Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service; called and was eventually connected to "Eleanor" who indicated they had the medical device my doctor recommended; she indicated she would be submitting it to Medicare for approval; my doctor faxed all required documents supporting my request and the specific Medicare codes to use; never heard anything for 7 weeks; called several times and got the runaround every time; Eventually found out that they do not carry this device; a complete waste of 2 months as well as my doctor's time in sending them required documentation. If I could provide a ZERO rating, I would have.

If I could give a zero I would

If I could give a zero I would. Paid the $300 then all of sudden we owe 300 more after we receive item. So said cancel give us our money back. Here we sit 2 months later with no machine or money. With lies after lies. They make you feel like your stupid. Absolutely the worst company ever

My experience with Apria Healthcare was horrible

My experience with Apria Healthcare was completely unacceptable. I called to have an order filled and was told they would not help me because I did not purchase my hospital bed from them over two years ago. That explanation made no sense to me, especially considering I was simply trying to get assistance with medical equipment.

When I questioned why that would prevent them from filling my order and asked to speak with someone who could better explain the policy, the representative abruptly hung up on me. No courtesy, no escalation, no attempt to help, and no basic professionalism.

This is exactly the kind of customer service that makes it easy to understand why Apria Healthcare has such a low rating on Google. Patients and customers dealing with medical needs should not be treated like an inconvenience. At the very least, they deserve respect, clear communication, and a willingness to help.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend Apria Healthcare. The way I was treated on the phone was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional

Apria is hands-down the most incompetent company

Apria is hands-down the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with across any industry. Their service is a nightmare for anyone already struggling with health issues. They routinely screw up basic orders, and when equipment finally arrives, it's often old, worn out, or literally falling apart.

The billing department is even worse; I constantly receive "mystery bills" that lack any itemized breakdown of what I am actually being charged for. Trying to get a straight answer from customer service is impossible, as you are passed from one agent to another with no resolution. Their lack of transparency and total disregard for patient safety is predatory. Save yourself the stress and find a different DME supplier that actually respects its customers.

Things that have required fewer phone…

Things that have required fewer phone calls than a CPAP from Apria:
1. Buying houses. The cumulative total of houses I have bought right now is four. Taken all together, it required fewer calls than Apria feels that I need to "make sure I am OK".
2. A divorce. A contentious divorce dragged out over three years, plus follow up sessions required fewer calls.
3. Every car I have ever bought
4. Every parent-teacher conference, and communication from schools, including snow days.
5. A stalker ex-girlfriend.

Seriously Apria, for the love of the maybe-existed little baby Jesus, can you stop with the phone calls? Ho-lee.

An SNL Parody... or a Kafka Novel

This is, without a doubt, the worst company I have ever dealt with. I called Apria to place an order of CPAP supplies in response to an email reminder. The process was excruciating. The agent needed to verify EVERY detail from my profile before proceeding to the ordering process. It took almost 20 minutes. The following day, I received a call (and an email) from Apria, asking me to call them back to "verify a few details." I called again and basically went through the same process as the day before. There was no explanation as to why I needed to verify information that I had already provided when placing my order. Then, about 10 minutes into this interrogation, the agent informed me that the order had been cancelled because they didn't know my mask size. (I had "verified" that the day before as well.) Then, I was told they needed to forward me to ANOTHER agent. After a long wait, I spoke to the next agent, who asked me why I was calling (!). I explained that I had been told to wait to speak with the next agent from the "sales team." This agent was particularly challenged by my account number, which I had to repeat about six times, just to access my account. In the end, she figured it out, but she still needed to verify everything about me again. This entailed the agent slowly reading back to me everything in my profile, including questions that I normally expect from my doctor, such as how many hours I sleep every night. Then, she needed to "verified" my (cancelled) order, which turned out to be for a different CPAP mask altogether! Thus, I had to restart the order with the correct mask name and model number and spell out the specifications for each of the supplies before she was satisfied. By the time this ordeal was over, over 30 minutes had passed. Rather than have to deal with this company again, I will pay out of pocket from CPAP.com or another reputable company in the future. This was like a chapter out of a Kafka novel. It is particularly infuriating, given the fact that Apria basically has a monopoly on the medical supplies market, in spite of abysmally low ratings and a well-known reputation for inflated prices and poor customer service. For example, according to AI: "Customer Service & Communication: Numerous customers report long wait times, unhelpful staff, and poor communication, particularly with the general customer service line." This is an open secret, folks; do not do business with this company, even if your life depends upon it (which, sadly, for many of us, it does).

Useless customer interface - automated phone system makes you wait for it to ramble on about items you've already said you don't want and never gives you the option of ordering a different item.

Absolutely HORRIBLE company

So glad Im not the only one who can't stand working with this company. This is by far one of the worst companies I've had the displeasure of having to deal with in my 42 years of life. They are less than helpful, the invoices are ALL over the place, I don't even know what some of the charges are for, and when I accidentally overpaid because of their terrible billing system, even though it was weeks later and the money has been long taken out of my account, they say my funds are still "pending" on their side so they can't refund me yet.

If anyone has the misfortune of having to work with this company, I feel sorry for you. I am thankful I'm almost done having to deal with them.

Please note this review does not reflect the employees of my local branch, but the corporation. I have been with Apria for approximately three years. I changed insurance for the current year. I physically walked my new insurance card to the local office, where it was copied to be sent to the corporate office in December of LAST year. Four months later they are demanding their equipment back post haste. Very poor way to retain customers. Be very wary if you think you will ever change insurance!

Other account I didn’t know about

Kept sending my a bill but when I signed in online it said my balance was zero. When I called to see what the issue was, they said that the account did in fact not owe anything. Come to find out they were billing me on an account I didn’t know I had and didn’t bother telling me that they’d created a new account for me. So now I have a bill in collection because they were too lazy to tell me that I had 2 accounts for some reason and I’m the one whose credit is going to suffer. They don’t care at all. Just say they’re sorry but have no remorse for what they did. Just matter of fact “you have 2 accounts” but they don’t actually care that they screwed me over. These people are horrible and they shouldn’t be allowed to continue to practice in this manner!

The show "In stock" items that they drop ship.

I ordered an item that showed up as "In Stock", they also say they ship same day if the order is in before 1pm. I ordered on a Sunday expecting them to ship on Monday, didn't ship Monday, contacted on Tuesday, they say the item is drop shipped from the MFG (not in stock then) but will ship today, doesn't appear to have shipped today either.

My experience is different

I get products in a timely manner, and they work well. The problem is their billing. They used to call me for "permission" to charge my card, when the contract already says they can charge the card I have on file with them. The amount my insurance company says I am on the hook for is much more than what I finally get charged by Apria. Three months ago they sent me an email, telling me to expect a charge to my card. They still have not charged my card. I cannot figure out how they stay in business.

Apria Healthcare is going down hill…

Apria Healthcare is going down hill quickly....I was on the phone for over 1.5 hours to ultimately being told that it is now after hours and no one can help or assist me. This was a series of many call transfers to many customer service representatives with heavy accents from many foreign countries. Had to repeat myself many times and each transfer had to validate my identity. In the end, was able to add a comment to my pending order

UNPROFESSIONAL, incompetent

The most u n professional, incompetent idiots. Lied to a neighbor, violated health privacy laws. Told them to never come on my property again. They text patient without consent. Filing complaints with state and federal regulatory agencies.

I would give 0 stars if I could

I would give 0 stars if I could. This company has been shady from day 1.

They shipped equipment to my home without a conversation of my needs.

Their bills just state that I owe $X without any description of what the amount represents.

They call once a week, but when you answer the phone, it is a computer system that you need to interact with to determine why they are calling. I asked multiple times for the phone calls to stop which were disregarded. I only got the calls to stop by changing the phone number on my account to a fake number.

Now that we are in a new insurance year, they took a claim from last year and resubmitted it for processing as a current year claim. And, since my coverage has changed and deductible has reset, they are now pursuing me for additional money above and beyond what I actually owe. This company needs to be shut down.

Billing issues never resolved

Billing issues for over 3 months now. Billing question are answered by "Offshore" individuals. They can only answer what you can already see on your account, which does not resolve any issues. Every response starts with "I'm sorry". They will not transfer you to an American based resolution center. The escalated email address provided never responds. Our account shows paid, zero balance, as well as amount due on a different page at the same time. It can't be both! Auto pay never worked. There is no way to get to a resolution unfortunately.

Apria is an incompetent company

Apria is an incompetent company who hires non English speaking personnel and does not train them to do anything except apologize for not helping and leaving you on hold forever. They billed the wrong insurance and took 5 months to bill the correct and then send me to collections. They are not willing to help at all!

Customer service gets less than one…

Customer service gets less than one point.They don't call back or no matter how long you wait. Stayed on phone for over 45 minutes with not response. But in for them to call me and never did. They want you to use equipment that is old and do not want to update it. It is never serviced and they just tell you to keep using it. Hoses filters need to be replaced and if you cannot get them they just refuse to call you to aid you. Don't deal with them if you want to stay alive.
