This review is for the Owlet website. They will not honor price matching. Ten days ago I ordered Dream Duo….today it is $120 less. Have to send back with a re-shelving fee of $10. Not good business practice.

Extremely difficult to setup

We purchased this product from the UK site, shipped to a UK address, and it simply does not work when registering in Europe. The app prompts you to select a region — we tried Europe, North America, and others — none worked.

It does not connect via Bluetooth and does not connect to Wi-Fi, and the recommended troubleshooting steps caused every Wi-Fi-connected device in our home to disconnect, wasting hours and adding enormous stress, to the point it brought my heavily pregnant wife to tears.

My wife and I are reasonably technologically literate. We bought this product expecting a modern smart device. Instead, it requires advanced networking knowledge just to attempt registration.

After reading numerous other bad reviews citing similar experiences, I am dumbfounded that a company would release a product that cannot even complete the setup process.

Customer service were able to support setup eventually, but appear to be US based so timezone differences cause delays in resolution.

Ultimately we were able to setup on an ipad. For me: this is pretty poor considering the price tag - you would expect product testing to reveal that those without this optionare going to have difficulties setting up.

Once setup it has been working well though.

Not a great experience overall.

The sock base and video monitor are horrendous to set up. Taking hours on multiple days to configure each. The app freezes continuously and is slow to open the camera when I'm trying to check on baby. I appreciate the sock monitor but the overall performance of the app makes me wish I bought the camera somewhere else.

I recently spoke to the owlet team about a replacement sock as ours got broken unexpectedly. The experience I received from the team was outstanding and the very most professional. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. So thankyou for your support.

I am genuinely shocked at how terrible this product is considering the price, after seeing the sock advertised everywhere I had assumed that it would be a super reliable resource for me and my baby to use after she spent her first two months of life in the NICU.

I have been trying to get this thing to work FOR DAYS and i still cant even get it connected. I'm pretty resourceful when it comes to technology but I am just so incredibly frustrated. First of all... there are two apps depending on your region, and although a family member bought this sock for me from a UK site, it only seems to work on the US app... then I have to be connected using a certain wifi speed.... then the bluetooth doesnt work.... then the app crashes and I have to restart... and then there are glitches, and now I read that the people who actually managed to pass the hurdle to get the dang thing connected aren't satisfied because of the intermittent connection and bad readings? I do not trust this product to be reliable in helping me to monitor my baby and I cannot believe that they charge this much for something that isn't even guaranteed to work!

What is also extremely annoying is that it doesn't work outside of your house, or even outside of the room where your baby is sleeping so it would be useless for me to take on holiday or when I need to take my sleeping baby for a walk in her pram.

A total scam, i'm so so sad that its doesn't work because it really would have been so helpful to have this instead of dragging around a clunky pulse oximeter which is what I have to do now.

Owlet dream sock sold to me despite the app to support the product not being available in my region. No resolution offered when I contacted the customer complaints email listed on the website. Do not buy it's a scam.

Great product if all is working, but once you get an issue you’re on your own.

The customer service will pass you from pillar to post and avoid actually resolving your issue. We need a replacement sensor and customer service aren’t interested in helping and keep trying to fob us off with a repair company in the UK who are unresponsive.

Can’t give more than 1* as a product is only as good as the customer service they provide, and theirs is shocking.

This dream sock saved our daughter’s life. The alarm went off with a heartbeat of over 200bpm, She was rushed into A&E on 4th November and diagnosed with viral meningitis with a heartbeat of 230bpm. A must have. We used this with our other child with no issues. They really do work. I would say follow instructions properly on fitting. Maybe put a sock on the top of the owlet sock to keep it more secure. Thank god she had this on!

Extremely poor customer service. I have had issues with the product and they refuse to provide a solution - they continue to send me back to the instructions and ask me to explain the issue again and again…

We are on our second camera in six months and it has been nothing but frustration. They were supposed to even send me a return shipping label to send back the old camera and never did. I reached out to them once about it and they never sent it still, and I’ve been trying to contact them with the second camera cause we were issue's and don’t hear from anyone. We are very frustrated with the camera, we love the sock, but the camera goes out like in the middle of the night and my baby is crying and I have no idea because the camera stopped working, so I ended up having to buy just a regular monitor. Would like to get a refund for the cam but probably won’t.

The worst camera ever. Never connected to Wi Fi, its so terrible exeprience. Never worked. Never connected and its even not so cheap.

Bought a cam + sock on Amazon. Only received the cam. Now I’m forced to pay for returns despite them sending the wrong products owlet sucks they seem to not label their products on Amazon

Personally I can’t recommend the dream duo enough.

I ended up having an emergency c section and had to put to sleep so the first couple of weeks of our baby being home was really challenging. As a first time mother as I was in so much pain and struggled to get to him quickly.

My partner had him on his side of the bed for the first couple of weeks and knowing I could open the app and look at the camera to see he was okay gave me so much reassurance I can’t even put it into words.

Having a newborn is really hard especially when you’re trying to recover and the base unit by the side of the bed completely takes away any unnecessary anxiety and worry. I can actually sleep knowing if there’s any problem the base unit will alarm me.

The sock is soft and comfortable on his foot it doesn’t bother him at all.

The camera picture quality is amazing, even on a night. The sound and two way talk is fantastic. We’ve had no issues with WiFi connection.

Please don’t be swayed by the negative reviews, for us as a family with what we’ve gone through the dream duo has been an actual life saver and I can’t thank Owlet enough.

Customer service is non-existent. They will try their best to be as unhelpful as possible or they will just ignore you depending on the issue you are raising. For a £400 product, you would think they could afford to train their staff on how to respond to an email but apparently not, let alone actually resolve anything. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAMMERS. Cheeky Rascals are exactly what they are, fraudsters.

Everything went wrong really. The company as a whole is insanely untrustworthing. One day you buy their product for a friends baby shower and by the time she opens the box as her baby arrives the company has just randomly decided to turn off all the tech and made all the products redundant.

This company could invent a time machine or a magic pill to solve all the world's issues and still there would be nothing they could do to ever make me trust them again.

Absolute waste of money, awful product, terrible customer service!

We went for a little trip so it disconnected from our WiFi and asked us to re-pair our cam 2. It worked for 2 years (although would always disconnect in the middle of a night and you find your baby crying without hearing it through the device!) and suddenly stopped. Everytime would come to “finishing up” and then come up with either OC21 or OC20. I had been going through all circles of hell with their unhelpful customer service for about 7 days when they just kept repeating themselves once a day and eventually we had to buy another camera as my child just started sleeping in her big girl’s bed and we really needed to have eyes on her. Customer service was awful and unhelpful, they also kept insisting that my WiFi was incompatible although we have used the very same one for 2 years. I checked it anyway and it was all correct. Then after a week worth of battling them and leaving bad reviews they sent me a new camera acknowledging that their software went faulty and the camera I had cannot update. I explained that we needed it in the same colour as it was matching the wall. My daughter doesn’t like change. They ignored that and still sent the average white one. Well, at least it works…for now. Still not putting it back on the wall anymore, useless, expensive and is not worth the hassle. So disappointed. Will never recommend anyone.

DONT BUY!!! I purchased this sock from a local company in Ireland! The sock wouldn't register! It is simply faulty and I have tried everything to get it to work over and over! Followed their instructions! I have been going over and back with the company and Owlet with about 3 weeks as the company is in America I get one email a day from them!!! They will not just refund me for this stupid sock that doesn't work.

As first time parents it was peace of mind to watch how baby slept with heartbeat and oxygen levels and it worked wonderfully until age 4 months. There were a few connectivity issues mainly when we were rocking to sleep it would say awake when he was asleep in our arms. However, at 4 months baby started getting burn marks on their foot where the chip is located; not the laser. We are not using any longer due to this issue. Would like to see what radiation level is at the chip to see what is touching baby's skin.

Put simply the WIFI connection just doesnt work, they clearly have to go back to the drawing board because all the reviews are the same.

We were using it for a few months, it then lost connection with WIFI and cannot find my internet when I try to reconnect, even though all other devices can connect.

Its only supported by 2GHZ (dont know why) so we had to split our 5GHZ and 2GHZ when initially setting up. It eventually connected to that through no help of their customer service. But now its gone back to no connections in area.

Dumping this product and using competitor, just a shame I spent money on it.
