Bought my daughter's car insurance & paid in full for the year. Hidden in their terms & conditions is that you pay them £40 to cancel the policy or allow it to expire.
Disgusting hidden clause to catch people out. Will be making a complaint to The Financial Ombudsman.

If you pass the driving test and not to ask then, then will cancel your policy and block your account and your to check base on what term to cancel your policy and ask you ro paid £40.00. its very bad. they will want to direct debit form your saved card. be careful. They block my account, so I cannot check the terms and I talk to then via email, but they not tell me base on what terms! I request the charge detaidls, but they don't give me.

Very Difficult to Contact and Make Payments
Very disappointed with Collinswood Insurance. I have tried multiple times to contact them by phone, but it is extremely difficult to get through to anyone. They also don’t seem to offer a proper direct debit option, which means I have to call every month just to make a payment — this is very inconvenient and frustrating.
I also sent an email requesting a call back, but I have not received any response. The lack of communication and support is unacceptable and has caused unnecessary stress. I hope they seriously improve their customer service and payment options in the future.

Be careful with learner driver…
Be careful with learner driver insurance from Collingwood. They charge a £40 cancellation fee when you pass your driving test, even though passing is the whole purpose of having learner insurance. As the policy cannot continue once you've passed, you're effectively forced to cancel and pay the fee. This feels like a hidden and unreasonable extra cost that all customers are likely to incur. Had I known about this charge upfront, I would have considered other providers.

Be extremely cautious before taking out a learner policy with this company. They charge a £75 administration fee just to set up the policy, a £40 cancellation fee when you pass your test, and an additional £4.50 added to every monthly payment.On top of that, the insurance itself is priced at short‑term rates, meaning you pay around 80% of the annual premium for only six months of cover, plus all the fees mentioned above.These costs are buried in the small print—a very clever arrangement between the so‑called broker and the insurer, leaving customers paying heavily at both ends. All there so called terms is burried in hyperlinks in their quote journey.

My daughter passed her test just over 6 months into the policy, and you are warned that you must let them know immediately when the test is passed. I did this, and not only did I not get a refund, but I had to pay more money for the privilege of canceling !!!! Avoid Avoid Avoid
