I would reccomend Discount Bicycles. I have made 4 purchases in the last 2 months from them, and on each occasion I have had excellent service. Their delivery is free which is a real bonus.

Excellent company. I received my order within24 hours of order. I would definitely recommend.

Spent a month researching a folding bike, eventually settled on Dawes Jack and Discount Bicycles had one in stock at only £10.00 more than an Amazon retailer so I decided to shop with an independent retailer and went with Discount Bicycles.
Big mistake, their website says in stock items are usually shipped within 48hrs and shipping is 3 - 5 days. excellent! You will receive emails confirming shipping, excellent. 6 days later no email or bike, so a phone call discovered it had been collected and would be with me by end f the next week, OK. Thursday of that week still no bike or email so I called again and was given same flannel. I asked for courier details so I could chase and nothing. Eventually got email which said that an order placed at beginning of June 2014 would be delivered in January 2014!. Time travel???? Bike eventually arrived 17 days after order was placed, money left my account the day I placed my order.
Constant calling did not help and most of the time the phone line was blocked, non existent or not answered. Calls were dealt with by lies and service was careless and arrogant! Use the big retailers or Amazon, you will get better service and reliable delivery! Be warned these guys don't care and really don't deserve to be in business!

I've had a similar experience to one of the reviews below.Ordered on 31st May and money left my account on the same day saying I would have a confirmation email in 5 days to say it had been dispatched. I didn't receive an email confiming it had been dispatched which was concerning, so I rang up on the 9th to cancel my order. I was informed it would cost me £69.99 to cancel it as had been dispatched and that I had received an email and it was a problem with my server . I said that it couldn't be dispatched as I hadn't received an email to say this. The guy who said he was the manager was rude and aggressive in manner on the phone, by this point he had hung up on me 4 times and told me I was a terrible customer. I asked for the email to be forwarded to me as proof it was sent. He said he refused to speak to me and I would need to email him if I wished to communicate with him (can I just clarify I was perfectly reasonable throughout the conversations), and he then hung up on me for a fifth time. I then immediately after the phone call received an email dated that day, saying the bike had been dispatched and would arrive on 17th January 2014!!!!(5 months ago). I sent an email clarifying my point that I should be entitled to a full refund as had not received any notification in the time allocated. I have yet to receive any correspondence from them, or a bike. I am now not accepting the bike as don't believe they will resolve any problems I may have with the delivery if I accept it. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Ordered a tow bar for a bike on 5th of May money left my account 7th May
After repeated phone calls and emails no response
then an email arrived to say it would be delivered on Friday 30th of may so my wife stayed in all day and surprise no one arrived
their phone mail box is now full so i cant even leave a message
don't waste your time or money on this place

Ordered a bike on the 7th May 2014 on the assumption that it would be delivered the following week after first calling to check if in stock. Was told it would have to be ordered and assembled before despatch and thats why it would take a week.

Called for update and was told it had been collected for dispatch by Private Van Network and should receive a confirmation e-mail - following the 2 e-mails confirming my order and that the money had been received (credit card payment)

Called a week later and the suprised man on the phone said I should have received an e-mail, he then said he would check from his end and sent me the dispatch notification to say it would be delivered by PVN on the 30th May between 9 and 5

Foolishly took the day off work to ensure I received the goods as was told that there would only be 1 attempt at delivery. Suprise suprise (I wasn't really) no bike or card to say delivery attempt made.

It's now 4 weeks since the order was placed and now their telephone number 02086947402 goes straight to voice mail.

I believe I have been had over and that I have no other option than to recover my money under the protection offered by the credit card company.

I would advice anybody to avoid this company like the plague - I wish I had done a but more research and could have saved myself a lot of time and trouble by going to Halfords and getting a bike off the shelf.

I have a cannondale.carbon road bike and i am very fussy with where i take it to, to be serviced. I noticed discount bicycles on my travels abd thought i would give them a try. What a excellent bike shop, very knowleged and know there stuff. They done a gold service on my bike costing £90 which looking at my bike now, was worth every penny. Well done henry and sam, i will be back again for sure :)

In today with a rear tire issue. Guys there were friendly, helpful, offered some useful tips . Rode away a happy cyclist. Thanks db. Joe, blue coventry eagle.

Discount Bicycles is on my route home and I have used them for a while, even when they were in Dulwich. Their Service is always good, and they are helpfull and are always prepared to do On the spot repairs.

I would reccommend this firm to any cyclist.

I scoured the web for a white 180mm chain set for my Fixie. Discount Bicycles took the time to source one for me after determining that their usual suppliers did not carry this item. I was impressed with this companies willingness to help, and their boundless good humour and patience. The delivery was a bit longer than I had hoped for but the part was brought in from Holland in about 2 weeks. I would thoroughly recomend Discount Bicycles. They seem very keen to serve.

The rear wheel on my bicycle suffered a puncture last night on my way home. I walked for about a mile and got to Discount Bicycles in New Cross just as they were closing. The guy was actually locking the door and had set his alarm. To my great releif, he reopened his shop, put on his overalls and changed the tube for me. I live in Dalston and so I would have been stuffed if I had not been shown this kindness.

I will now only use this bike shop. One good turn deserves another.

I recently collected my crashed Dawes Galaxy touring bike. I would like to thank the boys at Discount Bicycles especially Sam for their great work in recovering my pride and joy. Not many firms do rebuilds nowadays but Discount Bicycles sorted me out without any fuss.. Not the cheapest, but the work was absolutely top notch.

Ordered an item. Didn't receive a confirmation e mail at all. 4-5 days later called and was informed item had been dispatched and that it would arrive before easter bank holidays but no tracking info available for free delivery option. 3-4 days later called again to chase and they said tracking was available and two delivery companies had tried three times to deliver. No calling cards from any so we weren't aware. Ended up collecting from the depot despite having to contact various couriers as we didn't know where the item had been returned to. Chaps on the phone at discount bicycles were polite but not very forthcoming with information. Didn't feel very confident I would actually get the item but we got hold of it in the end. Not sure I would order again from them. Too much messing about and lack of information.

After having looked for a good deal on the internet for a Claud Butler bike I chose this company as they seemed large and well organised and offered a modest discount. I made the mistake of not checking the reviews.
I ordered the bike on 6 May and they confirmed despatch within 48 hours if in stock or 5 business days if not. I contacted them on the 12th to check on progress and they confirmed it had been despatched on the 9th. Sounds great but what I didn't realise was that their courier company would deliver on the 19th. I asked if they were wheeling the bike or using a van. My mistake was in making the assumption that despatch meant delivery in 1 or 2 days. This is misleading and I should have bought the bike locally. My mistake but don't you make the same one.

I ordered a trail gator tow hitch a week in advance of this bank holiday thinking that it would easily arrive in time for some family cycling. In common with some of the other reviewers below no notification of despatch or reason for delay 6 days later and so I emailed them twice, with no response, and then rang them. They say they dispatched it yesterday and it would be up to 4 working days to deliver. If it does arrive then that will be a week and a half delivery time. The internet sales pitch says rapid delivery. My interpretation of rapid is a couple of working days. This lack of communication, visibility on delivery time, and lengthy delivery time (if it arrives within the next 3 working days) falls massively short of my average experience of internet shopping. Its a lesson to look at review sites, like this, more carefully before purchasing.

I have ordered a bicycle more then a month ago. I only got one email that my order has been accepted. Haven't been able to contact the company since. I have send three emails try to call them, no answer what so ever. How can I get my money back?

Took my Specialized Crosstrail bike to have a set of full mudguards with stays installed: a job I'd previously, and unsuccessfully (due to the awkward positioning of the front fork eyelets and the protruding disc brakes), tried myself on two different sets of mudguards.

Next work-day I got from Henry the "your bike is ready for collection" phone call. As before, job was carried out professionally as the mudguards had been fitted very neatly. Really happy I won't need that hose again when I go off the beaten path!

Bike arrived OK. On taking the bike out a couple of days later, I noticed that the brake lever had cracked, and dustcaps were missing. I reported the fact and was dealt with promptly and courteously. New parts arrived a couple of days later. That is good service.

Ordered waterproof cycling gear, they made an effort to show me and talk through various options and ordered in and notified me when the item I ordered arrived. Friendly, helpful service and would recommend.

Ordered some shifters for my bike paid straight away I didn't receive confirmation so rang them after speaking to various people was told It was on the way
So my shifters turned up but to my surprise I had been sent an upgrade to a shifter and brake combination for v brakes that was of less value than my order and of no use as I
Have hydraulics .

So back on the phone I was told that the shifters where discontinued 4 years earlier and they had not taken them off the site so I was to send the brake combination back to them and I would get a refund also postage paid back so I promptly sent them back.
I then phoned 4 days later knowing they had been signed for but all I got was different people telling me someone will phone me back surprise surprise no one did so glad i paid with paypal I opened a dispute and got my money back so when I phoned back up about getting my postage back that I was told I was getting I got an unpleasant no chance your not getting that back now as you have put a claim in well I would avoid this shop at all cost
