My first experience of AA Smartcare and I have to say it was brilliant!
Car picked up at 8.30 and delivered back at 15.00. In between a very thorough service indeed. The car is now running very smoothly and quietly and I will have no hesitation in calling you every time. Thank you all!

The AA rescue was excellent but Prestige handling the repair was a disaster.
The "at home" rescue went extremely well. It wasn't an emergency but the AA van arrived within 3 hours and the operator got my car drivable again very quickly. He also booked a slot at a local garage for me to take my car in for a full repair. Great!
My experience with Prestige Fleet Services thereafter was, however, dreadful. There was a problem on their system that meant that my booking existed - they could see it and send me a message - but I could not respond or log in to confirm my booking. I spent most of the next day on the computer and on my phone trying to get them to sort it out. To be fair, the people I spoke to at Prestige were polite, patient and very willing. Eventually, however, they just gave up on my job and created a new one as a mirror of the original. This worked OK but the subsequent system communication with me and the garage was simply confusing. Several phone calls between the garage, Prestige and me on the following day, the garage fixed my car and I was able to go in and collect it.
So the AA response was very good but I shall think twice in future before getting Prestige involved in the actual repair. It would have been simpler and probably a lot quicker just for me to phone the garage and take my car in.
Booked AM appointment received messages…
Booked AM appointment received messages all week informing me I would receive a call the morning to inform me a estimated time and another call 15 minutes before hand received no call, called again at 12.15 for a update was told mechanic is running late and will be with me for 1pm waited and waited called again to get update at 3pm to then wait another hour to be told the mechanic went home sick and appointment needed rescheduled next appointment was 5 days later. No phone call to inform me of this from depot, ridiculous, took the day of work and whole day was wasted, save your money go elsewhere.

The AA tried to circumvent the Consumer Rights Act 2015 with digital checkboxes. Their cooling fan failed in less than 9 months due to a cracked radiator housing. They charged me £156.11 for a new one, claiming there was "no evidence" it was their fault and that my online approval meant I waived my warranty rights. However, I only agreed to the work because I needed my car for work. The AA even admitted they don't have any pictures to prove they installed the fan correctly, yet they expect me to prove it failed. A digital checkbox cannot negate my legal rights, and a repair should last longer than 9 months. I'm taking this to the Motor Ombudsman and Small Claims Court to get my money back.

I would have given 5 stars but my appointment was to be before midday but was changed to 14.30 and nobody contacted me to let me know this I only found out on the day after I phoned to see where the mechanic was.

I used Prestige smartcare to arrange a service and MOT for my car as I have been an AA member for over 30 years. I found the system extremely disappointing from the beginning and to date have not received a resolution to my complaint. I would urge everyone not to use Prestige Smartcare. I ended up paying much more for the service and MOT and haven’t received a service certificate and the faults on my car have NOT been rectified. Even though I have paid for the repairs. The garage recommended were very unhelpful and the car was there for 3 days? I will use Toyota in future

Appalling service – completely failed to turn up with zero communication
Tuska booked me a mobile service with AA Mobile Mechanics for today (11th June), and the entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. The mechanic assigned to my booking ("Dover David" covering the CT17 0HD area) simply never turned up.
Worse than the no-show itself was the complete lack of basic courtesy. I did not receive a single phone call, email, or text message to inform me of a delay, a problem, or a cancellation. The only message I had was an automated confirmation from a no-reply number, leaving me completely in the dark.
I spent my entire day waiting around for a service that never happened. It is completely unacceptable to treat customers with such disregard for their time. You expect a certain level of reliability and professionalism from a brand like the AA, but this fell entirely short. Highly disorganised and completely unreliable. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere if you actually need someone to turn up.
