Late Pension Payment
I contacted XPS around 2 months before my 60th birthday to enquire about the process for taking my police pension. Four more calls (with very polite staff) assured me everything was 'in hand' and I would receive paperwork 'soon' - but nothing materialised. 3 working days before my pension date I called again and asked to speak with someone more senior. I then received an information pack the following day (which returned the same day) but have been told that the award will be at least a month late. I wouldn't be surprised if this date is also missed. Really poor service for something with a 38-year run-in time.

Easy coontact to update personal contact details
After moving house and getting married, I totally forgot that I also needed to change my address and contact details for my Police pension. Luckily, the move to online paperwork meant nothing was sent to my old address, and a very helpful lady helped me register for my online account and update all my details efficiently. Very stress-free and easy to do. Also, I didn't have to jump through hoops to update my married name; they just needed a copy of my marriage certificate. If only all accounts were so easy to manage.

I was surprised by the fast response to the phone call, and the person I spoke to was attentive and answered all my queries.
We agreed the actions from my call and I await my correspondence by email and post, this ideal based on giving more time to make a final pension option.

Mandy was extremely helpful and patient with a technophobe and an electronic system that insisted on putting my registration attempt into a loop ( apparently for the second time that day). She ultimately got me logged in and made the whole process a lot less stressful than I'd anticipated.

The phone was answered abit quicker rather than waiting forever and then placing you in another que. The lady promised the information has been past onto the right dept and that they will be in touch. I have heard horror stories and unfortunately had experience with this service hopefully getting better...however great service this time
