2023
Last year, I and some of our friends attended Winter Wonderland. The food and everything else was expensive, but we thought, why not enjoy it once a year? Overall, it was a good experience and we looked forward to Winter Wonderland 2023.
This year, me and my partner decided to get the tickets fives days before the planned day, and unfortunately, before the event, my partner got flu, so we could no longer go on that day because of the high temperature and migraines he had. We reached out to customer service to see if it would be possible to make the exception and just move the date without a 72-hour notice, but unfortunately, they weren't going to do that and told us to give away the tickets to somebody who could come. Since our relatives and friends don't live in the UK anymore, obviously it's not an option, so we wasted money—no change since the situation.
Would I personally come back next year? Not anymore.
Would I recommend it? I have recommended it to a lot of people before this situation, but unfortunately I won't be doing that anymore. I am very disappointed with this whole thing.
Shambles of a website
Shambles of a website. Unable to upload documents for an accessibility ticket. No one responds to emails, yet have the audacity to charge a £15 booking fee. Total con.
Rude staff
We were 5 minutes late to our ride (ice slide) and they, rudely, did not let us in and refused to refund our tickets. Also, in general, the staff are quite rude.
Pre booked the day
Pre booked the day. Got to reading station and waited as trains were delayed due to damage the day before but old would be fixed yesterday. all trains then cancelled for foreseeable future. Winter wonderland refuse to give refund even though we had no other way of getting there due to no fault of our own. Absolutely heartbroken. What a terrible service.
Horrendous !!
Horrendous !!
Bad experience for first time visited Winter Wonderland. Queuing for rides and prices are ridiculous. Staff most were miserable, Highly NOT recommended for young families. We’ve such a worst day today visited this!
Family friendly... Might want to re-brand
For a brand that prides themselves on being family friendly and aimed at families..... It's seems more like an over priced pi#s up at a fun fair for adults wanting to day drink.
Walked for miles as several gates magically closed as it got busy... And so took an hour to get to a gate and another to que. I asked several staff members where I could feed my 7 week old and was directed to public dirty rest rooms, luckily on of your female staff members directed me to the quiet zone. My 4 year old was screamed at by a teen in front of a security member next to this teen ... Who thought it was okay to laugh along with him, the teen in his own words wanted to scare him.
Circus and ice kingdom were good but not worth the hassle of the rest of the day or the price.
Save your money and go somewhere else!
Impossible to get in.
A friend and I went on Wednesday evening just before 7, but the queues were appalling so we left. At least several hundred people at each gate, with no structure or order, just people pushing forward like some kind of mosh pit. You have to wonder what it was like inside... Wish I could get my money back. Total scam.
Absolutely awful… do not waste your…
Absolutely awful… do not waste your money
It’s a huge busy funfair !!and that’s it With extremely overpriced disgusting food !!!! Everywhere is dirty and everyone who works there is miserable !!!
Munich Looping Incident
I'll just copy and paste the complaint I've sent to them. I could have been seriously injured.
I am writing about an incident on the Munich Looping. I was boarding the ride with my cousin who had already taken his seat. As I was getting in, I got back out on to the 'entry side' of the ride to put my drink and bag on the side.
One of the ride attendants gestured to me to get back on the ride and that I was putting my things down on the wrong side. The gate had closed at this point but the attendant kept gesturing for me to get on. He was signalling to the controller not to start the ride at the same time. Because he told me to, I climbed over the barrier, passed the attendant my bag and drink and started getting on to the ride. However the ride started to move when I was still stood up and getting in.
This could have been a lot worse. I managed to get out of the ride unharmed. However I could have easily fallen in-between the carriages, or to the side and hurt myself. I was put at risk because of poor communication between the staff. I sheepishly climbed back over the barrier to safety afterwards. People queueing were looking at the staff in disbelief as they were blaming one another.
I did not receive an apology or even an acknowledgement of what had happened. My cousin told me his seat lock had not been checked properly either.
I was expecting it to be better than it…
I was expecting it to be better than it was, the queues were horrendous, everything was extremely overpriced, not a single Christmas song played and it felt like any other fair I’ve been too. I would never go back and wouldn’t recommend anyone waste there money. No Christmas decorations up around the venue at all and we waited 3hours to see Santa. Rides were ok but expensive.
Good job we won tickets for winter…
Good job we won tickets for winter wonderland as I would of wanted a refund diabolical
Overpriced and far too busy
Overpriced and far too busy we went as a family of 5, 3 children under 10. The circus was good but very short compared to other circuses we have been to. I found security pleasant and helpful. But you could just not move it was just ridiculous couldn't get a seat to have a drink and food with the kids. We stayed in there for 1.5 hours including the circus as queues for any rides where huge. It cost me £111 for the circus and entry for us, and another £100 on candy floss and trying to win a teddy. In comparison if we went to another similar type fair this would have cost £40 for the circus and £30 for the candy floss and games. We definitely wouldn't say it was worth it. Won't be coming back don't understand why this place is so popular? Also you have a time slot to enter but can stay as long as you like how do they manage to keep track of how many people are in there? To me it was dangerously busy if something would have happened there was no way everyone could get out safely without getting trampled especially young children.
ABSOLUTE RIP OFF
It is the most overpriced park I have ever visited would be cheaper to go to euro Disney for the day, Travelled from Ireland absolutely terrible won't be back wouldn't advise anyone to bother with this place a pure money grab
Not young family friendly
We bought tickets to attend with out 4 month old baby. Unfortunately our baby got sick before the visit date. We contacted the organisation for changing our visit date to the week after aware we outside the allowed "change window" but thinking "surely they will understand and won't mind helping out given the circumstances."
They replied with a basic copy past "as per terms and conditions" answer saying "no".
Ots shameful that a organisation like this, in 2023 London, have zero co sideration and flexibility towards their family clients.
I wasn't asking for a refund as I really wanted to go. I was asking for a date change by 1 week.
Putting "terms and conditions" before clients, families and 4 old months sick babies is utterly shameless for such an event!
Shame on you, hope you enjoy your extra money earned of the back of a hard working family with a sick 4 month old baby that couldn't attend!!!
Terrible experience.
Used to be good but they have decided to get very aggressive with the T&C and now they make sure they make even more money.
They have started to date ride tickets then add a booking fee on top which would make them more expensive. The queues for attractions get really big sometimes and you mah not be able to use your bought tickets which means you loose your money.
The customer service manager, Joshua, claims that they only date the tickets for a better flow but that did not seem the case to me when, after waiting 40' in a queue to be told that my ride tickets are expired, I had to cough up another £20 for that ride. How did that help with the flow?
Also some of the rides, like XXL and Snow Jet, would have the ride lenght reduced by at least 40-50 seconds. That is also good for business. So if you plan to enjoy it do not buy ride tickets in advance and avoid the peak times at all costs.
Booked for wrong day
Booked for wrong day - error at data entry on website - despite informing, no refunds at all and appalling customer service. Is this all just 1 big scam ?
Disgusting and rude customer service
Brought tickets 2 months prior to visit. Due to illness, unable to attend. Contacted Winter Wonderland to ask if they would amend the date we attended. Received rude response advising tickets none refundable or exchangeable. Spent nearly £100 on tickets and clearly was unable to foresee illness - received nothing but rude emails repeating 'we do not offer exchanges or refunds on tickets after purchase.' What disgusting customer service, and to take money and not offer the option of changing dates due to circumstances outside of our control. Companies like this should not be able to trade!
Winter crapfest
Ques are too long , what's the point of prebooking if u still have to wait ages with no idea how long the que will be . No refunds . If we had stayed in the que for one ride we would have missed the last circus . And the toilets are a total mess .
Was lovely when we went we but we were…
Travelled from Scotland. The park itself Was lovely and stalls and rides are great. But very disappointed with santa and the team. They do not take time out for children who are disabled in wheelchairs. This made us really sad and obviously my daughter to. The price of the rides and food are extremely expensive.
Hyde Park Ice Skating - Health and Safety Issues
Agree with the other reviews - everything was overpriced and overly busy. I don't generally leave negative reviews, but felt I have to here due to health and safety concerns.
Worst experience was with the ice skating. 15 minute queue to get in, then a free for all crowd to get ice skates once inside, no queue control. On top of the £10+ for the ice skating ticket, £2 for a locker. Eventually got the ice skates and out onto the rink - ice was very melted around the edges, making it really slippery. One of my ice skates was fine, but the other was so blunt that it skidded dangerously sideways every time I attempted to skate away from the wall (I have experience with ice skating and normally can skate fine). Time on the ice was not enjoyable due to the problematic ice skate. Once off the ice, there was another 'free for all' crowd to collect our shoes. Raised the very blunt ice skate as a potential hazard to a member of staff - was told that most of the skates are blunt anyway, no indication of any further action being taken. Definite health and safety concerns, recommend avoiding the skating!
Big wheel, dodgems and VR ride were good, although also overpriced. However, overall would not recommend and after the ice skating experience, will not come back.
