Jesse…not sure of date
The service person Jesse was extremely helpful and corrected face mask size without being asked. Jesse answered all questions without making me feel dumb. Would see her again if needed.
extremely poor service
extremely poor service. I called 3036492290 and after a while it cut me off. I called 1 800 7801508 same thing
I called corporate and have multiple locations to identify. I have tried to order supplies for 4 months and give up frustrated.
Don't try to make a return
If I could, I would give Apria Direct zero stars. We were taken in because Medicare uses Apria for delivering health supplies. We were sold duplicate items that we paid for out of pocket. We attempted to return the duplicate and more than a month later they are still awaiting a return label from the manufacturer. We finally disputed the charge with our credit card company. I should have checked trust pilot before I made the purchase!
Dishonest/deceptive/unethical billing
Dishonest/deceptive/unethical billing. Initially they say approved by insurance. 6 months later state insurance no approved and say to return product. After 6 months after giving approval, really?????
If I could give zero stars, I would
Terrible customer service, zero accountability. I just received the wrong equipment for the THIRD time. They don't care about getting me the right equipment. Just about getting the other wrong orders back and billing my insurance company. Oh, and all of their online billing technology is outdated. I genuinely can't imagine running a company this badly and being able to sleep at night.
They Use ILLEGAL & DECEPTIVE Methods
After receiving a $75 payment from my insurance company the pria delivered personally and nebulizer to me. That's because you have to sign a tablet confirming that you received it. Why not use FedEx or UPS or return receipt requested?
That's because you're not signing a confirmation of deliverythey are illegally having you signed a rental agreement. Just rental agreement stated they were charging $100 a month for this nebulizer. My insurance coverage 75 of it they wanted me to pay the other 25
You can get this nebulizer at any medical supply store for the average price of $23. Since receiving it I received emails from them every single day asking for their money they want me to sign the agreement online again and there's no way to refuse it there's no email address for them there's no way to get them to come pick it up or anything .
Apria makes it impossible to pay your…
Apria makes it impossible to pay your bill on line jeopardizing the health of every patient!
Apria Healthcare trying to charge my 5 X the cots of a new Bipap Machine
I had a Bipap machine for severe sleep apnea. It was billed through my insurance and Apria have confirmed they received $3,755.70 from my insurance company. This is about $1,000 more than the actual cost of a new machine. I canceled my insurance and then April billed me $617. When I asked them if this was the balance of the cost of the machine, which I would have been fine paying, they told me no, this is a monthly rental for the next 15 months. This would total $9,200 plus the $3,755.70 they already received, so $12,975. This equals the retail cost of 5 BiPap machines. I know this as when I returned this one to Apria, I bought a new one online. Their approach to this has been appalling. They are trying to gouge me for a machine that they have already received full payment, plus extra for the machine and are now hounding me for this $617 which would total the cost of two brand new machines with what was already paid. I am appalled by this severe gouging and cannot believe they thought they could get way with charging 5 x the amount of a new machine.
Worst Insurance billing service ever
Worst Insurance billing service ever. I have had the same insurance for the past 20 years. After my local c-pap supply service closed I was switched to Apria. I am supposed to receive new supplies every 3 months. Every single time I am billed for a co-pay even though I have met maximum out of pocket with the insurance company. This company also rakes the insurance company over the coals by charging multiple times the amount that the supplies can be purchased for at other suppliers. Stay away from this company at all costs.
I would rate them a zero if I could
I would rate them a zero if I could. A lot of billing discrepancies and billing me for amounts I didn't owe. I had to get my insurance involved to prove to them I didn't owe them some of the money they were billing me for. I sent them proof that I didn't owe them money on a bill and they sent me to a collection agency anyway.
Go somewhere else if possible...
Up until this year, they also struggled with making their patient profile website editable by patients. To update a credit card, you had to call Apria. I don't trust them with my credit card info.
Apria subscribed me to recurring PAP supplies without my knowledge, then made it difficult to return them when they arrived. Now they sent me an unusable return label.
When I asked if my data was affected by a recent data breach at Apria, they denied having a data breach.
DME ordered from Apria
DME ordered from Apria. No equipment, no explanation and no call saying they canceled order. I had to scramble to get equipment for my wife who has a broken hip. DO NOT USE THIS company,(apria).
Apria is top 3 WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE!
It is hard to believe a company that is this brain dead, unresponsive, and customer hostile continues to be in business. CPAP machines have become quite the money making industry….and presumably there is lots of competition…so IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE AVOID THIS COMPANY…unless you are suffering from low blood pressure that you wish to raise through frustration vs medicine….Save yourself the time and heartache!
This has to be worst company I have…
This has to be worst company I have ever dealt with. Every order I receive has been incorrect. The online portal could not find my account so I tried to talk to a real person just to pay a bill. That went horribly wrong also. English was not her first language, and reading from the scrip was not helping. The credit card processing did not function either stuck in a loop and then back to customer service with the same script and back to the credit card processing and back. I almost has a stroke and I still was not able to pay my bill. I am done with this company!
Fradulant Billing Practices
The business practices of this company is very close to (if not already) fraudulent practices. The bill you for the supplies that they sent without your knowledge and which you have sent them back.
They also charge you multiple times for the same services.
They are the worst company they don’t…
They are the worst company they don’t care about anyone. I’ve been waiting over 24 hours for them to drop off a working oxygen machine. I caught customer service. They didn’t care they put me on hold for over an hour and then got mad at me for asking for a working machine, do not trust them. This company needs to be shut down.
Legal Notification of Disputed Apria Billing
Legal Notification of ongoing Disputed Billing and possible Medicare Fraud
TO: Apria Health Care
10141 USA Today Way
Miramar, FL 33029
If you are a Collection Agency contacting me on behalf of Apria Healthcare, be advised that any billing from Apria is in DISPUTE and I have also filed for an investigation into Apria for Medicare Fraud regarding its spurious billing on its “lease to own” equipment. In a recorded phone call in February both Apria service reps acknowledged that Apria has failed to provide me with any signed document showing a lease to own agreement. They refused to accept my check for the final $48 payment for month 12 of the 12 month lease claiming such payment must come from my insurer because the lease agreement is technically with them. Unbeknownst to me, Apria had been charging my Insurer Aetna $48 a month on a 12 month lease to own billing which Aetna had paid. However since I switched insurers in month 12, from Aetna to Humana Care Plus, the Apria service reps claim Apria cannot sent the last remaining $48 bill for the last month of the supposed 12 month lease to buy agreement to Humana Care Plus, because then the 12 month lease to own would have to start all over again with the new insurer. Apria failed to submit a claim to my new insurer Care Plus. Then Apria began billing me exorbitant amounts for a monthly rental that I have NOT agreed to. Obviously a scam and a violation of Medicare Billing policy which denies a provider from billing a patient without processing thru insurance first. Now it is too late for Apria to submit a claim to Humana Care Plus because they waited too long.
Fortunately for Apria, WHEN they PROVIDE sufficient documentation of a SIGNED lease to own agreement as they promised, I am still willing to pay the final $48 on the last month of the lease to own. I am still awaiting Apria’s provision of the signed lease to own document they claim they have, but have NOT sent to me as they stated they would do over 3 months ago. I never signed nor recall any such document. When my doctor gave me the medical CPAP equipment, I asked if I owed any co-pay and the receptionist replied. “NO everything is paid for by your insurance.” She did have me sign a receipt for proof that I had received the equipment, however there was NO indication or explanation providing that receipt was for a lease to own policy, nor was I provided a copy.
You are hereby formally informed this Apria billing is in legal dispute and constitutes possible Medicare Fraud; therefore by Federal Law you are prohibited from reporting this to any credit agency. To do so will result in both Federal and Civil prosecution. You are also informed to stop contacting me until such time as this dispute is legally settled or Apria is charged with Medicare Billing violations or Fraud.
Thank you, Carl Buehler May 9, 202

STOP! Do not choose Apria!!!!!!
Do not trust this company with your business. Google their history and legal problems. This company told me if you switch insurance they start rebilling without giving past credited months towed ownership. WHAT?? Absorbent prices also.
When asked for a buyout on the machine, due to refusal to continue the monthly payments and honor progress, they immediately eliminate any insurance bills that responded with deductible payments not paid by INSURANCE. I have a witness to my conversations! This is unethical!!!!
This is not a reputable durable medical equipment company. Just because insurance allows them, does not mean you should use them. Be wise and shop around. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS company to provide ethical reasonable fair services !!!!!
Sending out recalled masks with CPAP machines
First, know that their Missouri shipping department is sending out recalled masks with their CPAP machines. I checked the product code. It was a Class 1 FDA recall due to magnets in the mask. They are likely breaking the law. I didn't know this was a recall until last week (about 3 months after receiving).
Initially, my MD sent in an order, I got a text, talked to nobody, signed nothing, and a CPAP machine with this recalled mask showed up at my door one Monday. I called. They tried to get me to sign an online contract that stated I owed twice my copay, I refused to sign, they kept insisting that amount was "what the insurance company owed". I refused to sign it, couldn't download the unsigned contract either. They billed my insurance company over $2000.
It took 3+ weeks before I actually got a respiratory therapist to come over. She brought another mask & showed me a few things on the machine. It wasn't until about 2 weeks ago I found out I didn't have the manual (all I got was a Quick Start Guide) and that was sent to me by email, so I had no clue how to change settings or what most even meant.
It takes 1-2 weeks to even get the respiratory therapist on the phone. They won't set telephone appointment times, so you miss the call. A few times they just didn't call & I had to call back 4-5 days later. They say you have 30 days to make changes. Well, it is impossible because not only does it take forever for this respiratory therapist call, but at least twice somebody from customer service or help line has called the local office to ask questions and "nobody answered the phone".
I saw my MD and she told me they were supposed to measure my face & do a mask fitting. When I asked them about measuring the face, they seem to not even know what I'm talking about. She ordered a new mask because the one brought over wasn't working, the one they sent me caused a sore on side of my nose. Now they are leaving messages that they can't mail it out until they talk to me. Was on hold 20 minutes last week & hung up. Person I got actually asked questions about metal in body, implants, etc. She had me download a program to measure face. Not even the respiratory therapist said anything about this. I need to figure out how to find a new company as this one is awful. Overseas people didn't know what order I was talking about. When they finally transferred me to American I got this person
Apparently supposed to choose #4 for coaching to complete this order.
Please note this FDA recall was a Class 1 back in Dec 2023/Jan 2024. Most serious recall. Has to do with magnets interfering with pacemakers, metal implants, metal in the body, and can even affect a partner sleeping with you if they have this problem. This company never spoke to me, knows nothing about my medical history. They are not legally allowed to mail these out as best I can figure. No warnings. No notices.
APRIA = SCAM ARTISTS
First, all customers who are fed up with Apria’s deceitful billing practices, purposeful late-delivery of requested supplies, and billing charges continuing despite returns should look up the Class Action lawsuits against them! We are not the only victims of Apria’s horrendous customer service. I believe that anyone who works for Apria is buying into their unethical practices. As several of you mentioned, I was also treated with disrespect when I asked to speak with management, I reported them to the BBB. Here’s the DL on my experience…a sleep doctor ordered a CPAP machine through Apria for me in October 2024. The doctor ensured me that I could swap out the first mask with a different one if the first one didn’t work well for me. Well, the mask I ordered made me choke in the middle of the night because it only covered my nose. After one week of horrible sleep, I called Apria to explain the situation and request a new mask (ANY OTHER MASK)! I spoke with a representative several times about my request for a different mask. One month passes without a new mask. Then, two months pass without a new mask. Meanwhile, Apria continued to bill me for renting a CPAP machine that I was not able to use. After three months without a new mask delivery, I took the CPAP machine and the bag and all of the supplies to UPS to return everything to Apria. That was in mid-January 2025. Apria has continued to bill me and my insurance company for the rental of a CPAP machine that I did not have in my possession! Recently, I’ve spent several hours on the phone with representatives from Apria who insisted that the charges were “valid” and repeatedly demanded that I provide them with my credit card information. At that point, I caught on to their tricks and refused to provide them with my credit card. I would rather dispute the charges on my credit report when Apria sends my bill to collections. I have no doubts that my dispute of Apria’s charges on my credit report will result in removal of the charges because Apria will not be able to legitimize the phony charges. People need to do better! It’s highly likely that I have educated children of Apria’s employees and they choose to treat me like I’m an imbecile. What if their children were educated using the same unethical practices that Apria’s employees choose to follow blindly? I’m positive that Apria’s employees would not be pleased if their children received the same level of disrespect that they afforded me. Please report Apria Healthcare to the BBB and state/federal authorities who handle complaints of medical misconduct, I’m also planning to seek a class action lawsuit fo join or initiate against Apria in my state of residence.
