Worst product ever.

After suffering pregnancy losses I made the decision to invest in the Owlet smart sock and camera when I was pregnant two years ago. I held onto it throughout pregnancy loss and I finally got to use it when my baby was born healthily last summer.
I have tried using both the sock and the camera over the space of a few months but I don’t find it user friendly at all. I have so many issues with the devices.
The sock is charged through the base station which is therefore in my babys nursery so it’s handy to put the sock on… but the base station flashes and makes a loud noise when the sock is disconnected (often!) so this wakes baby up. I tried putting the base station in my room but I obviously forgot to put the sock on baby each night - out of sight out of mind when you’re a busy mum!
The app drains my phone battery and the sock scares the life out of me as it alerts me when it gets disconnected but this happens way too frequently and so easily when baby moves. I don’t even have a particularly wriggly baby, but surely the sock should still be able to take readings, it constantly says connecting to base station/ getting readings and this takes around a minute each time I open the APP. My wifi is good for everything else, so I can only blame the owlet devices.
The camera tells me the room is uncomfortable but I have a couple of thermometers in babys nursery and they both read within temperature guidelines. I also think the camera isn’t the clearest picture and for the sound to come through I have to leave the app open on my phone (again really annoying).
I invested hundreds of pounds on buying this set but I am left feeling like I should have returned it. Obviously it’s too late for me to take it back now, but I don’t like it at all. I ended up buying an extra cheap baby monitor camera for around £30 and it’s a life saver, clearer picture and sensitive to sounds, needless to say, we use it every day.
I’ve tried giving the Owlet devices another chance (a few times) but I’m always left frustrated and feeling like I made a massive financial mistake investing in these. My advice would be don’t bother!

This is the worst app enabled smart device I have used in years. Can't get a brand new dream sock to work on a basic 2.4 wifi connection (in multiple different locations). Can't get the device to register....why are there multiple apps? App regularly stalls with no solution. Multiple devices don't work. How can a company provide such an expensive product for babies and be so unreliable in their tech? I would not trust this device for my baby and have just thrown $300 in the trash. Wildly frustrating.

DONT BUY. I have so much proof of how faulty this item/product is.

I have currently sent over 30 emails to date since December and still no closer. It’s also EXTREMELY dodgy that when my son gets unwell (he’s just started nursery so this is expected) - he’ll get higher reads especially his heart rate.. what happens? The sock will constantly go off stating “difficulty getting reading- ensure a snug fit” when the sock is on absoutley fine. It’s like the sock can’t handle it - I have actual proof of this happening tonight. This is the second time it’s happened. The original issue of it constantly going off fixed itself and has been fine for a few weeks until now- when my son is unwell and we need the sock the most. Oh and if I email them? Like I’ve done tonight….That’ll also trigger the sock/base going off every 10 minutes and then it magically fixing itself.. I have proof of all of this and I’m willing to take this so much further. This company are discusting and so morally wrong. I’ve begged for help and they’ve completely ignored me.

The owlet system as a whole is terrible. My phone half the time will not connect to the camera and tells me the owlet is offline, it is not a wifi issue. It’s scary in the middle of the night when the owlet will not connect and I can’t see my 3 month old baby on the monitor. It was also very difficult to get it set up. Would not recommend this camera system if you are having a baby. Such a headache.

Horrendous! Two machines 15 correct passwords and still won't connect. So you sign up to owlet care and get a link sent to you from dodgy Dave. Guess what the link they send you is doesn't load. Stay well clear! £4.50 Is all this junk is worth.

Exceptionally patchy video connection / despite having a mesh system at home and superfast broadband owlet continuously fails to connect to camera (and even worse will connect to one but the one right next to the other then says it can’t connect). Given the price the connection should be rock solid for camera. Added to this the base has virtually no range - even in a standard sized house it consistently beeps to say it has lost connection meaning that I effectively have to have it in the same room as the sock which defeats the point (and the app won’t let me switch off notifications for this either). When it works it is a good bit of kit - but it is so unreliable that I can’t recommend. Avoid.

We experienced some issues with the audio not coming thru, so we couldn’t hear when our daughter cried at night. This led to us moving our daughter out of her room since we no longer can trust the Owlet. We contacted customer service and attached everything they asked for including a video of this problem happening. And this had led to no response at all for at least half a year.

Just like the other people here, I want to echo buyers beware!!!!! They don’t answer emails. So many issues and no support. I question their ethics with a product that is supposed to save lives and they won’t answer an email.

The worst camera in the world. The app is shit. Dont work every time. Just buy normal camera dont this shit.

Terrible customer service from Owlet– parents, beware!

We reported a fault with our Owlet Smart Sock 3 about a month ago because it wasn’t working properly and kept setting off false alarms. It took over a week to get a satisfactory response and for them to agree to send a replacement. Meanwhile, we were left without the peace of mind this product is supposed to provide for us, with our 7-month-old wearing it at night.

Now, nearly a month later, the replacement still hasn’t arrived, and my follow-up complaint email requesting urgent action has been ignored. This level of customer service is unacceptable. Owlet - please resolve this as a matter of urgency.

If you’re considering Owlet, think twice—this experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing.

I am a huge "smart home" fan. Most of the things in our house are automated or smart in a way or another. I was really excited when we first discovered this product, but discovered almost on the first day that if it's not snake oil, it's very close to it. It has many wifi issues, it does not always connect. The wifi is perfect in our house as I have more than 50 "smart" things connected to the network without any issues. The app is buggy, very buggy!!! They have multiple apps listed on Google Play, out of which only one somehow works.. but barely. One of them (Owlet dream) tells me that my sock is not supported, that I need a newer one.. me having the newest sock available for purchase for them.. Who made this crap? Who takes the decisions at this company? Why have multiple apps, doing the same thing?
I've basically spent 2 days trying to pair the sock and the camera to the network, contacted support multiple times, and they tried to be helpful, but they only give generic advice, which is not good. Also the support "chat" expires in like a minute or two, so while I was trying to do what they said, it closed automatically and then you have to start the whole process again.
Having now used it for around a month, I am not sure I can 100% trust this product, I know it's not a medical device, but if one can't fully trust it, what's even the point of such device? It's better without it in my opinion. It gives quite many false positives. It certainly does not give you peace of mind like they say on the box.

Stupid bloody thing. Never works. Always says disconnected from base station so doesn’t show me my sons readings. Our WiFi work perfectly so I know it’s not the issue. Don’t waste your money buying this, there are far better options out there

If I could give this zero stars I would.
7 weeks of use having had a replacement sock and base at the 3 week mark. Almost daily wifi connectivity issues, (no issues with any other devices in the house), data is not accurate and customer service is poor.
Our first interaction with customer service all they did was send the troubleshooting guide we already had and were doing on an almost daily basis and then we were told it was known issue and an updated to the server had resolved it. Spoiler alert it hadn't. We then contacted amazon who replaced the item. That was great for a few days and then back to the same issues. Only it continued to get worse to the point we are having to troubleshoot more than 4 times on occasion to get the connection back.
Having emailed customer service to get 8 responses to the single email I sent saying we are experiencing high volume of contact it's going to be a while for our response please use our online chat I finally did that again. Once I was able to get past the AI telling me to do the things we are already doing the agent did not resolve any issue just said to follow the troubleshooting guide. I left a review on the play store which prompted an email saying it is being looked into- still nothing from anyone at customer service, and also comments on social media still no response from them to resolve the most basic of functions of this device. What a waste of £300

Like someone else said. Camera keeps losing the internet connection and there is no customer support. All they say is "reset, reset".

DO NOT BUY! Received on Friday spent 6 hours trying to set it up which ultimate doesn’t work you need the camera on a 5ghz channel and the sock on a 2.4ghz and different apps! Trying to return it as it’s not useable and I’m getting you opened the box so you can’t return it! The product is terrible!

The Owlet Dream Sock Smart Baby monitor appealed to us because its app claimed to provide information about a baby's pulse rate and oxygen levels. This was a crucial factor in choosing this device. The setup process was lengthy and complicated, but eventually, the device was functional. The base station's basic function of alerting when it detects an issue was adequate, though it frequently lost contact with the sock despite it being securely in place.

For the very brief time the app worked it provided the reassurance needed. The app lost connection in the middle of the first night and nothing we did could restore it. What is most frustrating is that we had set it up once before and saw it working successfully, but repeating the same steps did not work. After following guidance found online (adjusting router settings, disabling features, opening and closing ports, and reconfiguring the Wi-Fi) the app never functioned again.

We have seen some reviews where people are happy with it, so it could be that it's the 'luck of the draw' with your internet/wifi. Having seen it work once, it suggests that it is flaky, unreliable and not fit for purpose. The last thing you want is a device that is designed to give you peace of mind doing the exact opposite - creating anxiety and uncertainty. This Owlet would have been worth every penny if it had worked. We have replaced it with another tried and tested mattress pad monitor which does the job perfectly.

Before you buy this, have a look at the all the reviews you can find. We were so desperate to have a monitor that provided the metrics this one claims to, we didn't look at this closely enough. You will see there are alot of people who have had a similar experience to ours.

Terrible terrible company. Terrible product. Product (Owlet Dream sock and camera bundle) arrived but did not connect to wifi. After 3 weeks of back and worth emails, owlet support did not provide a single explanation or useful advice on how to resolve the issue. Horrific experience. Glad I am able to return it to Amazon but don’t make our mistake and do not buy this useless product. I wish I read the reviews from other people and saved myself 3 weeks of wasted time. The app, the set up, the tech are overengineered and horrific to use. I have zero trust in the efficiency of this product now.
