Terrible customer service. Order never arrived
I had ordered shoes from the company in No ember and over 6 months later these are still yet to arrived. the customer service is appalling with nobody getting back to me after months of emailing and messaging on instagram. I am officially raising a dispute with my credit card company unless i hear a reply back within the next week as i don’t want to lose £300+ pounds.
Don’t bother
Ordered a jacket at the beginning of the year, fully expected a wait as it stated pre-order. Fast forward 3 months, multiple emails and absolutely no communication and i still have no jacket. I have now raised a dispute with Paypal as I don’t want to lose the £700+ i have paid.

Almost four months since my purchase
Almost four months since my purchase. No communication, no explanation, no update....nothing. I spent almost $700 on a pair of boots. It's a scam
Stay away from this company.
Summary: They tried to scam me repeatedly.
Didn't ship out my order. After numerous attempts at emailing for a response after waiting months for any update, they lied to me saying it was an error with their order system and that they were out of stock and would ship it in 2 weeks. Waited another month with no updates, I requested a refund. They ghosted me and I had to file a dispute with PayPal to get my money back. Deplorable behavior considering it was a nearly $500 pair of boots. Glad I got my money back and took it elsewhere.

I have recently come across a number of reviews where misleading comments have been made about customers receiving their orders late.
In view of the fact that several customers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the company's lack of communication and information about non-delivery or forgotten orders.
Then, I have serious doubts about the sincerity and lucidity of these previous reviews, which I consider to be misleading, especially as these reviews are being published little by little after several complaints.
Thank you to readers for only taking into account the 1-star reviews, as the latest positive reviews are misleading in order to improve the image of this scam company.

A Loyal Customer’s Deep Disappointment – Be Cautious Before Ordering This Jacket
I’ve been a longtime supporter and customer of From The First — proudly owning multiple pairs of their boots and consistently praising their design and craftsmanship to friends and colleagues. I’ve genuinely admired the brand and believed in its vision. That’s why this review is hard to write, but I feel compelled to share my experience to protect future customers.
This was my very first time purchasing clothing from From The First — specifically, the Classic Lambskin Biker Jacket - Black Leather - IT 46 | US 36. I placed my order in good faith, understanding the stated 12-week delivery window. But the jacket was never shipped. Not once did I receive any communication, update, or explanation for the delay.
Even worse, my repeated outreach — emails, customer service inquiries, and direct attempts to contact Joshua Klein, the Creative Director — were completely ignored. No acknowledgment. No accountability. Just silence.
Eventually, I had no choice but to involve my financial institution and pursue fraud protection to attempt to recover the funds they had already taken. As someone who rarely leaves negative reviews, it pains me to share this — but I do so out of principle and in hopes of saving others the same distress.
To be clear: I am still open and hopeful that From The First will rectify this experience and make things right — ideally by delivering the jacket I ordered, or honoring it as a gesture of good faith. But until then, I urge anyone considering this item or other clothing from the brand to proceed with extreme caution. You may or may not receive your item — and you may be forced to chase down your money with no help from the company.
The integrity of a brand is not just in its design — it’s in how it treats its most loyal customers when something goes wrong.

I ordered two belts
I ordered two belts, one was a preorder. It’s been six months since I made the order and have had no update on when they will ship. I have emailed customer service around 10 times, no reply. I managed to get one message from their instagram account apologising for the delay about 6 weeks ago but still nothing. It’s very disappointing as I have heard great things about their products

I ordered a pair of "Diego" boots 11/29 for their Black Friday sale. Besides the welcome email, I have received no communication from them. I have emailed, but I haven't gotten a response yet. I am now disputing the charge with my PayPal and credit card. Nearly $500 down the drain.

I have ordered boots from this brand in 2020 and 2021 without problems, but it seems that something is wrong now.
I preordered a pair of boots end of November, money was charged but have as of yet not heard anything despite sending numerous mails. DM’s on their social media is ignored and comments on their posts get hidden from others than me (have checked from friends accounts).
I see others have had the same experience recently.
I got my money back by contacting my bank and making a credit card claim.
Update, October 2025: The brand is still active with sales on their website and on Instagram despite having scammed so many people. Just read the numerous reviews.
Bought a pair of boots in November…
Bought a pair of boots in November 2024. They turned up promptly but unfortunately a bit too big, this is where the issues started.
Took several weeks emailing the "support" email to sort an exchange. Label finally sent at the start of Jan 2025 and sent with clear instructions to exchange for a size down or refund (if size not in stock).
Complete radio silence from then on. I know the shoes had arrived at the owners personal home within a couple of days. Multiple emails and follow ups on social media, still no response.
Fortunately the owner: Josh, had put his personal phone number on the return label so I used that to call him and sort a refund. He claimed they had "email issues" which judging by other reviews have been going on for a while!
I also think this company is highly likely to be drop shipping, hence the long quoted lead times for others.
It's clearly a one man band with "Josh" running the whole operation, albeit incredibly poorly.
I would 100% avoid this brand at all costs. I ended up going to SLP and even though it was more expensive, it was well worth it for the quality.
Go elsewhere, they don't deliver
Ordered Luca boots on 31 march 24 for £338. Not delivered and no response since July from From the First. Queried delivery in April 24 and was told the boots were custom order, not made clear, and would be 3 months. Queried July and was told they were running late and needed another month. Heard no more despite numerous emails, Facebook, Shop portal messages.

My advice, go elsewhere, there are plenty of quality providers. If you must,, nort pay by credit card and claim on it if they have not delivered in 2 months. They respond within the card claim period, then nothing.
Buyer beware
Buyer beware, this company is fraudulent. I purchased 3 pairs of shoes from them, totaling over $1,200 in merchandise and nothing was delivered. The first pair I ordered in July, 2024, and the second and third pairs in September, 2024. Not only did nothing ship, but they responded to zero of the 10+ emails I periodically sent to them, checking in to ask about a shipping date.
Furthermore, I went to their social media pages to DM their official accounts. I sent DMs to check in about shipping, and saw that they had 'read' the message, but didn't reply. I also left comments on their posts asking about shipping dates, and even though my comments were visible to myself, when I asked a friend if he saw my comments, he said he did not. This means they must be seeing my comments and shadow-banning them.
They also regularly post updated marketing posts to their instagram account, meaning they continue to advertise their goods while actively ignoring customers who have made purchases with them.
This is clearly criminal activity, and corroborated by the other poor reviews on Trust Pilot for FromTheFirst which all tell similar stories.

I ordered 3 boots with this company in September 2024 and it is now more than 3 months without any boots shipped. I reached out to Joshua and no response either. This is clearly a scam. they took the money and disappeared. I read reviews and learned that there are so many people in the same situation like me. Avoid do not buy from this seller as he is a scam!
These boots aren't made for walking
I'm a bit sad to be writing this review to be honest, because my first experience of From the First was very good, and the boots (Diego's) that I bought are beautiful.
When I was considering them, I emailed to ask whether they were more like a dress boot or a classic cowboy boot in terms of how they would wear in - I wanted to actually wear them on a day-to-day basis, rather than only rocking them out at weddings. I was reassured that they were somewhere inbetween and weren't designed to just be worn as a one-off.
Unfortunately that hasn't been the case. I bought the boots 6 months ago and have maybe worn them once a week (if that). I'm not walking miles in these - sort of back and forth to the pub type wear. It was quickly apparent that the boots don't like pavements. A thin film started peeling off the soles after the first wear, which wasn't hugely concerning, but was unusual. Then after 6 months of reasonable wear, the heels have worn through and fallen off and I'm having to get them replaced. If these were a cheap pair of boots I wouldn't be so concerned, but they cost £400 - they're the most expensive shoes I've ever bought.
I emailed From the First a month ago. They asked for photos, which I sent, and then just blanked me. I sent follow up emails, which have been ignored. Bearing in mind that responses were immediate when I was a potential sale, I can't help but be cynical.
A few years ago I had an issue with some much-cheaper boots from Loake, who went out of their way to repair them at no cost, up to a year after the sale. This is the sort of customer service I would expect from a high-quality boot maker. Unfortunately my experience of From the First is that they are not interested in supporting customers who have having issues, or defects in their products, but in making sales.
As I say, a shame to have to leave this review, but I gave plenty of opportunity to make it right and that hasn't happened.
