Aleks Clayton was an amazing help!
Aleks Clayton was an amazing help in guiding me through the complex process to secure the assisted living allowance for my 88 year old mother who struggles with Alzheimer's.
She not only help with the process, she proactively contacted the DWP to chase the claim. She also guided me to secure other support she can apply for.
Aleks is the Entitlements Manager.

My wife and I moved into Isabella House Hertford…
My wife and I moved into Isabella House, Hertford, in December 2025.
The Residents and House manager, June, have helped us to enter into and find a comfortable fit into our new home and its lively community.
Our House Manager June is very approachable, often going above and beyond to help out in a caring manner. We are particularly pleased to find that we are able to join in with activities, entertainments and celebrations as they occur in Isabella House and recently in Edward House "birthday celebrations".
We think its great that efforts are made on both developments to come together for entertainment and celebrations, and with this thought in mind it would be great if residents of Isabella House could sometimes use the excellent catering facilities in Edward House, at an understandable and reasonable extra cost.
We made the move into our apartment before we became to old to want to do it and, it seems to have been an excellent move, we have a delightful apartment and the location is just right to get into town. Many thanks to June and the management team.

Two nights at Leedham Court, Hebden Bridge
My husband and I visited Leedham Court in Hebden Bridge on July 2026. We are McCarthy and Stone residents in Sunderland, but used the guest suite at Leedham Court on a couple of days break, which was spotless and well appointed. We had a very comfortable stay. A special mention for the House Manager, Tracy, who was very helpful in all ways, especially suggesting restaurants. She seemed very knowledgeable about the area too, mentioning train services etc.

We appreciate how important the House Manager role is to residents and would like to reassure you that management cover was provided throughout the House Manager's absence, with support arrangements in place to ensure the development continued to operate and residents received assistance when required. Residents have also been kept fully informed during this period.
We are pleased to confirm that the House Manager has now returned to work on a phased basis. In addition, our Operations Manager, Lorraine, will be visiting Beckett Grange on Wednesday and would be very happy to speak with any residents who wish to discuss their concerns in person, as she is keen to understand and address any issues raised.
Further support is due to be implemented as an additional relief House Manager will be employed to assist in similar situations in the future, helping to ensure continuity of service for residents.

Butterworth Grange
What a fabulous space this is! Since Margaret arrived as the on-site manager, there has been a noticeable increase in residents becoming more socially active and involved.
From fashion shows and coffee mornings with scones to garden activities, there is always something happening, and everyone is welcome to join in.
It is a little oasis, tucked away and perhaps well hidden, but an absolute gem nonetheless.

Greenwood Grove - ’Simply the Best!’
Had I written this review after we moved in 8 years ago and at any time up to around 3 years ago then the stars awarded to Greenwood Grove in Glasgow would’ve been 1. Since then much water has flowed under the bridge and a change of local management at both Area Operational and House level now justifies my Five Star Rating. Our Independent Living Development of 68 flats in two buildings is, fundamentally, very good, well built, comfortable and now well maintained and it is situated in a highly desirable area in the South of Glasgow, close to many facilities and amenities. However, these developments are only as good as their House Managers and we couldn’t be luckier in that regard. Douglas Banks has been with us now for almost 3 years and is by far the best manager we’ve had. He’s professional, hard working and extremely supportive and attentive with a caring, sincere and kind disposition. He takes a huge and personal pride in our development and has worked hand in glove and tirelessly with our Residents’ Association to ensure that it lives up to its original title as being one of McCarthy Stone’s ‘Platinum Range’. He is very ably and noticeably supported by our Area Operations Manager, Elizabeth Combe, who also worked tirelessly, together with the local Customer Services Manager, Debbie Heaney, to help address the problems we had previously encountered over a number of years. That hard work and close cooperation between Management and our Residents’s Association has resulted in there being a waiting list of people wanting to purchase property here. Long may that continue!

Above and Beyond Customer Service
The Manager at Rykeneld Court
Went above and beyond after helping our 93 year Aunty when she had an infestation of Ant's. As we were away on holiday, Kadina got some Ant powder, cleared out all the cupboards and fridge freezer then checked on her regular as our Aunt was really frightened of the Ants as there was so many. Then she cleared all the Dead Ants away and made sure everything was clean and puts everything back. We could'nt ask for any more from Kadina, what a kind and professional Lady. Wonderful Manager.

An ideal place to live
I moved in when this development first opened and have no regrets. I do have second-hand experience of this type of living. Both my mother and father-in-law lived in similar, not McC&S . I rate the experience highly. It is just what I require at my situation. The Barnsley house manager, Nicola, is friendly, helpful when needed, with no bad vibes at all. Those living in are as one would expect, generally friendly, in fact it’s similar to living on a road. I would recommend Beckett Grange when asked. And also McCarthy and Stone elsewhere, for a place to live.
Being near to the town centre is a bonus,.
