Don’t buy from Maui Jim
I bought a pair of Alika sunglasses, and Maui Jim sent me a scratched pair of sunglasses. Returned it to get an exchange and the second and third pairs were still scratched. I did return and asked for my money back. Still haven’t received the money and when I called Maui Jim, customer service said that they have not evaluated the sunglasses yet. The worst experience ever! Don’t buy from them!
Avoid Buying Maui Jim Sunglasses
I purchased five pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses over the years. I purchase the product because of their built in readers. Sadly, the lens film on 4 of the 5 sunglasses deteriorated within a year of each purchase. In one case, I even paid to have the lenses replaced, and the film on the new lenses also deteriorated. My Oakley, Rayban and designer glasses through Luxotica have never experienced the same product deterioration. I live on the beach and while their built in reader feature and styling attracted me to the product, the quality is severely lacking.
Not fit for purpose
I treated myself to an expensive pair of prescription lenses at over £600 . I do look after these very well and only use them in the car for driving ,However I recently noticed a haze on the inside .
The opticians said this cannot be repaired and the replacement cost is over £550.
Here is the reason ...it was caused by my EYE LASSHES!! FFS . £600 for glasses that can be destroyed by EYE LASHES you have to having a laugh ..- I wont be buying anymore

I recently sent my sunglasses for repair due to a few scratches and some sun damage on the frame, and I was amazed by how professionally everything was handled. Their customer service was fast, friendly, and extremely helpful at every step.
When I received my sunglasses back, they looked almost brand new — perfectly restored and cleaned. It was honestly beyond my expectations.

Not the company that they used to be . Avoid
Tried to buy a pair of Mavericks on line and use my Veterans discount . I completed the form for the purchase over and over again and kept receiving an error message ‘ SOMETHING WENT WRONG “ I called the customer support number . They couldn’t help because I didn’t have an order number . DAH Later my bank issued a fraud alert . My card had been charged by them twice . They were bought out by Kering eyeware .

I had an issue where my return/repair package was lost in transit, which obviously wasn't ideal. However, Maui Jim's customer service team stepped up immediately and handled the situation professionally. They didn't make excuses or drag things out—they simply made it right.
I'm now getting a replacement pair of sunglasses, and the entire resolution process was handled quickly and without hassle. This is exactly how a company should treat their customers when problems arise.
The difference between a good company and a great one isn't whether issues happen—it's how they respond when they do. Maui Jim earned my loyalty with how they handled this situation.
I'm actively recommending them to all my friends and family. If you're looking for quality sunglasses AND a company that stands behind their products with real customer service, Maui Jim is the way to go.

I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent experience with Maui Jim. Unfortunately, I was informed that the brand does not accommodate goodwill repairs, which was super disappointing.
I purchased my glasses around three years ago and used them only for sports activities. While they were certainly well-used, I didn’t expect the lens film to start warping—something I’ve never encountered with other sunglasses, even after extensive and many years of use. Since the issue occurred outside the warranty period, I was told there was nothing that could be done.
Given this experience, I’ve decided not to purchase Maui Jim products again and will be considering alternatives like Oakley going forward.

I paid 289 dollars for a pair of Honi sunglasses and the nose piece fell off after 6 months. Maui Jim customer service sent me replacements and told me to get superglue and glue them on myself. So for this price point I would have expected at least the superglue to be enclosed with the replacement nose pads

30 months ago I paid 400 euros for a pair of sunglasses with a Titanium frame. I have not used them much, and last week I went to put them on and the frame was broken. There was no impact or abuse whatsoever. I was told by the seller of the glasses that I would be charged 150 euros for replacement frame, which does not include the fitting. What a joke! Frankly, I would never again but this brand, which is overpriced and poor quality.
No warrenty at Maui Jim!!
After 20 months a lens drop out of the Maui Jim sunglasses (380 euro) and broke on the ground. As MJ has 2yrs warranty I've send them for repair. However they refuse to give warranty.
Terrible warranty
I thought i was upgrading from Costa's poor warranty to a much superior one. Don't believe for 1 second they have a better warranty, they don't!!!My lens had scratching on them after just 1 month of owning them. They are charging me $95 to replace a lense. I have always had great service from the Maui Jim team. One of the arms broke off my MJ Sports, not only did they repair (12 pound processing fee) but polished the lens and generally made them literally as good as new. I am beyond impressed. Turned around in less than 7 days.

Free of charge, MJ sent me new nose pads. Never ever had any problems with loose screws or whatsoever. Not with MJ or any other brand. The quality of their lenses are unmatched. If I would be uncarefull and let them drop, that would be accountable to no other but me.
I have a local Kine model
I have a local Kine model. I sent for repair within the two year frame warranty because the nose pad rubber was peeling, same problem for the rubber at the end point of the frame close to the ears. Also, one of the glasses broke (maybe because of the pressure from my laptop in the bag?). The warranty is void for glass damage. For the rubber the replacement was free, but what bothers me is that Maui jim supervisor in Canada said this is due to the sun light, which is ridiculous, as the product is supposes to protect me from the sun so of course it is exposed to the sun. Second processing fees and shipping is 15 dollars+taxes for the return and I paid around 20 dollars for the sending with Canada post. The glass replacement costed 105 dollars +tax. I find this too expensive for a frame that doesn't last so long. It is my last purchase from Maui Jim, too disapointed.

I bought 2 pairs of Maui’s one was around $400. A few months later it slipped off my face and the lens broke on one, the second one just has a small scratch. When I sent it to the company to fix they told me that these styles were discontinued and that they couldn’t fix them… ok, but the worst part is that they kept the glasses and didn’t return them. I was out over $500 with nothing.

Habe mir online eine randlose Sonnenbrille gekauft. Der rechte Bügel und das Glas waren nicht fest genug verschraubt und gleichzeitig war das Glas nicht richtig mit dem Mittelsteg verschraubt. Ich habe reklamiert und habe um Nachbesserung gebeten. Was haben die gemacht - ohne jegliche Erläuterung Stornorechnung geschickt und Geld zurück überwiesen. 4 Mauijim habe ich schon, aber ein weitere kommt jetzt nicht mehr dazu.
Too expensive, very poor quality
I bought a pair of Lighthouse sunglasses for $200 in June 2025, and the following month, the right temple broke on its own when I opened them. I sent them in for repair, but they took over 15 days to reply, telling me they didn't have the part and that I would have to wait an inordinate amount of time. I don't recommend anyone buy those sunglasses; they're super expensive and of very poor quality.
Deeply Disappointed
I had a beautiful pair of tortoise shell sunglasses. I got up shortly after buying and noticed that the left eye lens had what I would call two hairline fractures. I contacted this repair service, paid $104 and sent in the glasses. Three days after receiving the “fixed” eyewear, I went to wear them and they two cracks similar to what I’d asked to be repaired. They were now worthless and instead of going through the rig amoral of sending them back a second time, I threw them in the trash—right where my opinion of Maui Jim is at this point.
