We have just come home from our 2nd trip through Beach Retreats. Its so easy to book, the apartments/holiday homes are just perfect and any problems have been resolved very easily with no hassle. Really great agency! Highly recommend! And you get 5% of you next holiday booked through them, which is even better!

Yet another amazing stay with Beach Retreats. We have stayed at Waves in Watergate Bay for many years, but this was the first time we stayed at the Village in Mawu. The accommodation and location was amazing, with great views. We had a couple of small issues but these were rectified quickly by Beach Retreats.

Our beach retreats property at 9 The Waves in Watergate bay was exactly as advertised. We had a great stay and the apartment at the Waves had everything you need. We would highly recommend this dog friendly location.

Firstly the apartment is lovely and has a great view of the beach . We were hugely disappointed with Beach retreats and the area.

The owner decided to reduce the prices for all of 2023 & 2024 the day we came home. It wasn’t just a small amount, it was 1k less for next week and over 1k for the same week we booked next year . In fact, we paid more for our week than the price now in August, peak season . Not just a bit- but by £800 . I feel totally robbed !!! Please check your pricing if you have booked here .

Secondly - BE WARNED OF THE ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR around the apartments. Google the beach and apartments . You’ll see a bunch of recent stories come up about how bad things are there . We had abuse from a group of youths hanging by the doors smoking drugs. They wanted the code to get into the building and gave me abuse. . The children were horrified as they hounded me .

Don’t plan on any sleep at weekends either. Youths congregate in the hundreds causing trouble . Police do monitor the area but the youths ignore their pleas.
My advice - stay in St Ives where there is a better class of people. Also, book with a good professional company who look after their customers and do not completely rip them off .

We had a wonderful stay at 26 The Liner in Falmouth. Two weeks later I received an email from Beach Retreats saying that the property manager had found a mark from a cup/glass on a bedside table and my £250 cautionary deposit would be withheld. They had already contacted the owner, who wanted the entire bedside cabinet replaced.

As we had not caused the mark, I asked for photo evidence. This was sent to me and the photos were timestamped, showing that they had been taken a week after we had left. Therefore marks left by another family, who arrived at the apartment the week after us. To see the time stamp you need to save any photos to your own camera roll and press the circled i character, to reveal the metadata.

I feel that Beach Retreats acted unprofessionally and possibly dishonestly. They were unwilling to listen to the voice of the customer and seemed adamant at getting additional money from the let at any cost. They made no apology for trying to illegitimately withhold the deposit from us and just said the that the owner had changed their mind about charging.

My advice to guests would be to video/ photograph everything in the apartment when you arrive and when you leave to ensure this doesn’t happen to you. Another option is contract your credit card company to pursue a charge back claim if your cautionary deposit is withheld for damage that you know is not your fault. Plus always scrutinise photos to see when they really were taken.

A holiday is supposed to be about relaxing, not worrying about how much money the letting agency will try to make out of you on top of your holiday cost when you leave.

We will not be rebooking again through Beach Retreats and their response here, leaving the blame at the owner's door does not provide me with any confidence.

Had a wonderful stay at No' 2 the beach, cliff top apartments Porthtowan Cornwall . Excellent kitchen, supplied with all that we needed, fantastic views over the beach and sea, easy booking online, have used Beach Retreats before and will in the future.

Never booked with beach retreats before but would again and definitely recommend.
Stayed in a beautiful modern property in Mawgan Porth called Seahorses. Spotlessly clean. Had everything from board games to all sorts of kitchen equipment. Wonderful little garden with lovely seating area, very peaceful. Went in June and weather was great so we were lucky to be a very short walk to the lovely Sandy beach at Mawgan Porth. Booking was done on phone. Very helpful when l asked for things to do in the area. Nothing was too much bother.

Easy to book good communication. House in Mawgan Porth was in a great location, very well equipped and internally clean. We reported balcony & all the furniture / table had not been cleaned at all, was very dirty with cobwebs needed an intense clean. All four legs of the outdoor sofa are dangerously rusted, cracked and deteriorating. Sadly this was not addressed during our stay which was disappointing as 1 week stay was in excess of £1800. Additionally we were not allowed to check in until 4:30pm! Check out 10am. Found the expectation to report any damages on entry within 24hrs shouldn’t be the responsibility of holiday makers especially when there were numerous chips and scrapes. Sadly this de-personalised the experience for us and for these reasons we wouldn’t use BR again as money making is the ultimate motivator here not the customer experience.

Great customer service and ease of booking over the phone. Very friendly and helpful. Easy check in and check out. We stayed at Tides Watch overlooking Fistral Beach. The apartment was a real home from home and spotlessly clean. Had a fantastic holiday. Would 100% recommend.

Great communication and spotless property.

The properties are excellent, responded quickly to all enquiries and questions. We stayed at Romanov in Mawgan Porth which was absolutely beautiful. The house is so well equipped with everything you need and those you don't but would love to have. 2 points that Beach Retreats could address is to ensure any restrictions are listed on the advertisement for the property. We took 2 dogs and they were not allowed in the lounge. Bedrooms I expected but the lounge isn't usually out of bounds, we only found this out after paying the final payment. The other point is the breakage deposit which is taken when paying the balance 8 weeks before arrival. In our case it was £500 which is a lot of money to pay in addition to the holiday cost. 8 weeks plus the 7 to 10 days to receive a refund is a long time to hold a breakages deposit. That said Romanov is a beautiful house and would highly recommend, families with toddlers might find the garden a challenge but for older children and adults it's superb.

Easy to book, and great location ... my only criticism is please allow earlier check in and later check out, you lose a whole day of enjoying this great location.

When the apartment we wished to book in Cornwall wouldn’t permit two dogs, Beach Retreats contacted other owners in the same block and provided us with an alternative, which was wonderful. Our dealings with the company were excellent and our breakage deposit swiftly returned after we’d left. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a rental property in the area.

We booked a lovely holiday through beach retreats and well it did not disappoint ! we booked Romanov, cornwall and the house and its surroundings are excellent! The views from the house are magnificent and the house was beautifully clean and very well equipped. Lynette,the house keeper was very helpful and does a fantastic job at maintaining the house. She even offers home made pasties for your stay, which are delicious and highly recommended. We went for the 1st week of May, so the weather was on our side but even on a rainy We still went for cliff top walks and went in the hot tub. I have already booked to return again next year.

I recently had the pleasure of have taking an extended stay in a property booked through beach retreats. The property itself was spotless, beautifully furnished, well equipped and in the perfect location. I found the pricing to be very competitive with the added value of having a company on hand should you have any issues. Beach retreats were quick to respond to any questions I had and were also very helpful during my stay without being invasive. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend to family and friends for any future bookings based on the excellent service I received.

Whilst we had a couple of disappointing issues at Sea Spray in Perranporth, they were resolved fairly and the house is a great property and location.

One of our guests fell out of the top bunk when the safety bar failed. He was left with a mild head injury and a bruises / cuts on his leg. To add insult to injury they are charging us for it. Beach retreats avoiding all responsibility saying our contract is with the owners, not them.

We have now booked and stayed through Beach retreats 4 times, fantastic selection of properties on their website, every property has been really easy to find with instructions provided and absolutely spotless on arrival, cannot fault the company and their service whatsoever.
