Beware 38% price increase on ink plan
38% increase in monthly subscription fees from 1St May......don't think so, so whilst it's been good to use genuine inks for 5 years, I'm now off to one that accepts compatibles instead on principle. Rip off .
Greedy Epson Subscription
I got the ink subscription last year, I got the first month of product but my circumstances changed after a death in the family so I haven’t reached the threshold of ink used to receive product since. I contacted Epson support asking to cancel my subscription but also for somewhat of a refund as I have only ever had 1 piece of product in over a year.
They said no, which I think is disgusting. They do not care about circumstances and are more than happen to collect your money without you receiving anything. They even seem to have postponed the cancellation of my subscription even though they had every piece of information needed just so they could collect another months money.
Con artists
Paid £2.99 a month for a long time, I don't print much so have only received one set of cartridges...eventually cancelled the subscription and the printer stopped working!! Contacted support and was told I need to use different cartridges since my account was no longer active. I can assure you i have more than covered the cost of those cartridges, not to mention the waste...a company that preaches their 'environmental vision'. Absolute joke, don't buy from these con artists. Printer isn't great either (that's when it worked).

Would never buy an Epson printer again, ink usage is a massive scam
I bought an Epson XP-4155 from Currys a couple of years ago for home use. Despite actually using the printer very occasionally and printing in greyscale only, it eats coloured inks, with the effect that over the two years I've probably spent something like £400 in replacement inks. I previously had an HP printer for many years for business use, and never ever used anywhere near this amount of inks. Would never buy an Epson again.
Poor Quality Printers
So issue with my printer making big marks on the paper, contacted Epson and followed their instructions of doing a number of print-head cleaning etc. Still faulty and Epson agreed to replace withing 48 hrs, I thoght this was a good service but the printer they sent made 10x more marks on the paper than The one I sent back, also asked them for supply of ink but they said was sent with 80% full tank. Had more than that when sent mine back, not as though its costing them any money.
Just waiting on update now to see what they are going to do about this replacement printer but I would not buy Epson ever again, should have look at these reviews first, big company with 1 star got to be something wrong?
Completely and utterly useless and unhelpful
Completely and utterly useless and unhelpful support. even though I only purchased the printer only a few weeks ago, trying to get some help with connection problems whilst under warranty led to multiple emails from people who sounded like robots – and probably are. Never again will I ever buy an Epson printer and would advise others not to do so
Laziest customer service I've ever experienced
Seriously, AI is more helpful than the team here. I don't even get the point of their customer service when thye never even try to help, but just refer you to documents you can find yourself without emailing them. It's shockingly bad. My product is okay but had I known of thos poor service I would never have bought it. With all redundancies happening and AI taking I'm shocked they have staff they pay as they only seem to be ablw to send link to documents.
Update: After putting in a complaint about their service it actually gets even worse. They're not even attempting to help and it's been a week of me being behind in my business because they're stalling the whole process and doing anything to avoid answering. It's shocking.
Worst customer care I have experienced
Worst customer care I have experienced. If you have an Epson printer which goes wrong after 30 days you are expected to accept a refurbished replacement which could be much older than your original printer. How can that be fair or justified? When said replacement arrives and is also found to be faulty, they expect you to continue going through the replacement process until you get a machine that works.. I have received 2 printers with worse faults than the original and one with such old firmware it was too old to update! They call this "Quality Assured", you just don't get the quality. Disgraceful service and appalling attitudes don't help either. If you reply to them they ignore any points you make and continue with the "Quality Assured Replacement" rhetoric. You can't even call it service. Once they have your cash, they simply don’t and won’t see reason.
ReadyPrint subscription
The inks supplied with the subscription do not come with a best before date. Epson user manual says that best practice is to use the ink within there best before date and 6 months after opening but with no date on the subscription inks you have no way of knowing how old they are. Also currently you only get new inks with the subscription when the cartridges only have 20% ink in them but with the lowest subscriptions (10 pages per month) you don't use up inks in 6 months and are forced to use them for a lot longer before you'll qualify for new ones. Only get the subscription if you don't mind using out of date inks.
Rubbish Software and firmware processes
I dont knw how or who designs the software for the updates GRRR
My Epson XP 6100, supposedly needed an update for its firm ware. I clicked NO because it has caused so many hassles in the past. This printer is over 6 years old! Have they still not sorted out what it should do?
I came back after a few minutes and even though I had said NO, the update had started and it need me to accept conditions. the update process went round and round and I ended up accepting their conditions 4 BL00DY times.Even though the scanner update had been selected, it decided that it needed to do it one more time. It was checking for updates 3 times!!!!!!! UTTER RUBBISH
Good printer, but cash back is a SCAM/FRAUD
Am shocked (but increasingly not surprised) at how many people complain about this. I bought an Epson printer with a £75 cash back and suffered lots of obfuscation, requests to resubmit etc. In my case, it's a request for an unobstructed photo of the serial number label on the box, which I can't deliver because another sticker partially obscures it. The serial number is already submitted so it's pure denying and in substance this is a MARKETING FRAUD
Et 2780
Et 2780
Does what it should....but scan. Won't scan to win 11. Won't scan on pixel 9.
Even worse customer service.
Will return it to Currys and go back to hp
Absolute junk
Absolute junk. These printers are useless. You spend an hour getting the print driver to finally work (or end up using a third party driver), and then it prints with lines missing - whole lines of text. The ink is extortionate, and half the time they won't let you use third party ink, so you're forced to buy the Epson ink at twice the price. It's a con. Don't buy an Epson printer.
I have a workforce pro absolute …
I have a workforce pro absolute waste of time and money 9 time out of 10 it isn't unavailable when it is available 9 times out of 10 will not complete the printing, now I have an error code and to contact epson . This piece of shite is going to the rubbish dump where it belongs tomorrow !!! If you want a stress free printer that prints DON'T BUY AN EPSON
DO NOT RELY ON EPSON
I contacted Epson for advice on purchasing a printer and spoke with a representative called Abdu via 0343 903 77 666. I was recommended a printer costing £699. When I specifically asked why a £349 model was not suitable, I was told the only reason was that the more expensive model had a better touchscreen.
Paying £300 more purely for a touchscreen is not a reasonable or proportionate recommendation. There was no explanation of performance differences, running costs, durability, business suitability, or any meaningful justification for the price difference.
I raised a formal complaint with Epson regarding this poor sales advice. Epson has not had the decency to respond.
This is unacceptable from a major technology brand. Consumers should expect recommendations based on suitability and value, not superficial features and upselling. Ignoring a formal complaint shows a complete lack of accountability.
Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others against relying on Epson’s sales advice or customer service.
Epson scam WF-2630…
I purchased an Epson Workforce WF-2630 a few years ago. The printer was fine at first. Then I realised what they are up to. They monitor your prints thru the Update software you allowed. Once it has done a few thousand prints it starts to malfunction. Also I used cheaper none Epson ink and had eventually buy original cartridges to get it back up and running then went back to none originals. I have deleted the software and started again and as usual have unticked the auto update button. This has worked for years. However now they make you tick agree to them accessing the printer to know the number of prints, they are cunning basssttttarddds. So I have ordered from Ebbbayy. A disc to setup the printer and will always use IT NOT CONECTED TO THE INTERNET so they cannot count or track the usage. Hopefully I'll get many more years out of it before it goes in the bin. Some say there is a chip that counts the print numbers, there must be so they build in obsolecence. Why don't we get together and take out a lawsuit for unreasonable trade... ?
I wouldn’t even give them one star if…
I wouldn’t even give them one star if it was an option. I changed from HP and what a mistake that was I had nothing but problems and have had two printers needed replacing within six months. Help staff absolutely useless and saying as it’s past 30 days they will not refund and send you back to seller who then send you back to them.
DO NOT BUY RUBBISH QUALITY and POOR service. Now having to buy a new printer so in less than year disgusting company!
⭐ 1 Star
⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Disgraceful Experience with Epson
This has been one of the worst customer and product experiences I have ever had.
I purchased an Epson Expression Home XP-2200 and almost immediately ran into problems. The printer repeatedly showed paper jam errors when there was no paper jam, making it completely unusable. From very early on, it was clear the printer was either faulty or poorly manufactured.
To make matters worse, the printer arrived in an unacceptable condition:
• The box was ripped
• No protective film on the buttons
• No blue security stickers
• Missing items including the lead and ink
This clearly looked like a used, returned, or poorly handled product, yet it was sold as new.
Epson printers are marketed as reliable and family-friendly, but this one failed at the most basic level — it couldn’t even print. I wasted time troubleshooting, resetting, checking for jams that didn’t exist, and trying to make a brand-new printer work.
The overall experience has been stressful, frustrating, and completely unacceptable. A printer is meant to make life easier, not cause constant issues from day one. Between the poor build quality, faulty errors, and lack of quality control, I have completely lost trust in Epson as a brand.
I would strongly advise anyone considering Epson to look elsewhere. There are far better brands that actually stand behind their products and don’t leave customers dealing with faulty equipment straight out of the box.
Epson should be embarrassed that this level of quality is still being sold.
