Account mis management
Started off well with fair fixed pricing as promised - usually much lower than pump. Around 6 months ago I noted that something had changed and that the wex fixed price was now always much more than pump (sometimes 10p plus) . I rang customer service to be told that I did not have an account manager anymore but that they would organise an account review. Review carried out and nothing changed, I emailed numerous times proving that they were still way over pump price - I did this for three months - same standard response every time just saying the ‘weekly fixed rate is tied to the wholesale rate of fuel, the price of which does not always rise and fall in line with the price at the forecourts. Sometimes this is advantageous to you, other times less so’ blah blah and that I would make a significant saving at some point. This significant saving never materialised, extremely poor customer service and account mis management - account now firmly closed.
Appalling Customer Service
Got my WEX Esso Card via BlueLight. Worked ok to date. Last week got sent wrong invoice for fuel taken. Much less than actual. Should have kept my mouth shut. Being an honest kind of guy, I contacted them to let them know about the error. Heard nothing back only a week later got the correct invoice. Appalling Customer Service. Didn't want anything but an acknowledgement would have been nice.
Misleading email offer
Was offered a fuel card via insurance company and told we were eligible. Spoke to them on the phone after filling out a quick online form. Turns out that email is just a big ploy. Being a limited company all details are easy available but they wanted prof of address as I wanted them sent to my home address.
Overall just a complete waste of time and when you work it all out still better off at tescos
I missed a payment now they have turned into bailiffs
I missed a payment. They started chasing me like bailiffs. Credit control. 10 calls a say. Borderline harassment if you ask me.
Then they give me an invoice 10times more than the usual amount.
I speak to someone on the team who explaons if I make my missed payments all will be fine.

Customer service non-existent. Especially as I am trying to fix the problem they created! Shocking.
Avoid
They sporadically added management fees to my account. Despite promises from dodgy account managers , I have never received a refund or apology, I've stopped using my card and asked to shut the account down.
Don't bother
So two pence per litre off but Esso are more expensive by five pence per litre than my local petrol station..what a joke

Ordered a card through BLC. Waited for the card to arrive and it didnt. So i went onto live chat and told to wait longer so i did. Card still doesnt arrive so i tried live chat again to be told to wait longer, 4 weeks now! with delivery 14 days. Account cancelled and wont be using again and card still hasnt arrived
Don't bother
Ordered a card. Could not log into the app or website. The password reset link that was e-mailed to me just took me back to a login screen....which asked for a password! No help available, live chat is useless. Card torn up and thrown in the bin.
Awful company
Awful company. Non existent customer service. No end of problems. Don't bother getting one of these cards. Haven't got to the bottom of all the issues. Many phone calls which don't resolve the issues.

I applied for this card using BluelightCard, all was fine and the card came eventually (Not a quick system).
Filled up with 30Ltrs but found on my invoice a few days later that the garage double-charged me. So I raised this with WEX asap. I am out of pocket. I would chase up every week and I would receive the stock response (We are chasing and will update you soon). However, after 7 weeks I have still heard nothing BUT!!!!! They charged me again!!!!! However, I can not log this under the original reference number I have to raise it again!!! I am now 3105 out of pocket and they are not being urgent about this at all. I eventually spoke to a human and they said they will refund me the 1st one but this will take another 2 weeks to process. So I now have to wait for a total of 9/10 weeks for half of their mistake to be rectified and another few weeks for the other.
My advice - It might be discounted (IF) it works. I believe all Esso staff hate using this system and it's flawed with mistakes. WEX offers no apology or compensation for me being £105 out of pocket.
Discounted Fuel
Applied for the Esso card through Blue light. If the application hangs, it’s because there’s a problem within your internet browser. Change the browser settings and it’ll work fine. Been using the card to get discounted fuel for around 6 months now, never had an issue. Savings made instantly on pump prices.
BlueLightCard Scan
If your trying to apply and you have the BlueLightCard there is no point, don’t bother wasting your time the system keeps going in a loop and it doesn’t go anywhere, no point in trying again and again,
I thought I’d apply for this card…
I thought I’d apply for this card through my Blue Light Card.
Mistake. Problems straight away with the application, and problems at every step.
I’ll be telling the guys at work to not bother with this. And after reading the experiences of others here, it looks like I’ve been lucky to stop applying at this point.
In fact, thinking about it, my last issue/barrier might have been put in place by my bank. If so, phew!

Appalling accounts department past my details on to a debt collection company over 12 months after i closed my account. I had to pay my accountant to go back through last years accounts to prove they owed me not me owing them.
Cancelled my DD because of bogus…
Cancelled my DD because of bogus charges being applied to my account. £60k a year account. Was told someone would be in touch to discuss, just tried to log in to my account for an update and they have cancelled my account without even telling me. ahaha, as if they are the only fuel card company. Absolute cowboys!!

Another person trying to get a WEX card via BlueLightCard. Wish I hadn’t bothered. Problems on my application going through. All ok my end and you just try contacting WEX! Awful customer service and they now have all my personal info. My advise… google for best price fuel and don’t go down this route. 😡
