedes (!) Gespräch wurde seitens des Hotline-Mitarbeiters einfach beendend/aufgelegt. Mitten im Gespäch. Nun ist mein Verständnis aufgebraucht. Insbesondere, weil nun seit einer Woche täglich Updates zu den aktuellen Lagerbeständen bei Instagram und Facebook gepostet werden. Jedoch steht darin seit Montag das selbe, die Klimaanlage wird "diese Woche wieder verfügbar sein". Am heutigen Freitag, den letzten Tag dieser Woche, wird darüber nur noch geschwiegen und es gibt kein Update zu den Klimaanlagen. Dieses Verhalten ist unerträglich schlecht.

my wife and I tried separately to order a 12000 ac unit released on Thursday 9th July... both of us had a unit in our basket, only for it to disappear out of the basket before sale completed. Okay, we felt unlucky but hardly bitter. On Friday the 10th July we both tried separately again to order a 14000 ac unit. After Thursdays experience My wife used her laptop, her tablet and her phone to try and secure one and I used my phone.... So 4 devices. We managed to get a unit in our baskets on all 4 devices only for exactly the same thing as Thursday to happen.... Tge basket was emptied before sale could be completed. So now we are feeling aggrieved and go on to Instagram to see what other people are experiencing. It appears that not one person person posting on Meaco's Instagram page was able to secure one. You would think there would be someone out there that would speak up and say "oh yes, I managed to get one" but no, not one person made that claim. However, if you go on to ebay, there are loads on there for sale at 3x the retail price. You'd think that you wouldn't want your air purifying and conditioning business to be associated with something that smells so fishy, but apparently Meaco don't mind. Conversely, they don't seem to like it when the negative responses, generated by all this, from potential customers, start clogging up their social media feed and shut down the comments as a result. A really bad look Meaco! Hope all this makes the press!

awful company to deal with, 3 days i’ve tried to get air con on their website. the second the product went live i’ve added to basket and before i’ve even pressed pay it’s sold out, definitely bots buying as they are all now on ebay for over a thousand pounds. they delete comments on their facebook post, they said they were with holding stock to the next day and said people would be informed when it was going live and then all the sudden it went on the website and meaco deleted their posts about it. absolutely awful
