Really good on the day but didn't fix properly..aftercare awful very upsetting...

After initial breakdown my driver and crew were seen too withing a 4 hour window and then after diagnosis of battery replacement we were asked to book for next day. The mechanic came and attended after my call to your offices to expediate the matter as original booking was to a mechanic who was overbooked and it was eventually moved and done earlier. However the mechanic was very helpful throughout.

Dylan was professional and such a joy to work with on my car, since I am a more mature adult. He was patient and very considerate. A real asset to RAC!

The battery was ordered by your colleague on Sunday, for delivery on Tuesday morning. At noon on Tuesday I phoned and informed that it would be delivered between 2 and 5pm, which I thought was ridiculous has waited all the morning. Your colleague did some further checking and said it would arrive between 3 and 5pm. When asked where it was being sent from, I was it was from Bilston and your colleague would let me know more closer to the time. Just before 3pm the battery arrived and the mechanic said that they were from Telford, much much closer to me than Bilston. Can you get a colleague to phone me and explain how you are still in business with such an inefficient organisation system and advise me if the AA or Green Flag any better.
With regards to the reply from the RAC, you only stated information that was not given to me at the time of ordering i.e. ''However, your booking on Tuesday was scheduled within our all-day appointment window, which runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm. While we understand waiting can be frustrating, the appointment was booked within this timeframe. For customers who require a more specific arrival window, we also offer a paid first appointment slot between 9:00am and 10:30am.''
L You also missed out on my main issues:
1. I was originally told the battery could be delivered
on Monday, which not convenient for me, I was told it would be delivered on Tuesday morning ,not between 9am and 5pm, the offer of a time slot between 9am and 10:30 was not mentioned.
2. Why was the original delivery planned from Bilston (over 30 miles away) instead of being sent from one of your agents in Telford e.g. your garage in Halesfield, less than 10 miles away in the first place?
3. You ignored my request for performance information between yourselves and your competitors (surely you must have this information).
4. Most of all you did not have the courtesy to phone me to discuss the issues. I might be old fashioned, but as an 81 year old, Face to face communication is the best, followed a telephone call, a very poor third option being email as chosen by you.
If you wish to discuss this further to convince me that the RAC is still my best option, you can visit my house have a cup of coffee and discuss this face to face (you have my address) or you can phone me (you have mobile number) if you are not capable or too timid to use the above options, please send me a letter so we can carry on the discussion at length through the post.
I feel that email is the most impersonal method of communication and should only be used if the other options are not available. I look forward to a visit from you or a personal telephone call as soon as convenient. Regards, Peter.

Great, home service at the same time you can talk to mechanics and you can see what his doing, great experience!

Brilliant service and incredibly convenient having the mechanic come directly to me. Turned up as arranged, was knowledgeable and got everything sorted efficiently. Saved a lot of time and hassle compared with taking the vehicle into a garage.

I would like to say a big thank you to the RAC Mobile mechanic who serviced my car today. This is already the second year I’ve had my car serviced by him, and once again I’m very impressed with his work. He is an excellent mechanic — very professional, friendly, polite and reliable. He takes his time to do the job properly and explains everything clearly. You can tell that he really cares about his work and his customers. I’m very happy with the service and I feel confident knowing my car is in good hands. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a professional and trustworthy mechanic.
