I ordered a pair of Maui Jim glasses on backorder. After many weeks I was advised they were "in" and I needed to pay...they took my credit card details, we spoke about delivery dates. The glasses did not arrive. I rang to be told they had allocated the glasses to someone else. I again went on backorder. No follow up communication. I called...again and they suggested alternatives. I did not ask them to cancel my backorder. I have just called again to be told my order has been cancelled when they spoke about alternatives. AAAAGGGGHHHH. Maui Jim I give up on you.

I decided to get a new Maui Jim style and lens for a hiking trip to Patagonia and it turned out way better than expected.

Over the last 30+ years I’ve gone from grey to rose to bronze lenses and from regular to bifocals (an aging thing). A couple months ago I learned I needed a prescription lens and stuck with Maui Jim because the product and service have proven to be worth the cost.

My strategy was to use the Rx sunglasses for golf and a planned hiking trip to Patagonia. The new HT tint was recommended. It would keep things sharp in cloudy or rainy weather as well as in sun.

When they arrived I was happy with the new sharpness of my vision, but going to Patagonia took that feeling to a new level. Transformed the experience.

We hiked for 7-12 hours daily in all kinds of weather. The glasses handled rain, snow, bright sun, super heavy wind and my sweat from all the steep ups and downs flawlessly. They were comfortable, anchored to my head, protected my eyes from the elements, gave me awesome clarity and depth perception, and thinking back, I didn’t consciously know that I had them on.

Great lens, sturdy frame, great prescription technology. Unexpectedly a highlight of the awesome trip! Thanks!

Old style 'putting the customer first' blended with cutting edge tech that makes the products definitively best . A winning combination and very rare in todays world . I will only buy from Maui Jim , what a pleasure dealing with them

Only last 2-3 years the optician say. I payed a lot for my prescription sunglasses (other brands lasts longer) Both the frame and glass is damaged even tho I been careful. So warn everybody to spend too much on this brand.

350 € une paire de lunettes de soleil on à évidemment certaines attentes et exigences. Le verre est de qualité mais le reste ne suit pas du tout. La monture est de qualité mediocr. Je n’achèterai plus cette marque.
Les patins se sont enlevés. Je les ai fait remettre chez l’opticien mais ils n’ont pas tenu. Puis le verre est tout simplement sorti de la monture et tombé au sol…alors que j’en prends grand soin et qu’elles sont toujours rangées dans leur étui

Very dissatisfied with their warranty and customer service. They use an outside source for repairs and the person I spoke to used derogatory terms in reference to his employees and the mistakes made. While also not assisting me with my request or understandings. I would not pay for what I did for my glasses knowing all this. Plus the scratch really easily for $400 glasses

Top Kundensevice, gute und schnelle Kommunikation sowie Lösungsorientiert. Dass die Reparatur etwas kostet ist klar und vor allem immer noch günstiger als eine neue Brille.

While the lens do block sun and glare, getting a $299 pair of sunglasses fixed is impossible. After only 5 years, the tips of both temple pieces have disintegrated. They no longer have the small ear pieces, so they can’t be repaired. (Why would they not keep these parts in stock? I’m sure we aren’t the only ones.) We were offered a 50% off coupons, but we do not want to pay $150 for a pair of sunglasses that will only last 5 years.

Fantastic service. My sunglasses got broke in transit while going on holiday . Contacted the repair centre on my return to see if they could be fixed .
1 form later and posted via registered post my sunglasses were back within a week . All this for a small fixed service charge .
Cannot fault the service from from Maui Jim .
Would never buy any other make .

Meine 7. Sonnenbrille von Maui Jim war eine schwarz matte Peahi. Nach 4 Jahren ist diese komplett klebrig geworden. Nach der Überprüfung in Braunschweig wollten die mir allen ernstes für 134€ einen neuen Rahmen verkaufen. Nie wieder.
Die Brille ist auf dem Postweg zurück zu mir.
Unfassbar. Das Modell kostet je nach Anbieter neu 180€ inkl Etui und Tuch…

The paint on the frame is pealing off. I phoned Maui Jim in SA, their response, the sunglasses is been discontinued.
How is it possible that sunglasses this expensive is so poorly made

I do not think there is another American company like MJ, offering top quality, numerous styles and top customer service. Not only do they constantly create amazing new styles but they stand behind their product to a degree I have never seen before. Everyone ( and I mean EVERYONE) looking for sunglasses will find a pair which matches her/his needs and style. I have two pairs and I plan on buying another one…

They sell plain sunglasses worth $200 but don't bother to maintain the quality even worth $10. Hinges have gone loose within 1st year of purchase, so please stay away from this brand.

I had a pair of sunglasses from 10 years ago, it's badly scratched. I recently discovered Maui have an after sales service to repair lens, after submitting this request, I was assigned Tony whom has been super responsive to helping me throughout the entire process. He has even gone above and beyond to ensure my repair is going to be returned as if they are a brand new pair.

Super impressed with the entire process, will be buying more MJ's in the future.

Ich habe vor einigen Jahren eine Sonnenbrille von Maui Jim gekauft. Seit einiger Zeit macht sich ein Materialfehler bemerkbar und zwar ist die gesamte Gummiummantelung klebrig. ich habe die Brille an Maui Jim Germany geschickt. Darauf hin sollte ich einen Reparaturauftrag erteilen und dazu eine Kontoverbindung angeben, obwohl es da nichts zu reparieren gab. So hat mir Maui Jim Germany aus Braunschweig die Brille ohne Kommentar zu dem Materialfehler zurück geschickt. Also null Kundenservice, statt dessen der Versuch mich als Kunden, der schon viel Geld für die Sonnenbrille bezahlt hat, nochmal ordentlich abziehen. Danke für gar nichts, Maui Jim.

NEVER BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN. I bought a pair of Maui Jim eyeglasses and barely got to use them. I only used them for 1 year. They break. I try to bring them back to my eye doctor to get them fixed. They tell me that Maui Jim DISCONTINUED the glasses and have NO PARTS to repair. I AM PISSED. I paid $400 for these glasses. I also had my prescription updated to them. Now I have to wear glasses that are over 5 years old with my old prescription and my eyesight is now going bad. NOW I HATE MAUI JIM AND I WILL ALWAYS LEAVE BAD REVIEWS EXPLAINING WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. THIS IS AWFUL. NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I AM GOING BACK TO RAYBAN GLASSES AS THEY LAST ME FOR YEARS. MAUI JIM SUCKS AND I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS SOON.

Love Maui Jims glasses. My husband had cracked his lens on one of his limited edition glasses, I bought him a new pair it fell off his head at work and cracked the frame and lens. I found out the Maui Jims repairs both lenses and frames and the price to fix is great. Sent both in 2 days later got both back. Just like brand new. Love love maui Jims..
