We found a stray cat with a severe injury in our back garden. We contacted the RSPCA and rescue pet agencies but to no avail. In desperation we drove to Goddards in Plaistow. They took immediate charge of the cat despite being fully booked up, checked for a microchip and then took charge of the cat. Such a relief!

Sophia, our cat just came in our family. I was so stressed to take her to the vet! She’s having a very strong personality and I thought she will be very stressed.
When we entered in the doctor’s room she immediately calmed down. The doctor was amazing, he cuddled her and I saw her staying for cuddles for the first time. I was amazed. I will definitely recommend this particular doctor at Goddart in Barking

I have visited goddard's twice recently. The first time I took a sparrow that had been caught by my cat but I had managed to rescue from him. I took the sparrow to Godard's because I thought he was injured. They were so kind, they took him in, looked after him said he would be fine and they would transfer him to a wildlife sanctuary where he would be okay..
The second time was to take my cat, Charlie. For a vaccination and flea and worming treatment, Charlie is an ex ferral and was very, very scared but they were so kind and treated him beautifully. I'm so glad that godards are local to me.

We got our cat neutered. They did a terrific job! They had friendly staff and allowed us to reschedule when we ran into problems.

I went to the Mile End branch and had overall a positive experience. The lady at the desk was really friendly and had a wonderful smile.

The appointment itself didn’t last that long, I took my cat for a general check up and vaccination. The vet was also really friendly and informative and answered all my questions and concerns.

The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating was because my appointment was at 09:30 and it wasn’t until 09:40-45 when I was seen. I appreciate that with animals appointment times may over run, but I wasn’t informed about the delay.

After 9 years with Goddard we cancelled our plan and are switching away today. The lies and gaslighing in the Acton branch are just too much with the new vets in this practice. They are just not trustworthy anymore! Vet changed our cat's worming and flea treatment and lied to my partner Advocate was no longer made. The new treatment DronSpot left a bald spot on our cat! Appearantly this happens a lot according to Google and Reddit, so DronSpot is known for causing serious and dangerous allegic reactions! Not only did they prescribe something that harmed our cat and lied about the regular treatment but lied again when we complained and tried to fix the issue. Our fur baby hates the vet, screams all the way there, pees and poops in the car and gets a heart murmur every time we visit. We asked if they can just give us a prescription for Advocate again and we can buy it ourselves since not avaliable on the regularl plan( which we still would pay for despite not getting all the benefits), ideally without having to stress our kitty even further by bringing him in. While the receptionist was lovely, the vet rudely printed out some "guidance" which was just words on a paper with no official logo, stamp or anything formal and said he can't prescribe Advocate for us to then go and pay at a diffrent vet/ pharmacy withiout stressing our cat more and brining him in because "it has been 18 months"... but the medication was changed this March so the vet had seen him 5 months ago not 18... his logic was from when it was last prescribed not when it was changed. Basically the man wanted to get rid of us. He was happy with us cancelling plans and moving to another vet. No offer to remedy and help with the alergic reaction they caused was made.
Receptionist offered and sent their complaints procedure helpfully though.
Such a shame they have clearly hired new vets here that don't care about harming animals. Vets that would lie. Vets that would refuse to help.
It gets worse. They did not tell Pet Plan we cancelled so we are getting payment chasing emails. When they were told about it... they doubled down and lied again saying they offered an alternative treatment with the same active ingredients. They DID NOT. Claimed they did this in an email ( even produced a screenshot no foubt AI-ed or Photoshopped) we never received this but also failed to mention or offer this in person just a few hour later making it very clear this simply wasnt true. Not only did they not mention this email that suddenly surfaced a week later when I went to the practice in person but why not prescribe this same medicine to begin with instead of the dangerous one? Are profits more important that a pets life?
They showed zero concern for our cat who they harmed through all of this. Did not even worry about the alegic reaction. Were more interested in arguing than helping. Just avoid Acton Goddard.
PS. Their vets will also put anything down in the notes. Don't ask any questions. Don't let them invent illnesses. The moment they write it down your insurance will exclude it. They know this. They do it anyway.
