Unpleasant staff
The rudest ever person I've ever encountered at an airport guiding people to security. Where do you get them from? Frustrated prison guards?
I'm a very relaxed Professional…
I'm a very relaxed Professional Engineer. I caused no issues or disruptions. Security near gate 7 on Wednesday the 21st of Jan 26. Interaction with a lady at the scanning gate.
The security team who I had the misadventure to interact with has zero interpersonal skills. I was treated no better than an animal.
The way in which your security team behaves increases alarm and distress, and magnitudes the probability of an event.
It is not a prison, passengers and customers of Bristol Airport are not your enemy, or someone to be intimidated and treated with utter contempt to massage your own egos.
You need to improve your screening of the types of characters recruited into your "security" capability.
You need to train your security teams on the most basic interpersonal skills. How to show authority through safety, reassurance and leadership. You do not achieve safety, or even a healthy airport environment through intimidation and contempt.
It is such as shame as Bristol has the potential to be a real hub for travel. The way in which security services are delivered does not reflect the work and travel environment you are attempting to sell to your customers.
UKs most miserable airport staff.
The airport staff commitment to making travel through this airport a miserable experience has to be truly appreciated.
As a frequent flyer (weekly) and a regular user (weekly), I really do think the airport management at every level and in every part of the operation need to understand that it is not theirs and their teams role in life to be so goddam miserable and officious.
From Mr Meet and Greet with his bald head and his yellow coat, through to the people in the airline shops, this misery-malaise is epidemic.
The one bright spark, a coloured security lady with big glasses and short hair. Always smiling, never grumpy.
I fly from Bristol, and have done for years, as it's the closest airport to Cornwall with connections. Am seriously thinking the longer drive to Cardiff or Birmingham may now be worthwhile. Every year they get more miserable here.
There really is no need for it.
The occasional friendly tone, a smile, and not being shouty - this isn't hard.
Why are the staff members so rude
Why are the staff members so rude? I’m a happy go lucky person. Didn’t cause any issues, however being asked through the detectors and saying put feet on that put hands on this with no guidance, no reason as to why, is a really big worry and quite concerning what is the first time I’ve ever flown. No smiles just really really rude people. I don’t get it? I’ve never been rude to any of my customers like this. Upon arriving back at Bristol Airport, we waited 30 minutes to disembark the plane. We then had to get on a bus in the middle of the runway, which was okay. But after leaving the bus to walk about 5 minutes to arrive at passport control, there were a group of four young adults walking next to each other. They were walking really slowly, of course we had to get back to the car park before our time was up, as many others, and I had a three hour drive which was getting later and later arriving home. Initiate I plan to be at home at 3 am and I didn’t arrive until 4:30 am. So we squeezed past and they were really rude about it, but they were deliberately walking slow. Where on earth was the security between arriving at the airport via plane and passport control? You need to have people there to get people through there quickly and stop being so disruptive to other passengers. This really was a horrible end of the holiday.
Greedy service rates
Greedy service rates, drop off zone is soon getting to £1/min.
Impersonal, disorganised Security
Impersonal, security logjam, no courtesy or customer awareness shown
Very bad experience
Very bad experience. Our flight from Newcastle to Bristol was delayed by 1 hour 30 mins due to problems in Bristol. The pilot said it was due to inefficient management of potential ice in Bristol.
When we finally did land at Bristol we were then told by the pilot there were no buses to collect the passengers. We were made to wait 25 minutes until they could get it together. We could see empty buses from the plane, so it was clearly a driver issue.
I think with all the money they cream off passengers that the airport should invest in more staff and better systems. Bristol airport is one of the most expensive and poorly managed airports in Europe and owners should be concerned they are turning away customers who feel neglected, dissatisfied and ripped off. Come on Bristol Airport, you need to do MUCH better.
Unpleasant security man
I read on the website, sraff were trained to recognise the sunflower lanyard for disabilities. I have autism and adhd. It was ok until we got to security, when one of the staff was trying to push us through, I had to remove my boots and put things in trays. It was so rushed, the guy was clearly agitated, which made me feel on edge, so I took my time. I will not be rushed, as it could lead to me getting upset. On the way back at the airport, after collecting our luggage, the walk through the airport to the buses for silver parking is ridiculously long! When you are tired, its not fun.
The Traveler is your Customer
The Traveler is your Customer please treat them as if they matter. Cover your walkways into the terminal. Install some moving pavements for the those of us who are less able, (we still pay full price). Improve your signage. Give more priority to passenger seating areas and less to the endless Duty Free (RIP OFF).
For goodness sake sack your current useless Directors.
Last visit to Bristol airport
My last of many visits to bristol airport is now over two years ago but the horrors of my later visits are not forgotten and I understand its a lot worse now. We now choose Birmingham and Cardiff.
Damaged car at silverzone parking
0 Star - damage to car with no assistance
They have reversed my car into something when moving it, but customer service and complaints not willing to investigate.
My car has a reverse camera but no reverse parking sensors. Someone has clearly reversed it into a bollard, probably relying on non existent parking sensors.
As per terms and conditions they are not liable if you do not spot damage before leaving the car park. I didn’t notice as had only been to Dublin for 2 nights and didn’t have any luggage to put in the boot where the damage was. Damage was definitely not there before we left, and did not happen between me leaving the car park and getting home when the damage was spotted.
Asked them to check CCTV, they say inconclusive, asked to see CCTV myself but they will not share it. Seems a breach of GDPR?
Everyone who parks at silver zone has to accept thier unfair T&C’s, but you would still expect them to be accountable and do the right thing when something goes wrong, but they do not have the decency to do so.
If you care about your car do not park in silverzone.
Absolute shambles of an airport run by morons from accounting
Where to start….. welcome to the 1950’s any modern system that may cost a little money, but makes the travelers experience easier has been vetoed by the accountants that run the dump. No sky bridges, no walkways, passport control is accessed by not 1 or 2 staircases, but 3. This is quite simply the most backward airport on the planet, and it is embarrassing that this is the largest airport in the west country. I am deeply mortified that this is the first taste foreigners have of this country
Money 1st Passengers last!
I wonder what genius thought up the idea of using millions of pound to 'upgrade' and then put the passenger drop off point further from the terminals, requiring a long walk over open space so that if it is pouring with rain you get soaked?
I don't know who agreed to his ridiculous decision, but whoever signed it off should be sacked.
Also the £7 charge to drop off is positively criminal and has been commented on many times. The fact that they ignore these embarrassing comments show that they do not care one bit about passengers but purely about money.
This airport still has no covered walkways to the aircraft meaning you also get soaked going to the aircraft if it is raining.
I notice that another 'improvement' is less seating in the terminal building, less shops and even the water filling stations are gone.
Bristol Airport likes to market itself as an international airport, but most third world airports run better.
Parking prices are appalling
Parking prices are appalling. This is a scam. Hopefully they think it over as this is a sort why people will stop using the airport.
Poor experience
A regional airport which has outgrown its footprint in terms of the numbers of flights
Overcrowded and understaffed with staff that lack basic skills in customer service
Best avoided
Assistance = your having a laugh .
I am afraid to say , NO DISGUSTED , by the way my wife and I were treated .We had booked a wheelchair ,and once we got it there was only one way we could see it going, and it was not good .The assistants mostly young could NOT give a dam about helping people , all they wanted to do was make a phone call, answer a call ,or just sit in a gang and laugh and joke with everybody .I ended up pushing the chair myself, as they watched on .When finally we were told we were going to be taken to the transport ,which would take us to the aircraft ,we were led onto the tarmac ,where we were left outside in the rain ,while they boarded 4 at a time, and I don`t mean four wheelchair`s ,I mean people onto the back of this vehicle , NOT - A - CLUE ,whilst the rest of us stood like lemons in the rain .They could have reversed the vehicle to the entrance [ which we had just come out of ] and was covered from the rain =but NO they made us come out from under cover and stand in the rain .Picture this = on our return , I paid 2£ for a trolley , placed our 2 cases and her 2 crutches ,plus hand luggage on top, then as my wife sat in the wheelchair ,I had to put the trolley in front of her ,and I pushed the lot while 3 youngsters sat around and could NOT give a dam or even offer to help . So may I say ,we will NEVER step - foot - inside your airport ever again .We travelled out on the 7th /12/2025 ,and returned 1.30am on the 22nd /12/2025
Bristol Airport crap security as usual.
I sent this to Bristol Airport today:
As a regular traveler I continue to be appalled by the security checking service. Having just come through at 15:30 yet again the Fast Track lanes were unavailable and we were pushed into the normal queue with the usual disgruntled comments from passengers. Also as usual insufficient lanes were open for the quantity of passengers which just made things worse.
To make things even worse u got to the desk to find no trays and again this led to tempers fraying. Staff were panicking and threatening to hit passengers if they got any more abuse.
Nothing ever changes or gets better at Bristol it is leaps and bounds the worst airport in the World and at 70yrs old Ive been through a hell of a lot. You really need to sack your security management team and employ a troup of monkeys who I’m sure could do a better job. For Gods sake sort it out !!
Yours Mr Annoyed!

Running late for my flight
I was running late for my flight home due to floods , I met a special assistance man Sergio and explained, he instantly calmed me down , checked me in and took my bags , he got a wheelchair , I made my flight in plenty of time thanks to him , the young lady that helped me onto the plane was lovely as was the new chap that helped me and two other passengers.
Overall the best experience I have had when visiting my family in the UK far better than Exeter Airport. Thanks again Sergio you were a life saver !
Parked for an hour and paid £130
Parked for an hour and paid £30. As a bonus they sent me £100 fine for stoping just before the entrance to the carpark to check that I’m at the correct carpark.
