Had a really disappointing experience…
Had a really disappointing experience at Bristol Airport. Security staff were rude from the moment we arrived.
On top of that, my 4-year-old was already scared and started crying during the search. Instead of reassuring him, one of the staff even joked, “Does it hurt?”—which made things far worse and has now left him afraid of flying.
Unfortunately, the boarding staff by the gates weren’t any better. They were dismissive and rude, adding even more stress to an already awful experience.
Security and boarding are key parts of the travel experience, and there’s simply no excuse for a lack of basic kindness, especially toward families. Really hope the airport improves its staff training.
Not worth the £87 we paid. Awful attitude
I paid £87 for meet and greet several months ago to park in the meet and greet area by the pick up / drop off. A few months ago I received an email to say the service had been moved to the multi story which I assumed was a temporary measure while the building work continues. On arrival today I was horrified to find we have indeed paid £87 to park along side other passengers who booked the multi story for a fraction of the price (I’m told by one they paid just £20!).
As someone who is registered disabled I book the meet and greet for its proximity to the terminal and easy access. If I’d wanted to book the multi story, which is further away and not so convenient, I would have done so. As if this wasn’t bad enough Bristol Airport have now introduced a ‘premium meet and greet service’ to park exactly where I paid a premium to park! They happily took my money but have failed to deliver the service I paid for in the location I booked and quite frankly I feel very ripped off. It’s quite scandalous and very sharp practice . The team on reception are lovely and this is no reflection on them but the management at Bristol airport have deliberately and knowingly moved meet and greet customers who paid a premium to park in the pick up / drop off area to the multi story along side other passengers who paid a fraction of what we paid and simply pocketed the difference in price. I have contacted them and would like to be refunded for the difference.
If you are thinking of doing the meet and greet, don’t bother - just pay a fraction of the cost and park in the same multi storey.
Update: We’ve now had a response from Customer Service which basically says hard cheese. They knowingly downgraded our booking to the multi-storey, happily pocketed the premium we paid, and tell me I should have checked their website. They did apparently email (not that we can find) but ultimately we have been ripped off. The service we have used so many times in the past is not the service you now get. Absolute rip off - book the multi-storey, pay less and take your keys with you!
Bad experience.
I've used Bristol many times. In recent years it's got uncomfortably busy and the parking more expensive. This said it's been a reasonable airport until now.
However the last time I travelled I had a particularly bad experience using the Silverline boarding. I'm not going into it and have complained officially but simply the worst customer experience ever in my life. I will genuinely avoid this airport in the future as much as possible.
Beware when paying for fast track!
Beware when paying for fast track!
A recent trip my friend and i we t through the fast track security gate to find it closed. We were directed to join.
The queues at the other end. I mentioned we had paid for fastrack only to be told it was closed and they pointed to us joining the back of the queue. I wrote to Bristol airport to demand my money back and they refused. This is not acceptable they are miselling a service that was not provided.
If only I could give zero stars
If only I could give zero stars. What a rip off of an airport. Paying to stop to drop off people for two minutes. I know airports are a rip off but you should be ashamed of this. You have a captive audience that have no other option other than driving through the airport and you take advantage and rip them off. You are making a fortune out of this despicable policy. Shame on you. Hope you can sleep at night you vile people.
Passenger unfriendly
For a start, the buses from the Silver Zone are badly designed for getting on and off comfortably with luggage, so that could have been a priority. The walk from the drop-off to the terminal is much worse: longer and not even covered. The old drop-off next the terminal was better. Fast track security was a con: very slow. As for getting on and off the plane, hauling even small luggage up and down steps, including plane steps, and having to change levels up and down, is primitive. One point about the ‘new’ road link which needs passing on to the Highways Authority: signage and road markings are dangerously confusing and much better lighting is needed. Hope the next improvements include an easier way to access the gates from the sitting area.
Bristol Airport Fast Track - or maybe not!
We travel through Bristol Airport to Canary Island regularly. The last Fast track experience was poor, as it was closed and we were herded with everybody else. Surely lightening cannot strike twice - yet again it did. We paid for Fast Track on September 17th and it was again closed. This time my husband wrote and complained. but the reply came to me, as I had made the booking. No apology, no explanation just a standard reply quoting their T&C's saying we were given priority at general entry - which we were not. There was nobody there who even checked our boarding documents. My husband sent a rebuttal email and surprise, surprise, Customer Services ignored us. We are still waiting any redress. We have paid on two occasions, with no service on either. The overall treatment of passengers at this airport is poor and the Management does not seem to care. I think I will travel via Birmingham next time and vote with our feet. I wish I could give them NO STARS as they do not deserve any. Truly shocking Customer service!
Booked special assistance for my two…
Booked special assistance for my two disabled companions and this failed to materialise leaving us stranded on the tarmac in pouring rain. Staff not interested in helping. Why advertise yourself as autism friendly when you can not get something so basic correct?
BRS adequate, just!
Bristol airport is a functional facility. The bus and coach area is a good addition since I was last there.
But........
The toilets are appalling! Dirty, puddles on the floors, broken seat and blocked toilets. It is clear that no-one is keeping an eye on the state of them. Do better please!
Answers please!
““We've invested over £60m on transforming the entrance to the airport, creating a smoother arrival and departure. Opened in July 2025, this new facility enhances our public transport and car park offering.””
Whilst presumably drooling over the original beautiful model of the proposed plans, why did everyone in the room fail to notice there is an uncovered 80m section that EVERY passenger must cross!?!?
In all weathers?!?!
At little extra cost?!?
With absolutely no foresight required?!?!
Just could not make this up 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
No thought for passengers
Arrived at Car park zone and caught the shuttle bus to the airport.
After all the millions spent on new layout etc,etc be prepared for a soaking if it's raining when you get off the shuttle to the check in.
Absolutely no cover from 1 link to be other.
What a JOKE.
Don't think you'd get that anywhere else.
Absolutely no thought for passengers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Horrible no stopping zone with signage…
Horrible no stopping zone with signage presumably obscured by scaffolding resulted in multiple fines in 10 minutes while trying to read car park rules sign outside Hilton. Will try to avoid ever using Bristol Airport again.
Poor direction signs
Poor direction signs, silver parking post code so new does not show on many sat naves. In heavy traffic took wrong exit at roundabout onto a gated road, so stopped to ask directions. On return to UK £100 fine.Appealed to excel parking admitting mistake.appeal rejected. Having used Gatwick & Heathrow without hassle Bristol is unsatisfactory.
£100 fine for dropping off disabled!!
£100 fine for dropping off disabled!!! What an appalling airport this has become. The road layout has changed completely for dropping off disabled passengers and I stopped on yellow lines to try to figure out where to go as the usual drop off was no longer available for disabled. This brief stop ended up with a £100 fine, which is a total disgrace, as no consideration is given to the disabled during the airports building and construction works. If you are disabled I suggest you use an alternative and more friendly airport.
What A Joke - Disgusting Airport
What A Joke. 3 planes arrive at the airport late Saturday evening. You go along the long corridor and then into the Gents toilets. There are no urinals just 3 cubicles to use even though you only need a Wee. Then you are faced with a smelly shit stained toilet to look at while you look at where you are Weeing. Then you have to wait for your wife who has gone into the Ladies toilet for a Wee, to find out there were only 2 cubicles in the Ladies toilet. Then you join the long queue to go to Passport Control to be face with grumpy staff and then grumpy passport control personnel. After getting through and collecting your suitcase, you then have to walk along distance to get the bus to the carpark instead of getting onto the bus outside the airport exit doors. This airport is disgusting.
Your security staff are rude and…
Your security staff are rude and aggressive. We totally understand the need for security but there is no reason to shout at passengers. Fast track was exactly the opposite dont waste your money. If you are travelling from Bristol airport please be aware that security have had numerous complaints against them - we were gobsmacked by the way we were treated.
Safety Risk of Long Queues
The arrival of my plane from Berlin on 27th October coincided with the arrival of at least one other plane. All the arriving passengers, somewhere between 400-500 were shepherded into the same corridor prior to entering the passport hall. The passengers were at least 6 deep across the corridor and stretching back about 100 metres, more if the entering corridors are taken into account and the chaos in the passport hall. This represents a serious safety risk as there were no apparent safety exits in the corridor. The crowding was dangerous and claustrophobic. The situation needs to be examined for fire risk safety and health and safety more generally. The situation was very worrying.
Pitiful transport links & corporate greed
Pitiful transport links, forcing you to arrive by car. Currently undergoing construction, with a poorly thought out road layout and signage. Drop & Go is extortion at £10 for 10 mins. Best avoided, use Heathrow.
long walk in very wet conditions…
long walk in very wet conditions comiing back from Tenerife 27/10/2025 then terrible walk with luggage and steps through terminal who designed this shambles of a terminal .will never fly from here again .I will drive to better airport than this miles away rather than suffer this DIRE airport again
The security area is a mess
The security area is a mess. They supposedly have upgraded to new scanners and there is no need to take out your liquids. The results is that the majority of bags get pulled on the side and they have to check them one by one by hand. What was the point of the new scanners??? Is this your idea of a better service???
