Had a query today with one of my domains. Got through to Christian via chat who was straight on the case fixing my problem within minutes. A great team and fabulous support.

123 Reg took 47.88GBP from my account for a "Professional Email Individual - New account" even though I took my business elsewhere two years ago. I used online help to arrange a refund, but was surprised that I was charged. I have now deleted my payment info. Make sure you delete all payment methods when you leave their service.

Absolutely the worst customer service experienced when it comes to hosting.

Was forced to move to 123 Reg when TSO Host was bought last year. The support team have no technical knowledge and have to pass tickets on to upper tiers who then take longer than 24 hours to reply to urgent requests.

Support team on chart widget are rude and undertrained - a lack of understanding puts them on the defensive if you ask them difficult or technical questions.

Avoid at all costs!!!

UPDATE: spoke to Hunter who was not helpful at all - our website has been down for 4 business days now without the support we need to rectify.

I have asked for a full transcript of the messages relayed between myself and the support team as well as internal support team chat as information was not being sent on to me. I doubt I will receive this as it will show the incompetence or lack of hands on support. This is what happens when a larger company takes over smaller well served businesses such as TSO Host. Poor, poor, poor.

Just the absolute worst. Their portal doesn't work. It won't even let me update my billing info to renew my domain. Can't even change the NS so I can switch to Cloudflare. Avoid.

I moved my .UK domain to 123 Reg in late September. The checkout said it would renew in September 2026 which made it sound like the transfer included another year. After the move I realised my expiry date had not changed at all and it was still due in early October 2025. I then had to pay again to renew it.
The whole thing felt misleading and confusing. The wording makes it seem like you are getting a year added when you are not. I ended up paying sooner than expected because of this. 123 Reg should make it clear on the checkout page for .UK domains so customers know what they are really getting.

Took over from TSO Host earlier in 2025. Received poor from them myself, this, in my view, included the hiking of prices and shortening of contract periods. I have now closed my blog and no longer have a domain. I have no confidence in the system that 123 Reg operate. This company is on my boycott list.

I have had domains and hosting with 123reg for many years and on the whole I am very happy with them, every now and then I have some frustrations with some service or package, but on the whole good.
However their technical support have always been fantastic, very helpful and you can always speak to a person and then follow up tickets via email, very responsive and timely. Generally always happy with them.

I am moved to write a review today because of an individual act of kindness by one of their technical support, Sergiu. I have had an ongoing SMTP issue and have been bouncing back and forth between plugin support, email platform support and endless googling and youtube watching. This has been going on for weeks.
I finally thought I would ask 123reg for help and got put on to Sergiu who sent info about why the issue was happening, essentially a global setting issue, and that there is a quite techy workaround. I was absolutely at the end of my tether having to learn another whole world of something I didn't understand. But Sergiu was incredibly kind and helped me to unpick and fix the issue and today everything is working for the first time in weeks.

I am obviously pleased that the issue is fixed, but honestly I more moved to write the review because it's one of those acts of kindness that turns your week around. I was really frustrated and tearful about this gnarly mess and now I am not only relieved about the problem, but feeling good about the goodness of people.

Cannot get them to remove my email address from an account that no longer exists for a community organisation I have not been involved with for 4 years.
Currently in the process of reporting to the Information Commissioner’s Office. This has been going on for over a year now! Customer “service” attitude has been very computer says no. Would not touch these with a Bargepole again.

Upgrading emails, changing DNS settings with another provider, all very techy stuff, Raluca was so helpful and guided me through perfectly. Emails all upgraded and working.

Exceptional phone support. It makes all the difference. I've been a miserable victim of virgin media email for many years but recently things got so bad I finally switched over to my own domain email. Needed some help setting up and the two agents who assisted me on different days were both helpful, patient and good-humoured. I feel like I've died and gone to heaven

About a year ago TsoHost got taken over by this outfit. Nothing bad happened until late Jan 2025 when the email stopped working without warning. Just for context I had used this domain for over 25 years with host companies having been taken over by others. TsoHost I think was the 5th iteration. In all cases the takeover was seamless.
When I contact 123Stop they immediately demanded proof of identity. I was gobsmacked but complied. I was told I had to wait 3 working days.
After that nothing happened. I contacted them again and was told that as it was a company I had prove its identity. Once again I complied waited 3 wd and then nothing!
I contact them again and was told I had to get into the account to make some changes. But I couldn't because it didn't work. Catch 22!.
Eventually I persuaded them to enable a secondary email to give me access to the account.
Yes you guessed it! Waited 3 wd and did get into the account made the changes AND .... nothing happened.
I contacted them again and was told there were some technical issues regarding the transfer of the domain from TsoHost to them and it would cost me something just shy of £100.
I could see this was shaping up to the a mafia style shakedown and did the sensible thing and wend through all the hassle of moving to a new email address from scratch.
Now the last unfinished business is to stop the autorenewal on the account. So with great trepidation I've just rung them. No problem sir, we're just sending you a code to ... you've guessed it.... the old email that dosn't work.
I tried to persuade them to send to my phone or the secondary email. But no can do! Then they got very rude and just cut me off.
This finally triggered me into writing this review.
I'm glad everybody seems to have had a good experience so the question still on my lips is...
WHY ME?

Today at 8.15 I rang reg123 because my mobile was displaying a password was needed to be updated and I wasn’t receiving email ect , and the gentleman in this particular dept was beyond exceptional he talk me through every stage and slowly as I asked for over a hour, he was polite and pleasant and patient, thank you so much again. I couldn't get into my webmails this morning and its vital that I do because they are my business lifeline. I waited over 15 mins to speak to someone initially and when i didn't answer them within 1 minute I was kicked off the chat. So its ok for you to keep me waiting but I am supposed to sit and wait for you to decide to talk to me and if I happen to leave my computer for a few mins I get kicked out of the queue? Once I got back into chat I was given Cosmin who was less than helpful !! He completely ignored my issue several times, then finally told me there was an issue with IMAP but I also couldn't access my webmails from my control panel. I was never given a reason and this issue was ignored by Cosmin several times. When I got frustrated with him ignoring my issue, which is completely acceptable, I was kicked of the chat. Absolutely terrible customer service. If you have an issue with something then just admit it instead of ignoring me!!

My account auto renewed after I thought I'd set it for non renewal but I hadn't. I used the live chat. It was so simple to use and really easy customer verification. Andrei dealt with the refund with not questions or quibble. Fast, easy and polite service via live chat
