Broke down at approx 6pm on a Sunday evening. Recovery was then stated as between 11pm and 2am on the Monday morning. Then recieved an email later stating this Recovery was now scheduled between 7am and midday on the Monday !!!!

There is no dimension where this is an acceptable Recovery period. Absolutely disgusting service. When policy matures it will be cancelled

Fantastic service total job from both call outs

Friendly informative and professional mechanic, explained everything in layman terms (easy for me who has limited knowledge on vehicles).

Work was carried out within the time frame specified in an organised and tidy fashion.

Service has exceeded my expectations so I will definitely keep using the mobile service and recommend to friends and family.

The recovery driver was very efficiant and informative. Picked me up in a timely and safe manner. Identified the problem and got me to my desiination.
Had the repaires booked through RAC

On 13 July 2026 an RAC mechanic attended at my home address to diagnose a fault with my car. Subsequently I booked for an RAC mechanic to attend to carry out the repair at an agreed price. I subsequently received confirmation texts and emails, even the day before the repair was due to carried out confirming that all was in order.

The afternoon before the repair date I was informed that the part was more expensive and the repair would need to be moved to three days later and payment was required up front. After spending over 20 minutes on the phone to RAC the repair was booked in but the customer service person informed me that it was not company policy to take payment up front.

I then received confirmation texts and emails confirming the date the repair would be carried out and how hassle free this would be. I even received a confirmation text on the morning of the repair, about half an hour before the mechanic phoned to say that RAC had not ordered the part!

The whole RAC system is a joke. No one seems to check that parts have been ordered, confirmation texts and emails are meaningless. We are now waiting to see if the repair actually goes ahead in two days time bI have no faith in this company at all. I have now been without the use of the car for over two weeks.

My RAC membership has been worth every penny. Their mechanics have resolved problems on my vehicle that garages have failed to fix. They have never been patronising and always explain clearly what needs fixing and get it done. Roadside service has been quick and reassuring. Drive repairs have always been effective so I’m very pleased I chose a home service. Booking was quick and easy. Matthew listened carefully to my concerns and reviewed the issues after the service, so I now feel confident driving my vehicle. Sorted!

Mat.(8524) fixed my car on my drive at home as promised. Arrived on time as per txt and phone conversation. The job was done quickly and expertly. Car is good and back to normal working condition. THANKS MAT. And RAC for a good job done.

The roadside help arrived in just 2 hours and I was expecting a lot longer. The mechanic was really nice and helpful. He booked my car in to be fixed on my drive just 2 days later and towed me home. The second mechanic who came to fixed my car on the drive was done in only one hour and he was very helpful and informative for future care of my car. The updates for arrival, by email, phone and app was all amazing. 5 stars and I will be keeping the RAC as a nessessity from now on.

My partner,my son and 3 of his friends stuck in Devon. I’ve already stated and slated the RAC but I cancontinue where I left off.It took them 11 day,yes eleven days to get the car back to Bristol.They couldn’t fix the car on the Friday afternoon so a promise of a mechanic attending the camp site in Paignton first thing Monday morning.
Apparently it was engine fault and non existent fan belt.
On picking up the car from our dependable local mechanic in Longwell Green late Thursday 30th it turns out that it was the fan belt and battery which was the cause of the brake down.That simple and yet the mechanic couldn’t fix it.The car has been absolutely fine since.
Other than that,we did try to get a curtesy car which failed and not ONE phone call to apologise for all the broken promises..and a lot of them

Mechanic was most obliging about time of appointment. He was friendly and efficient, even having to go away and procure another part to complete the repair. Well pleased with the result

The mechanic contacted me when he was on his way. He explained what he was going to do and worked hard until he finished. Leaving the drive tidy. I will definitely use this service again.
