Quick turnaround as we ordered in June and was installed in September Friendly installation team (Graeme and Joe) and they worked very hard despite the torrential rain The cabin is perfect and build quality excellent. Its warm and cosy without the heating on. The windows are great as they are the tilt and turn ones. Only thing that we underestimated was the time taken painting it.Great experience all round. Thank you

From arriving at the Showroom / space in Royston, both Ian and Henry were brilliant on offering advice, sizings, opportunities and the full turn key service Johnsons can offer, all without being 'pushy' through the whole journey. Once committed and having a say on the install date the guys who installed it were brilliant and so refreshing to have around the garden for the 1 day build and install.

Overall, I would highly recommend Jonhsons to deliver a garden building, which we are using as office space, to anyone looking for such a build.

We are absolutely delighted with our log cabin! The process began ideally, with a relaxed browse around Johnsons’ Gosport site. We appreciated the friendly and expert advice offered by Zak Langford and Dan, but there was no sales pitch. A second visit to confirm our purchase and pay the deposit was equally good, with all questions expertly answered. Zak provided an excellent site visit too. The cabin is beautiful and a perfect size, and we were given the correct advice regarding the best package for our needs. The two builders were lovely,as was the electrician, and all did a marvellous job. Danielle in Head Office kept us informed accurately regarding all appointments and the email about aftercare was comprehensive. Thanks again to all concerned, and especially Zak for excellent project management.

We had a few logistical problems when the building was being installed but these were all addressed in a timely manner. We now look forward to using our cabin.

We had a garden room installed by Johnson’s. Despite torrential rain on two days of the installation, Joe and Graeme worked so hard and had everything completed in 2.5 days, ahead of the 4 day schedule. They were both very friendly, professional and courteous- and the quality of their workmanship and work ethic was brilliant. They’re a credit to the company. We love our new garden room thank you. A couple of minor blips on delivery (the first delivery didn’t have any postcrete, doors or paint). But all was sorted quickly with 2 extra deliveries. Amy in after sales was really helpful in updating me on the paint delivery. Overall a great experience and 100% recommend.

I recently purchased a garden room from Johnsons. The guys who built it were Joe and Graham. They were superb. They quietly and efficiently built the room in 4 days. They were very tidy and the finishing was extremely neat. More than anything, Joe and Graham were courteous, pleasant and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending them very highly.

We have purchased a wonderful garden room and more recently composite decking from Johnsons Garden Buildings.

Super pleased with the quality, installation and overall service from the Company. Not the easiest of projects for them to deliver, but all done to a high standard by friendly office and on site teams.

Happy to recommend and found the staff knowledgeable and easy to discuss our requirements with. A big shout out to Zak (at the Gosport) for a great job. Allow time for delivery and fitting as demand can be high, but the team will explain all this.

Great experience with Zak and Dan at the Gosport branch. Zak came and surveyed straight away and couldn't have been more helpful with advice. Order went through really quickly, and whilst we have made a couple of modifications to our order, Zak has been great throughout. Awaiting delivery and build shortly and communication with Johnsons and their electricians has been excellent.

We knew we wanted a Garden Room but we're unsure of which one or finish, Zak talked us through various options ensuring we ended up with the perfect one for our needs. Delivered on time and very well constructed. The two assemblers were very good and we were kept informed of delivery progress.

We bought a Johnson’s garden shed close to 10 years ago. The installation and the shed itself were extremely good. No complaints. Recently We noticed that some planks of wood at the bottom rear and on both sides had rot. Johnsons told me that they had a repair service and that for £200 one of their engineers or ‘technicians’ would come and ‘survey’ the building. I paid the £200. The guy came and spent 15 minutes just looking briefly at the area that my Handyman had already exposed. He did not look inside the shed to check if there was any leakage nor did he make any comment or suggestions for the rotted wood that was evident in both sides of the shed. Nor did he check any other parts of the shed which I thought would be mandatory if you’re to carry out a repair. Surely it’s necessary to identify if there are any other areas that need repairing at the same time? He then left and I received a quote a week later which asks for 100% pre payment. I’ve asked the company to explain how on earth this can be called a survey. The guy spent so little time with me did not look inside the shed or take any look at the roof to see where the water ingress might have occurred. He literally just came had a look at what my Handyman had excavated and then left. He was cheerful though! I have now written two emails to Johnsons asking for an explanation and a refund. So my advice is be really wary if you’re looking to get a repair done by the company. Insist that the full survey of the building is carried out before parting with your money.

Update

I’m updating this following the response from Johnsons below.

For the record I’d spoken and written to Johnsons previously about this matter and had received no reply. The moment it appeared on Trustpilot I received a response within a couple of hours. The tone of the reply implies that I’m being unreasonable and expecting Johnsons to maintain my shed after I purchased it almost a decade ago but, in spite of this, they are still willing to talk to me and have someone from Customer Services contact me.

At no time, did I say that I wished Johnson’s to maintain my building after 10 years or expect there to be any responsibility on its part to carry this out. I approached Johnsons on the basis that it might carry out a repair of that building and that this was a chargeable service.

Johnsons said that it can supply that service and that there would be a £200 charge for a survey. There was no mention that this charge would be deducted from a final quote. Indeed, the quote I received from them did not include any mention of a reduction in charge.

The technician/engineer from Johnsons spent no more than 15 minutes at my property. He did not carry out a comprehensive survey. The technician did not look inside of the shed to see if there had been any water ingress. I thought this was odd and asked him if he wanted to have a look. He poked his head in through the door as he was leaving.

He did not inspect the roof nor did he inspect the sides where rotten wood was in evidence nor recommend that they be fixed.

The quote I subsequently received from Johnsons was purely for a repair on the back of the shed which I had identified. I had previously taken photographs which I forwarded to Johnsons. The engineer said he had not been sent these through.

If I had accepted the quote and proceeded I would now have a situation where I would still have rotten wood in both sides of the shed. 

I’m struggling to understand why Johnsons would want to argue about this. I’m either making this up or they’re being fed misinformation.

I would ask Johnsons to please clarify what they would expect one of their engineers to do that constitutes a survey of one of their buildings?

Is it to carry out a comprehensive overview of the building or is it really just to look at some areas that the customer has already identified for them? 

£200 remains a lot of money just to obtain a quote.

24 October. A final update. The customer service person did call me and was very pleasant but she had obviously been given a script to read and under no circumstances were they going to accept that what they had carried out was not a detailed survey nor was I offered a refund of the £199 that I paid for the 15 minute visit. In the meantime, I found someone else to repair my shed who did not ask for £200 to give me a quote or for full payment in advance. He also was able to identify the other parts of my shed needed repair as well as the bits that Johnsons briefly looked at. I also did not have to face a two month wait time and the work was carried out promptly and professionally on the dates agreed. So, my advice to anyone is shop around, there are alternatives

We have just ordered our garden room and are very excited about it. Our experience so far has been very smooth. Michelle and Natalie have been incredibly helpful and super lovely people to do business with.

I am thrilled with our new garden building. Right from the start John could not do enough for us and explained everything clearly and came over to measure and ensure everything would fit.Graeme and Joe came to build it and worked extremely hard within 2 and a half days it was built to an excellent standard and they were very experienced and lovely to have around .

I recently had the pleasure of working with Zac Landford from Johnson Garden Buildings. From the beginning, Zac displayed a level of professionalism and supported me through the project.

Zac was friendly and approachable. He made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free.

Wonderful garden rooms, customisable re sizes, extra windows etc, able to be seen at a local garden centre. The company uses their own fitters, so high quality workmanship and uniformity of build.
The fitters were lovely guys who worked hard and were happy to have viewers to watch the process and progress (myself, grandson and dog were the viewers).
Excellent quality of work and informative handover.

The guys were very efficient, tidy and quick.

From ordering with Martin at Johnsons Maidstone, and correspondence with Danielle. The whole process was easy and straightforward. Delivery was prompt on the first day of build, and the driver was skilful in placement over the fence. We were lucky enough to have Karl & Ryan build our garden room, they did a grwat job on the build, were informative, efficient and left everything tidy each day. They were also very patient with our puppy.

Summer house Is now finished inside is better than my first expectation beautiful place for family visitors to stay so happy, Zach and Dan at the Gosport branch were fantastic so friendly and welcoming and made to feel very relaxed at asking questions that I had to ask thank you guys.
