Rubbish Customer service...Bought a Land Rover Defender 110 , Paid Cash £56.000. Car handed in darkness ( 6 pm - while I have been waiting since 12.00 to collect car ) .Hence , not able to check the car properly .On my return to Northumberland, my home address , found out the bonnet was not opening at all ( had to take car back to GC motors to have it fixed. Also at the same time to have a 'whistling sound ' fixed-which I was initially told it was coming from the radio-somehow,the mechanics applied GREASE to fix it.Unfortunately I had to take to Newcastle Land rover who had to put a new tensioner belt and the back passenger side door could not be open from the inside.Again fixed by Newcastle Land Rover . Also windscreen on passenger's side had several ' chipped ' which needed replacing by Autoglass in Newcastle. Faults with the car seem to be mounting on daily basis.The passenger side wing mirror is 'Wobbly ' which need fully replacing including the casing , been checked by Land Rover Newcastle - repair work required has been sent to GC Motors by email ( GC motors offer to replace the glass/mirror , rather than the full set .
The plastic panelling inside the boot door has got broken clips , making the panel loose.
The body work / arch panelling and around the car seperatting / getting unglued
Message via email from GC motors appears to me that they want a quick / cheap fix with glue and grease as they have done previously , requesting me to drive back to Harrogate GC Motors again / 200+ miles round trip/ 4 hours drive .So much for their 3 months warantee that supposed to come with the car and was also promised car can be fixed locally with any repair work when still under warrantee.Car was bought 2 months ago.

I recently purchased an Audi R8 Performance from GC Motors and wanted to share my experience of purchasing a high-performance vehicle from them.

Contacted by phone in the first instance, I spoke to Rob (Sales Executive) about an Audi R8 they had available. I was currently running an Audi RS6 C8 that I hoped GC Motors would take as a PX against the R8, and once I explained the details and specification of it, the valuation they offered was very good, and I was happy to proceed with the purchase. I live 300 miles away from GC Motors, so everything was initially handled over the phone, and all that was needed on the day of collection was a good check and road test of both vehicles.

Collection day couldn’t have gone smoother, and upon arrival (after a quick look around at some of the other amazing vehicles they have to offer) I was warmly greeted first by Michael and then Rob. With no prior-warning before the day, I mentioned to Rob that I would like to see the underneath of the R8 (as there were a few important checks that I wanted to do myself), to which Rob replied, “No problem at all, whatever you need”. Normally you wouldn’t expect this kind of service, but Rob made sure that I was completely happy with the R8 before progressing.

After the road test, the R8 was moved to one of the Service Areas so it could be raised up for inspection. Paul (the After Sales Manager who was there) couldn’t do enough to help, “Take your time, and just let me know whatever you need” he said. No pressure, no clock watching, I was just left to have a good look around the R8 at anything and everything I needed, with Paul available to answer any questions I had.

Once I’d completed the checks I wanted to do, the R8 was moved back outside the showroom, and I was introduced to Laura (the Compliance Manager) to go over the financial elements. Laura went into a lot of detail, ensuring that everything was tailored for me, and ensuring that I was happy to proceed. We also spent a long-time discussing our previous cars and our passion for high performance vehicles!

With everything completed, the signatures were done and keys handed over, Paul (Head of Business) came to meet and thank me, we also swapped stories about our previous experiences of high-performance car purchases and ownerships.

From the first interaction with Rob over the phone, right through to collection about a week later. The team at GC Motors couldn’t have done more to ensure the experience was nothing short of outstanding! No pressure while looking over the vehicle, nothing to hide, complete openness and transparency, anything I needed to ensure that I was happy with the vehicle - nothing was too big of an ask. What an amazing and fun team, and a real lesson in exceptional Customer Service. Rather than just selling these vehicles, everyone at GC Motors is a true petrol head, and it was fantastic to see and talk about their passion for these types of vehicles - which became even more apparent when Bailey was moving an Aston Martin Vanquish in the showroom, and Gareth said “You don’t have the Performance Mode enabled on that” – que a few revs of the throttle with performance mode enabled for all of us to enjoy the incredible sound! Amazing! :-)

Paul (After-sales Manager) - For his time, and being so incredibly helpful when we were looking over the car in the Service Area, allowing me to view the car on a ramp so we could look all over it in detail, and allowing me as much time as needed to go over everything with no pressure (which was really important with such a high-performance vehicle), answering all my questions and having a great understanding of the car overall, and the maintenance that had been carried out on it prior to sale.

Laura (Compliance Manager) - For her time going through all the options, attention to detail and ensuring that everything was correctly personalised for me. Also, really enjoyed our (rather long) chat about her passion for Subaru, high-performance cars, motorbikes, and all things automotive!

Great experience buying my F-Pace SVR. Justin was great and got the deal done quickly for me. It was my first time buying from GC Motors and I’d definitely go back. All the cars are prepped to a high standard and all finance and extras were explained in detail and clearly priced.
