We have been coming to Porth for several years now and have yet to find any problems with the apartments offered by Beach Retreats. The apartments are beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you need for a great holiday. They provide comprehensive instructions to ensure there are no issues with getting to, and accessing the properties. We always enjoy our stays, the views are spectacular, we never want to leave!

We booked our week on line but because we wanted additional information we also rang Beach Retreats. The apartment we had chosen was Port, The Liner in Falmouth. Beach Retreats were really helpful, friendly and informative. Not only was the apartment a great place in which to stay with safe parking, a comfortable bed, and good quality furniture and fittings but it also had a wonderful view out over Gyllyingvase Beach from the balcony with its table and chairs, which was a lovely place to sit and eat and drink.

Beach Retreats excelled themselves with the amount of information they provided and had there been any problems we would not have hesitated to ask for their help in resolving them. We both felt that this was the best holiday Company we had ever booked through. Their level of service is exceptional. We would not hesitate to book through this Comany again.

This is not a complaint about the accommodation as, due to a change in personal circumstances, we have had to cancel our booking.
This is more a warning for people to CHECK the company DEPOSIT REFUND POLICY. We paid a 33% deposit (over £1500) 2 months ago which is non-refundable even though we have given 7 months notice of cancellation. There are no exceptions it would seem.
Our fault for misreading/misunderstanding the terms. They haven’t done anything that they don’t warn you they’ll do but it does leave a very bad taste in your mouth.
We expect to be liable for some cancellation fee but that’s a lot of money/very high percentage of total holiday cost for them to keep especially when being given so much notice of cancellation.
The person dealing with my emails was very polite but just reiterated their policy. We have learned a big lesson from it. Check the terms carefully.
Addendum: I received a very nice email from the Managing Director of Beach Retreats. The terms haven’t changed and we have still lost our deposit (our fault as explained above) but we acknowledge and appreciate him reaching out.

The apartment (26, the Liner) was great! It was very clean, extremely comfortable and has everything you need and much more! Falmouth is a fantastic place, the location of the apartment right on the sea/beach is absolutely marvellous! We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

This was our second stay with Beach Retreats, as our first stay with them in Cawsand was excellent, and entirely lived up to expectations, but this time was, sadly, an entirely different experience. We stayed at Haven Retreat in picturesque Gorran Haven on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall, for a week over Easter, a four bed 4 bath modern high end property with hot tub. The tub was a main selling point for the property, but it was found damaged on arrival on the Saturday, with panels missing which were strewn around the garden, the water was a murky green with a pond like smell, a brown ring was at water level, and garden debris at the bottom. We contacted both the maintenance company and Beach Retreats immediately. A friendly maintenance guy turned up on the Monday to rectify, but even after a second visit the water remained green and unpleasant. It was unusable for the duration of our stay. All the beds in the property are equipped with cheap TV memory foam mattresses and hollow-fibre pillows. Not exactly high end. The main bathroom (wet room) shower leaked dangerously through the ceiling and its multitude of lights into the living room, so we couldn’t use that again. There are obvious brown damp patches on the first floor ceiling, only one working battery pack for the electrical blinds, the pétanque terrain (another advertised feature) was overgrown and lacked any equipment, the gutters were all blocked, overflowed in the rain, and had plant life growing in them, but most upsetting for my teenage daughters the WiFi range was limited to the living room or the ‘games room’ (a carpeted garage with a reduced sized table tennis table - broken balls but serviceable bats - and a tv). The entire property appeared neglected for an offering at this price point (£4,000+ PW peak summer) and they hadn’t even bothered to cut the grass. In the end we gave up and left a day early. We put our concerns and complaints to Beach Retreats, along with all the photographic evidence, who asked what we thought was fair recompense, and I proposed that a 33% refund seemed equitable. This was outwardly rejected by the owner, and a derogatory 15% discount on a future stay at ‘Haven Retreat’ was countered. Needless to say we will not be returning to this poorly designed car showroom (all glass walls and no view), and are unlikely to use Beach Retreats again as such a hit-and-miss approach to precious holiday time is too unnerving. There wasn’t even a potato peeler.

We really enjoyed our stay at Beach Retreats, Porthtowan. The apartment was perfect, lovely sea view from the balcony and it was spectacular listening to the waves crashing against the rocks whilst drifting off to sleep. It was just the break we needed and have returned home reset and rested.

The location is perfect for exploring some of Cornwall's most idyllic beaches. We'll most definitely be making a return soon.

A fantastic company who never fail to deliver. I have been staying in Beach Retreat accommodations for years and am always blown away by their correspondence and quality of their homes.

It was spotlessly clean on arrival. The views were to die for. The welcome box and fresh milk was a nice touch.
It had everything you needed to enjoy your stay, loved the piano in the hallway. Was in a great location and our furbaby loved it.
Will definitely return.

What an amazing place! We arrived in rain due to the time of year and were greeted with a beautifully decorated, warm cabin with background music. Comfy beds, out of this world views and plenty of space. The property had everything we needed and more. We loved being remote enough for it to be peaceful but not far from great beaches, amenities and seaside towns. Thank you!

n the pictures the property looked lovely - the reality was even better. The attention to detail and the quality of everything added to the luxury. The position of the property was superb - amazing wall to wall views of the beach and light and sun drenched balcony.

From start to finish we have thoroughly enjoyed staying at 26 Waves, beautifully furnished and fully equipped with everything you might need. It even inspired me to update my own home interiors!
The bed was super comfortable, we both have back issues, so we were very happy.
Bathroom was sparkling clean and shower was good.
We appreciated all the homely touches that obviously the owner was happy for all to enjoy.
The fact that the apartment is literally minutes on foot to the beach & restaurants, really made a difference to our stay as we didn't have to use the car as much, and the bus stop is right outside! 😊

We had a wonderful stay at Iona, the house is beautiful and in a great location. The house met all our needs, with a mix of bedrooms on the ground and upper floor giving us space and accessibility. The house is very welcoming with stylish and luxury furnishings. We took our two dogs so being a few steps from the coastal path was great for us. Access to beautiful walks and easy reach to the beach was a big appeal. The views over the bay and beyond were stunning. I would highly recommend this house and would love to return.

The quality of cookware and cooking facilities were fantastic. All of the beds were super comfortable and all linens provided were perfect.
The location was great and we were able to walk to all off the local landmarks as well as Crantock (which is so lovely) and definitely worth a visit.

The property was extremely good quality and views of the beach were incredible. The mattresses were perfect and quality of the bedding as towels was high.
Kitchen equipment and utensils exceeded expectations.
The general feel of the property was of high quality.
The apartment complex also offered a quiet and safe environment.
Our holiday was very peaceful and we felt like we stayed in luxury.

We had a fabulous week once again this year staying at the Waves, Watergate Bay, which we booked through Beach Retreats, from great waves to great sunsets, already planning next year!

Excellent holiday in Mawgan Porth village, the staff at Beach Retreats were so helpful, from initial booking to assisting when we locked our keys in the property!
One of the last of the independent companies in Cornwall, sadly most of them seem to have been bought up by Sykes :(
The property was stunning and situated right on the coast path and within walking distance to the beach, shops and pub!
We shared the big property with my parents and sisters family, there was ample room and just as described in the website.

Having booked through Beach Retreats for a number of years - you can tell they have got too big. Properties are not a good as they use to be, they don’t seem to care when there are issues with properties rented. For the price of their rentals you can go to Spain for 2 weeks. I will definitely be using air bnb and VRBO moving forward
