One star because of a very specific problem that won't impact on most people, but it is what it is. I got a brand new car, so its not on the DVLA system, and its also a new variant of a new car, so its not avaialble to select on the RAC online system but a model that appears to be exactly it is available so I select it. Only after paying are you sent the full insurance certificate and I notice one detail that is wrong, it says estate and its actually a hatchback. Everything else is correct. So I call and assume they can just amend it but no, after wasting nearly an hour on the phone for which I am charged aside from the inconvenience, (nearly seven to eight minutes was listening to irrelevent standard messaging all misaligned to what I was calling about) they then tell me they can't insure it. OK says I, just cancel it, fine says RAC but there's a charge to cancel a policy I've held for less than an hour and which wasn't live until two days later! I couldn't believe it. So just be aware that if for any reason you need to cancel, even if you took out the policy 10 minutes prior, these guys will charge you aside from the failure to quote for my car (which was nothing unusual, it's a major brand, etc.). Compare this to Hastings Direct who were slightly more expensive BUT answer their phones in a few rings and could tweak their own quoting system to enable them to accommodate this brand new model of car, all good. As I said at the start, specific circumstances here that maybe won't apply to most but nevertheless it was a multiple service failure.

My car insurance renewal was a cost effective and efficient process. The representative that I spoke too was very helpful and explained the various elements of the policy so that I fully understood the contents for the document. Easy decision to pay the premium.

The renewal was straightforward, I always feel a little hard done by as I have 3 cars insured through RAC but do not seem to benefit.

The person I dealt with initially was very understanding, helpful and extremely courteous.

Very poor customer service they do not reply to emails as someone else said. they are saying not informed about a claim which they said they had checked on CUE. And then they said premium increased I Have contacted previous insurers and no claim was made on that supposed date

RAC kept me updated with insurance renewal reminders in plenty of time. The premium price had only increased by a small amount. This stopped me from checking the market to look for a better deal. In the past, insurance companies have increased the price substantially prompting me to check the market. Then after calling the current company. They could magically offer me a lower price.
