Purchased a Epson XP 4200 printer.
Only worked a handful of times before refusing to connect to my smart phone. Complete and utter waste of money. This brand should be avoided from now on.

This company should not be making software thier NO GOOD AT IT

unpackd my new printer only to find there were no instructions, as I had set up many printers before I was not particularly worried. I duly followed the instructions for contacting Smart panel, then got an agent who took over my computer. He did not seem to have any idea how to use it. He said I will download instruction to set up machine but opened you tube and a west indian gentleman whom I could not understand. He said he would find another video and proceeded to open the same one. The problem was I could not load the inks because the carriage would not move from under the right hand side of the machine and was blocked by a plstic flap. After half an hour of trying to point out the problem on the video he told me to remove the piece of plastic(part of the case) at which point I must admit I lost my rag and asked to speak to someone who knew what they were doing. Along the way he also lost the connection with my computer and we went through the take over again. I found, after I told him what I thought of the printer, and he had hung up, I still had the old connection on my computer that I couldn't get rid of untilI switched the machine off for the night.
None of the buttons seem to do what they seem to indicate. If only there was instruction it would solve this problem. Reading other complaints I suspect there is worse to come.

I JUST WANTED A PRINTER DO NOT BUY if you dont want this company dominating your life. I really wish I read reviews before purchasing. Since March 18th 2026 and it's 28th April 2026I have wasted hours/weeks of my valuable time with a printer XP-3200, What a mistake!! this company has integrated themselves into my life. They then repeatedly ask for photos and screen shots then they stone wall you. I took out a subscription for ink and I even sent a screen shot of the direct debit. I spent 3 weeks without ink which defeats the whole object. There is repeated updates, constant status checks constant notifications will only print word and not emails, onto support chat which took another hour again repeated requests for numbers and screen shots.
I completely lost it when a notification that i couldn't have ink because my printer wasn't showing any data and to set up a plan when i had already. I wrote on facebook on their page the hell I had with them. I just wanted a printer I didn't want to share my life with Epson I was more in contact with them then my family and job together. I got inks sent to me, installed them then loads of more updates then the after installing the inks the printer refused to print but will scan, an email from Epson telling me basically I need to make sure the printer's firmware must be updated to the latest version.
2. The printer must be connected to the internet and free of errors.
3. The printer must have + variants of the ink cartridges installed; for instance, a 603 cartridge should be a 603+ for the ReadyPrint Flex plan. Please be aware that ReadyPrint-specific cartridges will only function if you maintain an active subscription.
4. Your serial number must be accurately entered in the ReadyPrint user portal.etc etc.
This machine is going back. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Appalling company, I am sick of them DONT BUY!!!!

Epson is look like fraud because they give cash back offer if you buy the printer when you apply for that cash back after some days they said your cash back claim is invalid.
It’s new scam introduced by Epson and even it’s not good quality printer I regret to bought but I have 30 days to return it. I will return it.

I’m very disappointed with my experience with Epson, both in terms of product quality and customer service.
I purchased an Epson printer for £579, which developed a fault causing print issues. When I contacted customer support, I was initially told the problem was due to the paper I was using. To rule this out, I spent over £100 on Epson-recommended paper, only to find the issue remained.
After weeks of back and forth, Epson then advised that the printer would need repairing at a cost of £369. Given the relatively high purchase price and the nature of the fault, I believe this is likely due to a manufacturing or inherent defect rather than user error.
Overall, this has been a frustrating experience involving wasted time, unnecessary expense, and no satisfactory resolution. I expected a much higher level of support and accountability from a brand like Epson.

Terrible customer service. Machine faulty, out of warranty, wanted half the cost of the machine for a repair. Refused to accept consumer regulations. Customer service follow up is awful. Never got a formal response and had to keep chasing!!

Hopeless devise pinter not doing anything at all press print message comes printer is busy then next time ink expended put new cartridge in print shows full ink try again exactly the same thing happens awful products save your money 1 is the lowest score but they dont deserve a score that high there should be a zero or in this case a minus score

Following yesterday's complaint to Trustpilot I have had an amazing response from Jean in Epson complaints and from Phil at the Epson service centre, it appears that somehow I wrongly installed some subscription based driver software that was charging me approx £110 per year for driver updates when in fact Epson support don't charge any extra for setup assistance. I sincerely apologise to Epson for wrongfully doubting them and I would certainly recommend them for their aftersales support of their XP-4200 multifunction printer etc.

Scam and misleading costumers not following policy. Subscription for inc is same cons as actual inc . Scam scam scam , costumer service are bad very very bad not trained properly just sad situation.

38% increase in monthly subscription fees from 1St May......don't think so, so whilst it's been good to use genuine inks for 5 years, I'm now off to one that accepts compatibles instead on principle. Rip off .

I got the ink subscription last year, I got the first month of product but my circumstances changed after a death in the family so I haven’t reached the threshold of ink used to receive product since. I contacted Epson support asking to cancel my subscription but also for somewhat of a refund as I have only ever had 1 piece of product in over a year.
They said no, which I think is disgusting. They do not care about circumstances and are more than happen to collect your money without you receiving anything. They even seem to have postponed the cancellation of my subscription even though they had every piece of information needed just so they could collect another months money.

Paid £2.99 a month for a long time, I don't print much so have only received one set of cartridges...eventually cancelled the subscription and the printer stopped working!! Contacted support and was told I need to use different cartridges since my account was no longer active. I can assure you i have more than covered the cost of those cartridges, not to mention the waste...a company that preaches their 'environmental vision'. Absolute joke, don't buy from these con artists. Printer isn't great either (that's when it worked).

Spent 200 pounds on epson ecotank laser printer 12 months ago now it tells me my printer is beyond servicable life.that is very poor bad workmanship and terrible for only year old

I bought an Epson XP-4155 from Currys a couple of years ago for home use. Despite actually using the printer very occasionally and printing in greyscale only, it eats coloured inks, with the effect that over the two years I've probably spent something like £400 in replacement inks. I previously had an HP printer for many years for business use, and never ever used anywhere near this amount of inks. Would never buy an Epson again.

So issue with my printer making big marks on the paper, contacted Epson and followed their instructions of doing a number of print-head cleaning etc. Still faulty and Epson agreed to replace withing 48 hrs, I thoght this was a good service but the printer they sent made 10x more marks on the paper than The one I sent back, also asked them for supply of ink but they said was sent with 80% full tank. Had more than that when sent mine back, not as though its costing them any money.
Just waiting on update now to see what they are going to do about this replacement printer but I would not buy Epson ever again, should have look at these reviews first, big company with 1 star got to be something wrong?

Completely and utterly useless and unhelpful support. even though I only purchased the printer only a few weeks ago, trying to get some help with connection problems whilst under warranty led to multiple emails from people who sounded like robots – and probably are. Never again will I ever buy an Epson printer and would advise others not to do so

Seriously, AI is more helpful than the team here. I don't even get the point of their customer service when thye never even try to help, but just refer you to documents you can find yourself without emailing them. It's shockingly bad. My product is okay but had I known of thos poor service I would never have bought it. With all redundancies happening and AI taking I'm shocked they have staff they pay as they only seem to be ablw to send link to documents.

Update: After putting in a complaint about their service it actually gets even worse. They're not even attempting to help and it's been a week of me being behind in my business because they're stalling the whole process and doing anything to avoid answering. It's shocking.

Worst customer care I have experienced. If you have an Epson printer which goes wrong after 30 days you are expected to accept a refurbished replacement which could be much older than your original printer. How can that be fair or justified? When said replacement arrives and is also found to be faulty, they expect you to continue going through the replacement process until you get a machine that works.. I have received 2 printers with worse faults than the original and one with such old firmware it was too old to update! They call this "Quality Assured", you just don't get the quality. Disgraceful service and appalling attitudes don't help either. If you reply to them they ignore any points you make and continue with the "Quality Assured Replacement" rhetoric. You can't even call it service. Once they have your cash, they simply don’t and won’t see reason.
