Still haven't received a refund I was…
Still haven't received a refund I was promised, its been over two weeks now.
I am owed nearly £200 and I am petty enough to kick up a fuss over it because from what I've seen in these reviews (of which there is a new one star every day nearly) its not a rare occurrence for people to not get their money back.
I have emailed them and will no doubt receive no response as I still have no response from the email I sent them before I even cancelled my policy except now there is money involved.
Absolute scam of a company, stay well away.

Only after replying to my email did I get a refund, seemingly they were happy to just keep my money

Dont bother with a choice insurance
Insured my sons car with a choice when he was learning to drive, phoned them in August to say hes now passed his test and the gentleman said that he was unable to give me a quote and that the insurance policy i had would be cancelled.
A week later I receive an email stating that I need to pay £50 cancelling fee!!
I did NOT cancel the insurance so looks like this company is all about making money.

Without your son's details, I cannot look into his file to see what has happened.
Most of our provisional policies allow customers to upgrade their policy when they pass their test. Where a customer has changed their details during the policy term, the insurer may not offer continued cover.
Some of our policies only cover drivers when they hold our provisional driving licence.
When you buy an insurance policy online, we make sure we let you know about any charges that apply, including those for cancelling a policy. You can see all details about our charges in our Terms of Business Agreement.
We ensure our charges are clear and visible for all customers. Our cancellation fee is in place to help us access necessary databases, communicate with the insurer, and provide you with documentation.

Have had my car taken by the police…
Have had my car taken by the police because for some reason you have randomly chose a date without me been aware of the date and it doesn’t start for 2 week so I am now going to court for driving without insurance

When you buy a policy online, you choose the date you want the policy to start. The policy start date is shown on your welcome letter and your Insurance Certificate.

Good experience on insurance, however when I called to add further items your switchboard took ages- I hung up twice, then called back.
Your ‘Receptionist’ answered and said you would call back, 24 hours I’m still waiting. You must lose customers this way!

Excellent customer service
My son had his learners insurance with A Choice converting it to full policy when he passed. This meant he earnt his first year's no claims discount nice and early which was great.
His renewal came up and I spoke with Keiran on Monday to go through his new price. I wasn't sure so he offered to call me back today so I had time to think about it. I thought this was great and a big help.
Today he called back as agreed and was brilliant. Friendly, polite, and extremely helpful. He didn't make me feel rushed at any point and took the time to answer my queries and check information for me.
Despite the quote being about £150 more than others online, this one was much less limited on the black box. So, no curfew and scores are only impacted if driving between midnight and 5am, whereas,the cheaper policy was from 10pm!! We've had no issues with the black box, they send monthly emails with how you're scoring etc. We have found everyone we've spoken to at A Choice to be extremely helpful so for these reasons decided to stay with them.

Don't bother with a-choice
Don't bother with a-choice, cancelled my daughters policy when battery died and apparently I was "tampering" with the telematics box. After cancellation they took 50 quid plus another 10% commision on top and I have been told that refund is issued within 30! days. Thats a month they keep the money for! Look elsewhere people, not worth the stress

Unfortunately, you have not provided any details to allow me to locate your daughter's file to provide a detailed response.
When a telematics device is installed, it must consistently transmit a signal for the policy to remain active. If no signal is detected, we will send emails and SMS messages to inquire about the absence of a signal.
If the customer does not reach out to explain why there is no signal, we are required to cancel the policy, as the terms of the policy are not being met.
