Housing 21 is a leading, not for profit provider of Extra Care and Retirement Living for older people of modest means. We operate in 215 local authority areas, managing over 24,000 properties and providing over 49,000 hours of social care each week.
Our roots lie with the Royal British Legion (RBL), which in 1921 began to house disabled ex-servicemen and widows and, later, older ex-servicemen and women. In 1964, we became a recognised housing association before separating from the Royal British Legion in 1993 to become Housing 21.

Communication during the purchase was excellent and you were patient waiting for the house sale to go through. The only reason for the 4 stars was no initial interview took place after moving in so information was lacking.

We moved to Lavender Meadows shortly after it opened its extra care facility in November, 2021. Of course there has been a few problems, life is full of them but when I read about the lack of care in some schemes then I thank God for the care staff we have here.
My husband and I are both in wheelchairs but are able to help each other in our day to day living so have no need for the care component yet, but I know the staff here are second to none. Each care staff have beautiful souls and genuinely care for the residents. They thoroughly deserve the 5* rating I have given them.
I hear some of the abuse some residents throw to the staff and I just shake my head in disbelief. These residents need to realise they are not the only people here who need care and I am sure they would be a lot happier if they showed patience. I love the care staff here and would never dream of being so nasty to people who are doing their utmost to do their job and do it well.
I will fly the flag for the girls and guys here. You are amazing.

Two old washing machines and two old tumble dryers to service 34 flats. One of the machines is out of action, this time a dryer, a fairly common occurrence.
Why does it usually take a week or more to get the machines fixed after the manager has made the request? It's unacceptable.

My mum enjoyed her time at Hollis Court, the place is welcoming, friendly and very well kept. The Manager, Jennifer is so helpful going above and beyond for the residents.

My husband and i paid a visit to housing 21 . Dissapointed to hear the cafe is closed. We have made visits over the last few years and found it a lovley little spot and particularly found it very good value for money .( pot of tea and jug of hot water £3)
Was abruptly informed the cafe may be opening in a few weeks .
On previous visits have found it to be lively and chatty this time it was like the Marie celeste! Even tho the chip van was there
Felt quite unwelcome.

The only negative was that some of the rules in the lounge were unnecessarily restricting.
Mum lived there from around August 2014 ( I think ) until she passed away August 2025

Since takeover from retirement accomodation the dog excrement directly outside has increased. Rubbish has been dumped at the side on the grass and not removed ...blowing all over the place. Can whoever has dumped it clear it or the company.

Housing 21 presents itself as a non-profit provider of affordable housing for people over 55, yet it allows its employment practices to contradict these values. The organization recruits for roles ranging from care workers to regional managers, but its online application process allows candidates to upload only a CV, with no option to submit a cover letter or supporting statement. When contacted, Housing 21 confirmed it does not accept such documents.
I recently applied for a local housing manager position, confident that I have the relevant skills and experience. I have previously reached the interview stage for this role on three occasions, demonstrating that Housing 21 has already recognized my suitability. However, just two days after submitting my application, I received a curt no-reply rejection email. More concerningly, this rejection was issued four days before the application closing date.
This strongly suggests that Housing 21 operates an unfair and potentially discriminatory recruitment process, characterized by an unorthodox and unlawful selection method that appears to allow unconscious bias and age to influence decision-making.

Housing 21 sold our development to Churchill Estates Management two years ago and what a hellish ride it has been.
Thanks for all the promises. We have no idea where our sinking fund is. Repeated requests are just ignored. Costs are sky rocketing.

This review does relate to Housing 21 and the sale of 32 developments to Churchill Estates Management. Promises made by H21 to residents have not been upheld by Churchill causing significant stress and cost increases that cannot be justified.
Everything they can add a charge to they do. Heck, they’ll be charging us to speak to the manager next.

I have worked in housing for many years, I joined Housing 21 just over a year now and I can honestly say that the standard of homes are second to non. They do what they say there going to do not with a diy off the shelf piece of equipment but something thats been carefully chosen to deliver. The staff are passionate about achieving gold standards not just a simple coffee morning for theresidents (albeit they are great) but a complete court makeover, new kitchens, new bathrooms etc. I have never experienced this with any other association so congratulations and keep it up.

8 years in this prison!!! Rat and Silverfish infestations, Dirty people who wont stay in their apartments when ill, Wont wash, We have been stuck in our cell(apartment) for 6 weeks now due to illness. We have seen no one. Not one staff nor residents have bothered to see if we are ok. We are trapped. Dirty corridors full of dog poo, human waste, Cobwebs,No one has seen my husband since Christmas. I could be living with a corpse. No one is bothered. Extra Care!!! I dont think so. We are forced to live in darkness and super heat, with no access to outside. Please if you value your sanity DONT MOVE into one of Housing 21 Extra care. It is a prison. We live in a CELL. In our opinion.

I moved into Housing 21 supported accommodation with my mother in August of 2025. We have had no issues with the Housing 21 repairs department, they normally turn up same day or the following day after making a repair request. The bungalow had a kitchen refit in October and we're happy with the result. We are settled into our new home and are both happy with the move.

Highly recommended from me 10.out.of.10.the whole team works at poppy court coventry. From the manger wyatt and the senior manager. The cleaner. The Dinner lady. Housing. 21.have done everything possible in this place none stop since they took over. I recently moved in to a property in Nuneaton Warwickshire with My Wife who has many Medical Conditions, not knowing what to expect. We moved in in beginning of November 25. On 28th November 25. We were welcomed by a Keri who was the Housing Manager of our Property as well as other Properties where we moved in to. What a wonderful Female. Nothing is a problem for Keri she has gone above and beyond helping My Wife and I to settle in our Flat. She works in a Professional Manner as is so very friendly. Keri is an asset to Housing 21
