I have 3 expensive projectors from Epson, one still working, one in a shed gathering dust, another that just went pop.
There are four significant issues with Epson I'm suggesting are so bad you should avoid this company at all cost (as that cost is yours).
1. They do not give a rat's a.. spoke with 5 so called support staff this morning all either lied, passed on incorrect information or just got rid of me.
2.They cannot source lamps for any of the three projectors I have. They are always out of stock and you are driven to Ebay (by Epson). I now have 2 of 3 dead.
3. The resellers they send you to also cannot source genuine lamps so you are driven to google them.
4. This Market place is full of cheap and not so cheap knock off lamps - but you cannot tell till they blow up. That's happened to me five times now and I know its a fire hazard because Epson told me knock off's are.
I don't know how a company once respected by so many has managed to decend into one who's customer support is so painfully awful. This one has managed just that meaning you're on your own. Good Luck with that...

Another Failure
After my last review I had a phone call on Wednesday ( 21st) froma very nice lady who asked me to explain my problem, she explained that she was not from "technical", seemed far more concerned that I'd submitted a poor review. She promised to get a technical bod to ring me today ( Thursday 22nd ), they are apparently in Egypt. Guess what.... no phone call. Another let down from Epson. When this one "dies" I'll geta Canon or HP , anything but Epson.
Fail at the first hurdle
I purchased from Amazon and at this point, the printer (WorkForce Pro WF-4820) seems ok. So why the negative review? Well any company fails big time in my book, if they do not have a reliable support network, especially for new products. In this instance, their setup software kept showing that the printer wasn't connected to the network, when it was. I ended up leaving the set-up process, because I couldn't get out of that loop.
Then I tried to register my product. Should be the easiest thing ever except for the fact that the Epson website didn't recognise its own serial number. Then I had to wade my way through endless chatbot irrelevant suggestions to finally get connected to a agent. The agent didn't show up for 20 mins, and they dismissed the issue as a technical glitch. Not a good look on a technology company.
So this is my first day with Epson, and I am seriously just thinking of returning the product, because if this is how they operate, god knows what it would be like if I had a real technical issue.

If i could give it a zero or negative I would... absolute junk. Bought the eco printer for ink costs. So far it has constantly let me down, always goes into error mode, waste hours getting it to print... now I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still not working... sledge hammer is next. Absolute rubbish

Disgraceful scamming service
I purchased an Epson printer, via Amazon. It is defective and leaks ink. Despite all the help screens etc, it still leaks ink. The return date has been greyed out. There is no way to contact Epson to return despite warranties etc. I spent two hours trying to sort this out.
To be honest this is a disgrace.
Very poor service
Purchased Epson XP 8700 via Amazon. Arrived, set it up, great all working well. Approx 12 weeks later printing in colour failed, did all checks as suggested which depleted the cartridges. Print in colour still very wet and blurred as though too much colour ink being used. Contacted Epson, sending replacement printer. It arrived was battered and well used. Printed off in colour was even worse than one returned to them. Phoned again, sent me email telling me to go through the same tests again. I asked why it wasn't tested on site. No further email from them. I have given up and writing printer off and Epson off as a very bad experience and customer service.
MINUS 5 stars if I could
Worse service and customer service possible. Waited for my ink - for which I've got a subscription plan for more than 2 months - during which my subscription was still on-going and invoices coming in. I've spent more than 5 h on the line talking to agents who would continue to promise the issue will be solved in 3 days. Regardless of the complaint number and effort from my end - when I wanted to talk to someone to cancel my subscription - I was told the only thing they can do is to guide me on how to do that myself. After promising me that - even with the subscription canceled my ink would still reach me - they've told me the ink which was still supposed to be delievered was also canceled due to the fact that I've canceled my subscription. I have never seen such a poor customer service system and agents with lack of listening skills. Appaling!

I waited to 28 days in fact it is now 38 days Never got the refund from buying my printer at currys .Wondering who to report for false advertising Currys as its clearly displayed in store , Or epson who required photo evidence of purchase , which was sent . Going to visit citizens advice .
Epsom Subscriptions
Awful company. I set up a subscription, got charged £42 today 7/4/2025 for cancelling and haven’t received any ink since August 2024. Customer services were patronising and very helpful telling me that they had my money now. Save your money - would definitely not recommend a subscription with Epsom.
"Updates" downgrade the print experience
I've used Epson WF range for my businesses for the last 20+ years and have put up with their quirks, until now.
The latest update doesn't allow the network printer to be found and it is ALWAYS OFFLINE. Until you shut your PC down at which point the printer wakes up and prints the entire queue.
The EPSON "Experience" is a JOKE. The ONLY THING their software updates do is drive custom to HP.

Difficult Company/Bad Communication
Epson are a big international company, yet let me start by saying that when you have a dispute with them and ask for a dispute resolution they tell you their company does not have any, most big businesses in the UK now have a dispute resolution centre.
So you ask them to do dispute resolution using a third party, they simply refuse, they then tell you that they will not authorise work on your expensive projector and they do not recognise the 5 year warranty rights that you have on their expensive product, they try and use excuses and send photographs claiming damage has been done and thus they cannot do the work, I refute this claim, you state you are happy to pay more and they still refuse.
I mean to say, they don’t want to carry out work using their useless Equinox partners and refuse even when offered more money, meaning your expensive item has to be thrown out, what useless and incompetent people. I would say avoid at all costs, I am going to check out the small claims court documents but I’m not sure it’s worth the effort as big business tries to roll over you with their technical partners Equinox backing them up, reprehensible and utterly demoralising to me.
I will never buy another Epson item ever again, and I mean that, some people say it and buy anyways but this company deserves to rot in hell, communicating with them is difficult, try phone calls to them and you get very little information, then when you send them letters that trading standards sends you, they suddenly communicate but instead of resolving the dispute they authorise your expensive item to be returned without repair.
I am in dispute with them and they don’t even recognise me and just try and walk all over me, they are a shambles of a company and the least I expected from them was a discussion on how much more the work is, no discussion, just a no thank you, it’s not going to happen, your expensive item is toast, what a nasty company to deal with, I am now having to assess further action against them to resolve this.
Epson have lost me as a future customer, avoid them.
Instant ink lol.
Useless signed up for that instant ink rubbish, only to find out after already printing 200 pages and spending £30 on black ink that these instant ink packages actually take up to a week to arrive. So I did that live chat to cancel the same day as sign up as on top of having to wait a week, it was meant to be a free 1 month trial. Well someone forgot to tell my bank as £16.99 went out the same day, I even told the woman from Epson that the printer was faulty and was returned after 4 days and she still didn't care.
SCAM STAY AWAY TO SAVE YOUR MONEY
I purchased a projector which i had changed my mind and wanted a different model, after returning it and the courier loosing the product, they investigated and i was offered a refund so i waited and 4 weeks later no refund and i am being ignored!!
Will he reporting to trading standards aswell as corporate!!!
Epson needs to sort their communications

Epson, IN MY OPINION, is engaged in anti-trust behaviours, racketeering and fraud! New firmware update invalidates the functionality of generic cartridges and using Epson cartridges, in essence, if your printer used a generic cartridge, you are punished by having your printer basically disabled, THIS IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE, THIS IS COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT and ANTITRUST! SHAME on Epson. I hope your company goes bankrupt and all the compliant programmers and CEOs who perpetrated this abuse to INTENTIONALLY cause personal injury to customer property; loses their shirts for stabbing your customers in the back you greedy B45T4RD5!
Workforce WF-2960 printer Not Working with non-Epson cartridges
Workforce WF-2960 printer Not Working. All was fine until I started using non-Epson Ink cartridges. Initially all was fine but once I updated the printer firmware, issues began and now it will not print anything eligible. So that is HP and Epson off my list, will try Brother next.

E 8550 printer
We have had this printer for three years and have found it to be excellent in all aspects of use, with one exception.
Today, my wife wanted to print out an A3 poster (in colour) and we were not sure exactly how to go about it. We decided that the best course of action was to examine the online instructions but unfortunately they were difficult to follow, especially the tiny diagrams on which the letters and numbers were mostly unreadable. One section suggested that we should remove the rear cover plate and take out a board, which was nothing more than confusing and achieved nothing.
We did eventually manage to print out A3 posters by simply using a trial and error method.
Summary:
Printer - very good
Instructions - pointless
Bying Epson is a scam WorkForce WF-110
I bought the WorkForce WF-110. It is an complete nightmare. Everytime I want to print something is wrong. The printer heads needs cleaning until you run out of ink, the maintance box is full etc. and now installed a new firmware that prohibits the use of non-epson ink, except it also prevent the use of epson ink. If there were any fair competition this company would never exist. Avoid at all costs.
What a waste of time and money Epson
What a waste of time and money, I set up an ink. Account with Epson, paying £1.99 a month, I have only had one set of cartridges from them, I was not printing enough so I cancelled the account, and now I'm locked out of the printer, got on to Epson today, only to be told I have to put new cartridges in the printer, so I have paid out for nothing, buyer be aware, don't fall for this scam, again another company trying to get every penny out of us, if your thinking of setting up an account don't do it, I can't even use the ink I have paid for, they have you all ways, I only bought Epson products but not no more will buy another brand now, good by Epson 😠 I'm not dull, I would say I have paid for these cartridges, but now your saying I don't own them 😠 but hey up new printer on way, I won't even put this one in, won't subject any one else to Epson.
