A Smooth and Supportive Move Into My New Home

My recent move with McCarthy Stone has been an extremely positive experience from start to finish. The staff, especially the House Manager, have been incredibly helpful, supportive and reassuring throughout the whole process. They kept in regular contact, checked that everything was going smoothly and were always on hand to offer guidance and support whenever needed.
The move happened very quickly, which at times could have felt overwhelming, particularly as this was my first time buying an apartment and I was also downsizing, so it was a big life decision. However, the support and clear information provided by McCarthy Stone made everything feel much more manageable and straightforward.
I also really appreciated being able to visit the apartment beforehand to take measurements and even begin preparing before moving in. Although there was no need to clean as the apartment was already absolutely pristine!
I’m now enjoying my first week here and couldn’t be happier. It feels peaceful, safe and wonderfully quiet, all in a beautiful location. I’m very glad I made the move and grateful for the care and professionalism shown throughout the entire process.

A lovely stay in Bygate
My partner and I stayed in Bygate Court whilst visiting my Grandma in Whitley Bay. We had a fantastic stay, the room was more than comfortable and had everything we needed. It was a short 10 minute walk from the centre of Whitley Bay and a 5 minute walk from the Metro in Monkseaton. Deryn the house manager was lovely and very knowledgable. invaluable help
After 21 years of living in Spain, we made the decision to return to the UK. Our advice was to find a UK property as soon as possible. We did! and much to our joy a McCarthy Stone property became available. Having browsed their website it was clear that they were the best for our needs - Independent Retirement Living... Also it was in a perfect location. West Yorkshire from where my partner hails. The whole process could not have been done without the help of the Whitelock Grange secretary Claire Davis, the head office agent Joanne Jamison and finally Jana Medvecova at head office who helped us trawl through the application forms, explaining everything in detail and being so patient with us as 75/6 year old "silver surfers". After a collaborated effort between Claire & Joanne we finally saw the video of the flat, then visited for the first time in March. What a beautiful building. Met with some lovely friendly residents and got superb local advice. Then on 30th April we collected the keys... and cannot wait to move in permanently at the end of June. Returning to the UK is not easy but downsizing is the aim we've achieved. Everything booked. Our belongings go first then, our house cat by road/ferry and finally us. None of which would have been possible without our "trio" of help - so thank you Claire, Joanne and Jana. Great assets to the company. XX Angela and Alan.

Cranberry Court provides a happy home
Cranberry Court is a well maintained development of 1 and 2bedroom apartments with parking and a pleasant garden. Gwen the house manager ensures the property is well maintained and keeps a close eye on all residents. She organises a variety of social activities and often goes beyond the call of duty to ensure the community is happy and well cared for.

I had a comfortable stay for one night in the guest room at Wellington Court, Epsom.
The manager, Niki, made me very welcome and explained how everything worked.
All necessary supplies were provided.
The only challenge was operating the shower in order to get an appropriate temperature, which was not too hot or too cold. I felt this might be a safety concern.

Excellent move

Praise to the staff
I cannot praise the staff enough they take time to get to know the residents and their families, they put on a lot of good events which gets the residents all together. All the staff took great care of both my parents but when my mum was getting to the the end they could not have done more to make her comfortable, they still keep a great watch out for my dad.

Lovely community with exceptional staff and facilities
My mother in law has lived at Lancer House for over five years. In that time she has had a lot of fun and made friends for life with many of the residents. We live in America and it has been a huge relief to know that she is safe and happy.
Over the past year or so her needs have increased and Jenny and her team have provided exceptional care and support, always delivered with friendliness, compassion and professionalism.
The communal areas are beautifully maintained and the food in the Bistro is fresh and delicious.
Finally, if you are concerned about the service fees, remember that the food and care are of exceptional quality and highly subsidized and that many other services like 24/hr security and on call duty managers, buildings insurance, garden maintenance, water bills and more are all included!
We highly recommend Lancer House.

Five Star Retirement Living in Roslin Place Hook
My partner and I made an excellent decision when we chose Roslin Place in Hook for our relocation from Australia. We were initially hesitant about moving to a retirement community, but Roslin Place offers the perfect balance: complete independence to live our lives as we wish, coupled with the reassurance of a friendly community and readily available services should we need them.
The location is truly ideal. Situated conveniently between London and Southampton, just off the M3, it's perfect for car travel. For those preferring public transport, the train station is just a few hundred yards away. The village itself provides everything we need, with a supermarket only a few hundred meters walk from our door. Plus, there's a local bus service for journeys further afield.
The apartments themselves are warm, comfortable, and although smaller for those downsizing, they are exceptionally well-designed. There's a wonderful sense of community spirit here, with regular events in the lounge for residents who wish to participate—our "Friday Fizz" gatherings are always well-attended!
We're also incredibly grateful for our house manager, Phil, who is both friendly and efficient. The beautiful gardens are professionally maintained, with a small area and raised planters thoughtfully dedicated to residents who enjoy gardening.
Roslin Place is, all in all, a comfortable and happy place to enjoy the golden years of our lives.
