Great gear and excellent service.

I'm new to cycling clothing but Victory Chimps website and stock caught my eye.
I've ordered their A.P.E optical sunglasses, Signature wind jacket and a reversible gilet.
All delivered super quick and appear very good quality, so I'm looking forward to trying them on my next cycle.

Super efficient returns policy

I received my track top literally the next dayafter ordering but it was a darker colour-way than expected and would not match the rest of my gear so I decided to swap it for another colour combination in my size . The online system worked really well and my swap request was processed very efficiently. Delighted with the replacement .

I think as a major company trying to…

I think as a major company trying to enter the market in the cycling & out door world it’s essential to offer free returns .as a first time buyer of your products I’m bound to make mistakes with sizing . It cost me £5.95 to send the item bk obviously this is a one off hopefully as I know my size but still a extra charge I don’t want to pay regards Neil Clunas

Hi Neil, thanks for your review. To be clear on returns, we split the costs of a size exchange, you posting it back to us and us posting the correct size free of charge. I think this is fair. Anyone offering "free" returns has built it into their pricing. We prefer to offer the best price to not penalise all our customers and support those who need it with sizing guidance to reduce the need for exchange.

We are always on hand to offer sizing guidance to ensure customers get the right size first time and provide contact details, online support etc. to this end. Many new customers avail of this service and avoid the need for exchange. However, for those that do require an exchange, as I've said, cost is split fairly. - Ryan 🐵

Victory Chimp Winter 2 in 1 Jacket

Unfortunately I ordered the wrong size and am waiting for a replacement (which VC have been excellent in helping me with so far). However I have to say the quality of the jacket looked and felt spot on.

I've yet to do the live test and will write a further review after that, but if the early impressions are anything to go by, it looks the business.

Poor customer service

Here is a summary of my disgruntlement, followed by an account of the facts:

1) Items not sized as described. I can live with this; everybody makes mistakes. However, the replacement was then too large.
2) Submitted reviews not published. If the seller does not like a review, then add a response explaining why – but don’t simply prevent its publication. This indicates that reviews are not independent.
3) Ignoring three emails. This is just plain rude. The only reply was to an email suggesting I was about to write a TrustPilot review. That is almost more disappointing.
4) It would have cost VC next to nothing to rectify the sizing issue (by sending me a correctly sized Small pair – with the return costs paid at my expense), but they (specifically, Ryan) would rather just ignore me.

5th August: I placed an order for 4 items, including a pair of arm warmers in size Small.
7th August: I received the order. The Small arm warmer size was not as described in the Web site (advertised Size Guide length was 42cm, but they were 39cm – so, too short for me). I emailed VC and Kelley offered to replace with size Large, which were the length described for Small. (large were advertised in the Size Guide as 46cm, but were actually 42cm). VC offered to pay return postage as it was their mistake - but I paid for return postage myself, as a goodwill gesture.
15th August: Return was received by VC, and a replacement order was placed.
18th August: Received the replacement arm warmers. Unfortunately, these were too wide (fell down my arms). Honestly, at that point I gave up the will to resolve the problem.
21st August: I received a series of 4 emails asking for reviews of the 4 items I had ordered. I submitted three 5-star reviews for the other items, and a 3-star review for the arm warmers, suggesting buyers should double-check sizing before ordering.
22nd August: I received emails thanking me for each of the 5-star reviews, and as a reward, offering me £5 off my next order greater than £50. The review for the arm warmers did not appear on the Web site, and I received no similar acknowledgement email to the three described above, for the arm warmer review.
17th September: I sent VC an email enquiring why my review of the arm warmers had not been published. I received no reply to my email.
1st October (approximately): I re-submitted a 3-star review for the arm warmers. This review also did not appear on the Web site. I received an auto-email from VC asking me to confirm the review I had submitted. I did so, and was taken to the Web site of Judge.me (the independent review site that processes VC’s reviews), where I confirmed my review. Again, the review did not appear on VC’s Web site – even though it was on the Judge.me site.
1st October: I received an auto-response from VC, thanking me for my 3-star review of the arm warmers and offering me £5 off my next order. However, the review still did not appear on the VC site.
10th October: I sent another follow-up email to VC, asking about the non-appearance of my 3-star review of the arm warmers, also referring to the non-response to my previous email enquiry, and I added a sentence, “I'd appreciate a reply before I submit a review on Trustpilot.”
10th October: I received an email within hours from Ryan, explaining that, “… we have since addressed the issue with the arm warmers, [so] the review is no longer relevant to the current batch of products.”
11th October: I replied to Ryan, asking (now that Small was correctly sized) whether I could now return my Large arm warmers (still in the original packaging, including the mailing envelope) so that I could be sent a pair of the now correctly-sized Small arm warmers. I said I would cover the cost of the return. I received no reply to this email.
20th October: Having received no reply, I followed up with another email, ending with, “Could you confirm that you received my email below, and let me know your response?” I received no reply to this email.

Great Customer Service

The returns service is so quick and responsive. I had to exchange a cycling winter top for a larger size and the transaction was completed snd the new top shipped on the same day they received my returned shipment.
Victory Chimp offers a great service to UK cyclists.

Great kit and great service

Have multiple bits of kit from Victory Chimp now and have been really pleased with both the service and the quality. Unique designs that really stand out on a ride as well.

Difficult to chase customer service

Happy with the body warmer in bought but very disappointed in the lack of customer service. Not available through Facebook or insta. No phone number just an email. Led to a delay in getting a response from them which actually landed in my spam folder.
It says 2 to 3 days for the delivery when I purchased the order. Apparently that was just for the delivery and not the handling of the item which they used as an excuse for it arriving at my house in 5 days. I felt it was misleading. I politely challenged this and asked for a refund on the delivery. They said it was on me because I ‘Didn’t bother to read,’ the terms and conditions. In my view if it takes 5 days, just say 5 days. If it’s not just the delivery the customer is waiting for, state at the checkout what else would cause a delay.
Clearly not interested in meeting customer expectations or even really putting effort in to being contactable.

What's correct here is that no, we are no longer available on Facebook or Instagram Messenger. As our automated response on both platforms explains, there is simply too much spam in these inboxes these days for a small business to viably monitor them for customer service purposes. A link is provided to our email support which is responded to quickly, usually within the hour during normal business opening times. Ditto the phone service. Email is a much more efficient and immediate resolution to e-commerce queries which will inevitably end up as an email. We are a small team and want to offer the most efficient route to responding to our customers.

What's incorrect here is the idea we are misleading anyone in our shipping policy and delivery. Our shipping policy is linked throughout our site, checkout etc. and clearly outlines operating hours, processing times and shipping estimates so customers can make the right decision on which service to choose.

We offer a low price next working day shipping service for urgent UK & Ireland orders which is fulfilled on a daily basis and always delivered next day. All other UK orders are sent via Royal Mail's Tracked 48 service, a 2-3 working day service. This service does not collect weekends (when this order was placed, again stated in our shipping info/policy). We usually process same or next working day, but state 1-2 working days processing time to cover busier periods such as Mondays, public holidays etc. as was the case here. The order then reached the customer within the stated 2-3 working day delivery time. We thus declined the shipping cost refund requested due to delivering well within our published processing and shipping times. Most will understand that shipping estimates are from the point of sending. We need a little time to process orders during busier periods, and also a little time off for family and bike riding at weekends. We make no apology for this and there is absolutely no attempt to mislead with the above clearly stated everywhere shipping details are noted.

If you need an order for a ride, event, celebration or it's otherwise time-sensitive, we offer a next working day service for a little more than our standard service.

We pride ourselves on our customer service and record of quick, helpful responses and delivery as promised, as a glance over more reasonable reviews on here will quickly show - Ryan 🐵

Great quality kit

Great quality kit, reasonably priced and quick delivery.
I bought bib tights which are very comfortable and nice and warm as are the winter gloves. I’ve ordered more winter gear as I have been so pleased with first order.
My new go to cycle kit brand. Highly recommend.

I was drawn in by the bold colourful…

I was drawn in by the bold colourful designs, but the real suprise was the quality of customer support and ease of returns/exchanges.
The team clearly value how customers enjoy their products. And it's hard not too as the quality is there without inflated pricetags.

No Monkey Business with the Chimps

Firstly - the swag is A1 Class! Quality, style, design and fit. Originally Out of Stock but available a week later and even though I messed up the order, VC were quick to help, fix with no fuss and get product out the door quick sticks! Legends!

Disappointing quality and unhelpful customer service

I really wanted to like Victory Chimp, their designs are great, and at this price point (£115 for bib shorts), I expected a premium product and experience. Unfortunately, that’s not what I received.

After only light use, the side pocket began to unravel, and when I prepared the bibs to send back, I discovered that the rear strap stitching had also come loose. Two faults on the same product after relatively little use really shouldn’t happen with something sold as high-quality cycling gear.

Eventually, I was sent a replacement, which I appreciated but after only a few uses, the fabric along the pocket stitching started to develop visible lint and wear, as if the material was already beginning to break down. For a supposedly durable design, that’s really disappointing.

What made things worse was how the issue was handled. The communication felt dismissive and procedural, with little engagement beyond linking me to the returns page. Despite taking the time to share constructive feedback, my concerns were largely ignored or brushed aside. I eventually had to chase for replies, and the overall tone left me feeling more frustrated than supported.

Faults can happen but how a company deals with them defines the brand. In this case, I came away disappointed not only with the product but with the service as well. Sadly, I wouldn’t feel confident purchasing from Victory Chimp again.

Edit after Victory Chimp response:

To be clear: I take excellent care of my kit and used these bibs as intended. Suggesting the faults are due to my usage - especially in the first email after I provided feedback - is both unfair and unprofessional. Both items failed under normal use; this is a product issue, not a customer issue.

For a premium brand, I expected better quality and professional, respectful communication. Defensive, accusatory messaging like this reflects poorly on the company and its approach to customers. I am changing my rating to zero stars.

To anyone considering Victory Chimp: I hope you won’t experience similar issues with your items, because dealing with their customer service - in particular, Ryan - can be frustrating and unpleasant. Also, reading other one-star reviews, it seems I am not the only customer who experienced disrespectful, passive-aggressive communication.

Rather than "dismissive", once alerted to this rare product fault we quickly arranged for the return and exchange of this item and efficiently got a new pair out to the customer. Very unclear on what was expected here as we feel the right thing to do was to put the issue right as quickly as possible, remaining courteous throughout. We take all feedback seriously and incorporate into our product development. We cannot discuss a supposed fault with any clarity or constructively before seeing the returned item. This would usually occur after return and inspection. However, when a singular issue occurs across two identical items, with no other such issues raised by several thousand other cutomers of the same product, it begins to appear down to usage.
