Undergoing rebrand - don't fall for it

Please be aware that Pinecone Research is about to undergo a rebrand on their website etc. They are probably pushing to detach themselves from these awful reviews and feedback. Please, anyone reading this - don't fall for it. They will lie, they will promise, they will attract with shiny deals and 'fun quizzes' (apparently!). It's all nonsense - they want your time to earn themselves a great deal of money at your expense.

I have been with PC for over a decade

I have been with PC for over a decade, Since their new website is up, I am having repeated problems. I wrote them maybe five months ago about a 300 pt survey for which I never received credit.
I wrote them repeatedly without a response.
I just withdrew 1000 pts without knowing the value and without choosing a gift card.
No confirmation; nothing.
I cannot contact them because the CONTACT US page has been buffering with the form grayed out for months and months. I tried two different browsers.
This sucks, which is disappointing, because they used to be a good place to earn money.

Prämienpunkte gehen nach 1 Jahr verloren

Ich bin seit über 6 Jahren bei Pinecone Research aktiv und beantworte wirklich gerne die Umfragen, auch wenn die Prämierung eher einem Taschengeld gleich kommt. Aber es war okay und ich hatte meinen Spaß.
Jetzt ist es so, dass Prämienpunkte, die älter als 365 Tage sind, einfach gelöscht werden! Das ist unglaublich! Was für ein mieses Geschäftsgebahren!

Ergänzung: die gelöschten Prämienpunkte sind mir inzwischen auf Nachfrage wieder gutgeschrieben worden - das ist m.E. eine seriöse Reaktion.

Pinecone finde ich sehr gut.

Ich bin schon lange bei Pinecone und find es sehr gut.
Ungefahr 2-mal im Monat bekomme ich Umfragen zum ausfüllen.
Ab und zu bin ich nicht dafür geeignet anhand mein Profil aber sonst finde ich eine nette möglichkeit etwas Taschengeld zu verdienen.

Points expire before you can spend them!

I have been a member of Pinecone research for nearly two years and whilst I used to get a couple of surveys a month it has now reduced to less than one a month. As your points expire after 12 months, this means that I have been unable to get to the 1000 point minimum redemption amount for several months now and I am struggling to get a final reward before I give up with this company. What a waste of my time!

A waste of time now.

A waste of time now.
As everyone mentions they have gone down hill recently.
Used to be a good site.
They have an automated bot who answers the queries and none of the answers relate to your issues.
They got me to do a whole survey including a review of the survey at the end and I was not paid.
The automated answer was that I was screened out at the beginning of the survey which was incorrect.

Bad customer service

This used to be a very good survey company we few screen outs, never got many surveys about 2 a month but were well paid. Now get only 1 every few months and last survey required me plus child to watch a 10 minute video, and after watched video and completed survey at the end got screened out. Customer services sent a standard reply and then refused to answer all other emails

Ich find' Pinecone klasse

Ich weiß nicht, wie die schlechten Bewertungen von anderen hier entstanden sind. Ich finde Pinecone Research wirklich gut (und ich kenne einige aus der Branche). Sie arbeiten immer zuverlässig, haben einen guten und schnellen Kundenservice und zahlen m.W. die höchsten Prämien im Meinungsforschungsbereich bzw. bei Internetumfragen.

Hätte eindeutig Besseres erwartet

Also meine Erfahrungen mit Pinecone sind durchweg negativ. Finde im Portal nirgends eine Möglichkeit Punkte in etwas Brauchbares wie Amazon Gutscheine. Bankauszahlungen etc einzulösen. Kontaktaufnahme scheitert ebenfalls. Schickt man eine Mail kommt eine automatische Nachricht von einer Frau "Katrin Schmidt" (ich vermute die gibt es nur virtuell) Mails würden nicht mehr bearbeitet und man solle das verlinkte Kontaktformular verwendem. Versucht man dann darüber eine Nachricht zu schicken, kommt lediglich die lapidare Einblendung " Failure" und das war's. Ganz offensichtlich mag sich diese Firma nicht mit lästigen Anfragen auseinandersetzen. Werde daher keine Zeit mehr hier verschwenden und meinen Account löschen.

Extra questions now for no increase in pay & poor questions

Good points are that I get rewarded very quickly after I have participated and have had no problems cashing in. I have done these surveys for over 7 years and I have always found them frustrating because they are exactly the same but different product so they get boring and some questions don't make sense and they never change. One asks how many of the product you would buy if it was the first time you were buying and you know you needed lots as you would run out. Well, it depends, if I knew the product was good (eg reviews) and I needed lots I would buy lots but if I have never used the product I would buy one, depending on what that product was and how much it was or may not buy at all as I wouldn't risk it or I would select initially that I wouldn't buy the product but then it still asks how many you would buy. Similar questions where it would depend. They ask something like whether you are the first to buy these types of products more than other people (can't recall exact question) but most people wouldn't know that. They ask what you would buy instead if you went to the shop to buy the product, well most people buy products as part of a bigger shop and buy when they notice it on the shelf. If they do want that product and it's not in stock then they would perhaps wait until it is in stock. There's limited options and I prefer to explain rather than select any answer. There used to be just one or two products to answer questions about but now it's sometimes four and now they want you to explain the advantages of the product if you were describing to someone , even when it gives the advantages on the product info. They are already asking you to select up to 3 reasons why you like and dislike the product then ask you to explain and that is also self explanatory as the benefits are what you are clicking on. They should at least pay more for the extra time it all takes. I have come to really dislike them so will end these now. I don't have quite enough for a £5 voucher so I either lose these or do one more to cash in £5 and lose the extra points.

I tried to cash in my points and was expecting £40. There was only £9 left in my account because they had taken £31 off me as expired. I did not know they had changed their rules and that my points would expire. I would not advise anyone to join this research company when they think they can do their research on the cheap.

"Karen Scott" is a rogue trader, dealing illegally

"Karen Scott" does not exist - and if she does, she is in the US, not in the UK, for anyone unsure on that. Pinecone Research may be being run by one person - their email responses make it seem that a 'representative' will get back to you, but all emails are signatures with Karen Scott's name. She is expiring points earned after a year of them not being withdrawn from you account, and she points to a clause in the terms and conditions that changed since I joined, and to which I have never been pointed to since. This is illegal. I was also not able to access my account during Covid due to a problem with their website. This was proven by me, beyond 'any' doubt. My points were stolen from me then too due to inactivity, despite not being able to access the website. This was also illegal. 'She' will respond to emails as if it's the first time she's seen them and ignore previous correspondence once you point her to it. She will use stock replies and phrases in an attempt to shut down discourse. All for the sake of around £50. She will then stop replying to emails and the only way of getting in touch again due to the time limit on her email system is to start the process again via the website where she resets her brain and forgets she has ever spoken to you. We are now preparing a legal letter. I will pay for for fighting this on principle. All because she thinks the rules don't apply to her. Karen, I'm coming after you.

From Bad to Worse

Uncontacable. Unmonitored Inbox.
They know what they are doing. It feels like slavery to be doing any kind of paid feedback work for this company and they come across unscrupulous in their behaviours. Also; No replies to messages sent through their website and email address. Expiring points. Lackluster reward for the time and effort given to some of these high profile companies they are working with.
Latest response from them: "We apologize for any delay in assisting you. Our messaging system experienced a technical issue."

Steer well of these exploiting manipulators

I have been a member of this company for 8 years. It used to be good and I would get about 2 surveys a month to complete on average. I also had done a few product tests too. I saved up my points I had earned over the years (£3 a completed survey) and had the equivalent of about £200 in 2021 which was a good time to cash out. Since that time the surveys became very far and few between. On the rare occasions I had an email to complete one, it frequently took a while to load from the link or it would say I did not qualify even though it did not even load any router questions or it would time out or freeze and if I tried to reload, it would tell me I had already completed it.
My last full survey completed and credited was in March 2025, 9 months since the previous one.
Today I had another email invite and as usual it took an age to load and then told me my profile did not match.
I then noticed that my points balance was only 600. (£6.) I looked at the redemption history to see that they had withdrawn just under 1000 points in March - about £100. They now apparently take the earnings away if not redeemed in 12 months. That is criminal. There has not been any communication from them about this policy change, they have been paid by those who they forward their surveys to us for but stealing from those who do the work.
I have cashed out my measly £6 tonight as they will steal half of that next month anyway.
I am done

Wurde zuletzt nicht vergütet.

War seit ungefähr 2 Jahren Mitglied und habe um die 50 Euro verdient. Pinecone gehört mit 3 Euro pro Umfrage zu den Meinungsportalen, die am höchsten vergüten, das war es für mich aber schon an positiven Punkten. Die Umfragen sind größtenteils uninteressant und die Seite funktioniert sehr hakelig, bei der Auszahlung von Prämien, die es als Gutscheinkarten oder Sachpreise gibt. Für Sachpreise muss man lange sammeln, Amazon-Karten gibt es schon ab 5 Euro. Da ich für meine letzte ausgefüllte Umfrage nicht vergütet wurde, werde ich mein Konto nun kündigen.

I’ve been a member since 2018 and used…

I’ve been a member since 2018 and used to enjoy surveys and the occasional product test. I never redeemed any points and just kept them banked for when I wanted something. In March 2025 they changed their policy and will delete unused points a year after earning them. They haven’t communicated this to their members. I had the equivalent of £220 worth of points deleted. I complained and had a reply reiterating the policy and that on this occasion they would reinstate. I’m still waiting.

Tschüss, Pinecone!

War viele Jahre lang treues Mitglied von Pinecone Research. Dann hat man mir mit einer lapidaren Infomail mitgeteilt, dass ich zukünftig 40 % weniger für Umfragen erhalten soll. Dafür dürfen die ihre Umfragen gerne selbst ausfüllen.

Kommunikation ist generell recht schwierig gestaltet. War früher gut, ist mittlerweile aber nur noch schlecht.
