Has not turned up on the day delivery was due. Not even a phone call to say the delivery was going to be late or delayed. Great when you have taken a day off. Will not order from them direct again, at least when ordering through Wickes previously it turned up

Do not use this company
Do not use this company. Their marketing is excellent but customer’s service is very poor. Our lawn was delivered with bald patches 2-3 inch in size all over each turf. The lawn gradually deteriorated despite us watering regularly and cutting a third of the grass with each cut. Rolawn did not take note of us complaining about their pre fabricated bold patches blaming it all on us and how we looked after the lawn. At dispatch of the lawn no care instructions are being send and the company are using this fact to blame us the customer for the deterioration of the lawn. We ended up with a lawn that is now absolutely discoloured, the patches are growing - we have square meters of bold hay looking lawn. Much much worse than our old lawn. Complaints do not work with Rolawn and even advise is not possible to be obtain from their costumer service.

The Finest Meadow Grass
If you want my recommendation, it's to go elsewhere and avoid these guys with a barge pole. Quality of the lawn is absolutely awful. Misshapen rolls of all sizes and thicknesses.
Meadow grass is beyond what i would regard as acceptable. Some rolls are just full. Given this was an order of just under £1000, i'd have expected better, much better. Avoid!

Good quality
Needed 100m2 plus 2 tons of top soil.
Ordered from Rolawn
They kindly offered a NHS discojnt which was a bonus.
The delivery was as punctial and as scheduled. Unfortunately i ordered during the first month of covid , when the weather was very warm and dry.
My gardener easily laid the lawn without any difficulty. Apart from a few corners the quality was very good.
It's been 4 weeks , and it looks great.
You do need to water well.
Hopefully it continues to flourish . I havent noticed any of the AGM that others have had probs with .

Turf absolutely riddled
Turf absolutely riddled with annual meadow grass as previous reviews have covered. Avoid and look for a better quality turf.
Prompt delivery, good quality topsoil
Ordered some topsoil, arrived within 2 days which was impressive considering the current climate for online orders! Very good delivery service, pallet transported to my door and good quality, well mixed soil. Thanks!
Rolawn useless customer service
After being recommended to Rolawn and also doing research on the internet, I decided to purchase 75 rolls of Medallion turf.
Rolawn’s website is very professional and claims to be Britain’s finest turf so I was really looking forward to receiving an excellent product.
It states:
Rolawn use the highest quality blend of grass seed, sown on the most suitable soil type, combined with highly evolved growing and harvesting techniques to produce an award-winning lawn turf that provides the most suitable performance for the diverse UK climate. Medallion is the only turf in the world treated with our unique, patented Profresh® system which extends its ‘as harvested’ freshness, ensuring it arrives with you in prime condition.
My turf was delivered on the 15th May 20 and I made sure the existing lawn had been removed and the ground prepared perfectly for the new turf.
I arranged for the landscapers to be at my property for the afternoon of delivery because Rolawn recommend getting it rolled out on the day and laid.
The guys laying the lawn immediately noticed that every piece of turf being laid was riddled with Annual Meadow Grass. Britain’s finest turf, I think not.
They laid the complete lawn on the day of delivery. Looking at it, I have a lawn of new meadow grass. It’s shocking, all different colours and looks terrible. Not just the problem with AMG but a few rolls were torn / ripped, different size rolls which made it difficult to lay, not what I was expecting from the best and they also came across approximately a dozen leatherjackets ??. Nightmare for lawns.
So I decided to email rolawn with my concerns / complaint.
The website says to expect a reply within 5 days. I never had a reply so sent another email requesting a reply. To date, I still have not had the courtesy of a reply. This company’s customer service is shocking and awful. They make all these claims to be the best. Promote the website with all the right information to make out you are dealing with a first class company. Let me tell you, they are not.
I am so disappointed with Rolawn and feel like I have been totally ripped off.
I will never recommend this company and I will keep chasing them for a reply.
Totally let down.

I thought this company provided the best general turf. I was wrong. If you review who provides the best turf on an internet search you will generally get recommended rowlawn. These reviews are by commercial companies and in my experience inaccurate. I bought rowlawn turf last October and laid it myself in the garden of a new house on an area which had been left bare for 12 months during the building of the house. In February when it needed cutting I found it was overrun with meadow grass. I tried to manage this for months following all the advice about meadow grass you can find on the internet. It was a loosing battle so I contacted rowlawn on the 2nd May through its website about the problem. With the issues of covid 19 I thought I would give them time to consider my problem and the offer I had made to them. Its own covid 19 page said you should get a response in 5 days. So after 9 days and no response I decided to ring. The first response I got from the operative was that things are taking a little longer due to covid 19. So I confirmed the covid 19 page on its own website confirmed a response time of 5 days. The operative was typing a email to the so called customer services section asking them to respond to my initial email. To date I have still not received a reply. I asked if anybody else had confirmed a similar problem with meadow grass in the turf harvested on the same day! Apparently this detail is not available and all I was told is that meadow grass cannot be controlled and it must have blown in the wind from a neighbouring garden. I suggested that maybe it had blown into the field during the cultivation of the turf. I did not get any clear response. Sometimes things go wrong with the best of products and companies and what makes a good company from a bad company is the level of customer service. You might not get the result you want due to a difference of opinion but at least you get a response and treated with respect. Unfortunately my experience is that you will not get any customer service from this company and I would recommend you look for a more personable company who will be proactive with any issues you may have.

Good initial service but lots of Annual meadow grass
Service and delivery was great. Bought turf and topsoil. However, like alot of other customers the turf (or topsoil) is absolutely riddled with AGM. Their advice is to cut it out but that would require hacking up most of the lawn.
Really disappointed with a supposedly premium product. Wouldn't recommend paying the extra for this
35 rolls of turf
Just over a week later the turf has taken really well and looks healthy although theres a lot of grass with the seeds (annual meadow grass?) theres patches of it every meter or so. Its not what id expect to see on freshly laid turf.
Delivery was on time. A few rolls were thin in places and one at the bottom of the pallet was ripped but it seems to have recovered

Poor customer service
I researched the best seed for my garden and found Rolawn to be the top choice. However, despite its premium price of £20 per 1.5kg box last week, when I went to buy it, they had put up their price to £28 a box. As I need 4 of them, I am unwilling to pay the extra £32.
I called them to ask about the big hike in price and whether it was to do with the Lockdown. I was told that the website price is the price you have to pay and that is that.
I have lots of other lawn products to buy, but will make a point of avoiding this company for all of it. They are in an enviable position compared to many companies at the moment as they are still able to trade. They have chosen to exploit that and increase their prices dramatically. Really disappointing and I hope that others chose to go elsewhere.

Received 2 ton top soil and turf and most impressed with quality,gardener who laid it for me has not worked with as good quality products and will do so again.
Definitely recommend.

Rolawn ProMulch
I ordered bulk bag of Rolawn ProMulch... never buy this absolutely full of contaminants. With every spadeful, I have had to sift through in order to remove shredded plastic, pieces of plant labels, plant ties, fragments of metal and glass. Absolutely shocking. I have stopped using as dread to think what rubbish I am putting in my garden and potential harm to wildlife.
I ordered through Primrose and have sent an email to complain. Waiting for a response.

We had Rolawn medallion turf laid 5…
We had Rolawn medallion turf laid 5 years ago now and were completely unaware that it contained a nylon mesh throughout. When we complained we were told that it degraded (not biodegraded) in 3 - 5 years. This has not been our experience. The netting is completely intact still and shows no sign of weakening. It's impossible to scarify. When the foxes come into our garden and dig they get hold of the netting which pulls up far more of the turf than it would normally as does weeding (the company recommends cutting the netting with scissors when weeding!). Also my son's pet snake got caught in the netting and it took us over half an hour to free him. I would never have bought turf with nylon netting if I had been aware. The website does not make this clear ("may contain oxygrid degradable netting") and in my experience it does not degrade. I would also like some clear information on what it would degrade into if it doesn't biodegrade - is it micro plastics? We have rung the company on a few occasions over the last 5 years but ultimately I'd just like people to be aware that THIS PRODUCT HAS A NYLON GRID THROUGHOUT.

We put a new Rolawn down 2 years ago
We put a new Rolawn down 2 years ago. We must have been unlucky as it was riddled with Meadow Grass. We have spent the last 2 summers cutting out lots of it. We have reduced the PH of the soil but this year it is back with a vengeance. We have now had enough of it and will have to dig it all up. It was in the turf when it was delivered. We have no Meadow Grass in our back lawn so it has not spread.
Others at the time have also complained about the same issue.

Excellent Product and Service
I have been dealing with Rolawn directly for many years now. Their products are of top quality and my most recent purchase was for several tonnes of Blended Loam Topsoil. I have built a great relationship with Emily Kirlkand and her Team and this most recent order went without a hitch, as usual.
The order was delivered on time by one of their Business Partners and the bags were beautifully clean and fresh. Emily advised me there would be a few more small stones in the soil than previously as there have been some changes in sourcing and production techniques. This helped set my expectations, which were exceeded when I got to see the soil. Yes, there are a few more stones in the soil than previously but this is still the best quality soil you can buy in my opinion. Don't be discouraged by a few weeds on the surface of the soil at the top of the bag, or by a few twigs in the soil. This is perfectly normal (the weeds love it because it's such good soil and they establish very quickly!).
I would encourage anyone with a bad experience on here to contact Rolawn Customer Services directly. I have found a proactive approach, listening to their feedback and working with them closely leads to a positive future experience.
Highly recommended!

I just wish I had found this website first.
I bought two tons of Rolawn premium blended topsoil from travis perkins and what a load of rubbish. Full of twigs and compacted plant pot compost.
Looked like it had come from the local council green recycling plant.
I emailed rolawn and sent photos. I was told it met standards.
Do not buy from this outfit, and rolawn don't bother replying with your silly excuses.
£160 down the pan.

I wish I had come on here before I bought anything off these cowboys.
When I purchased from them they were friendly and helpful and I asked if they could deliver one day and I could lay the next. They recommended that it should go straight in so I booked a morning off work and delayed the delivery date so they could deliver first thing in the morning. I paid extra for an am delivery.
Nothing showed up. I called 'very sorry it will be with you between 12 and 2pm. Nothing showed up. I called again, we will call you back as soon as we hear from the hauliers. They didnt. I called again and they obviously hadn't called the hauliers becuase they said oh we thought it had been delivered at 2pm. It is now closer to 4pm, still no ETA. Still no explanation and how am I meant to lay all the top soil and turf before darkness sets in.
Updating this post, as I still haven't recieved the product as the clock ticks towards 5. Phoned the incompetents again, note not once have they called me, this time they told me there is traffic in London and a taxi driver demo. That was yesetrday and with further digging they subcontracted the job out, but didnt even know which depot. I phoned around and it is actually coming from sevenoaks 20 minutes from my house in Kent and nowhere near Kent. The sub contracted company said it isnt one of their drivers and they have no tracking but he is useless and they have been phoning him all day. So a sub contractor of a sub contractor.
Update: the turf finally arrived at 5 pm. It was already yellowing. The driver apologised and said he didn't pick it up until 2:30 pm. So I was clearly lied to earlier in the day. I managed to lay half of it Friday night and the rest Sunday. Let's see if it survives. Oh and if you are reading this rolawn rebating me 50 percent of the cost is the right thing to do. Given I only had time to lay 50 percent of your turf.

First class turf
I’ve read a lot of negative reviews on this website but I have to say Iam very impressed with the product and service I have received from Rolawn! The turf is excellent and rooting well after only just a week and the delivery was within the time frame I asked for and the driver was very polite and helpful! Can’t rate them high enough
Not Impressed by Fusarium Infected Turf
I had a new lawn professionally laid last November; old grass stripped, 350 sqm of Rolawn turf, 10 cubic mtr top soil, properly rotovated etc. so far not impressed with the turf used. Over winter at least 50% of it is infected with Fusarium and has died. The rest is very patchy but with the dead areas look like a cow field. Given the large expenditure (several thousands) I was expecting a smart new lawn instead I've got loads of work to turn the mess around and the professionals will probably have to come and top dress and overseed the lot. Effort for me and effort for them but it's the product that's bad.
