They "closed for refurbishments" for supposedly two weeks in September, I was charged for the full month. I was happy to pay with the promise of an updated gym. Then in mid-October a sign appeared on the front door of the gym from their landlord essentially saying the property had been repossessed. I was also charged in full for the month of October. Absolutely none of this was (or has since been) communicated to members - the fact that their gym has literally been forced closed. The only way you would know is by going to the gym and finding the door padlocked with a sign on it. No one has emailed or messaged to say that our membership would be terminated or valid at another gym. I emailed the company last week requesting a refund for the two months where the gym has essentially been shut, that was completely ignored. Really sucks that they treat their customers like this as the gym was pretty good and super local to me. A PureGym opened one road over about six months ago, I would encourage everyone to just go there instead.

I enjoyed my experience at Energie Fitness having been a member for 2 years. However, the Bethnal Green branch announced they were closing for refurbishment for 2 weeks about a month ago, and never reopened (now "permanently closed" on Google and a sign on the door says the landlord has reclaimed the premises). I've tried contacting both the club and head office multiple times to cancel with no response, and I'm continuing to be charged full price for a non operational club. Meanwhile they continue to send vague and misleading comms about reopening and accept new memberships to the branch on their website. Blocking members from cancelling is no way to run a business. Avoid.

Low standards for cleanliness, etiquette (some gymgoers work out barefoot/in flipflops and don't clean up after themselves), and the machines/equipment are not maintained.

I have sent an email to the manager of the Bethnal Green Branch, Michael, to cancel my membership and he refused to do it. He said I need to either for in person or send it to the general email address.
Please be aware of the dodgy behaviour this chain has. If you look at other negative reviews you will see that they find every possible excuse to avoid cancelling your membership.

If I am reaching out to the branch manager I simply do not understand why he cannot process my cancellation or forward it to the relevant internal team / general email address to process it.

Also, the gym is a mess. I definitely will not recommend it; it's affordable but definitely one of the worst gyms I've been in London. Equipment does not receive proper maintenance and the gym is always untidy making it really hard to find the necessary weights / equipment.

The worst thing at this gym is the staff. Before the gym was made 24/7, the staff was never on time to open the gym at 6:30am as advertised on their website. People had to wait outside I the cold sometimes by more than 20 min - a real shame.

They should start looking after their customers a bit more now that PureGym opened just around the corner from Energie Fitness Bethnal Green.

I recently had the pleasure of trying out Energy Fitness Bethnal green and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Here’s a breakdown of my thoughts:

Facilities and Equipment: The gym is equipped with the latest and most advanced machines, catering to every type of workout. Whether you’re into cardio, strength training, or HIIT, there’s something for everyone. The equipment is well-maintained and hygienic, which is a big plus.
The cleanliness of the gym is impeccable. The staff ensures that all areas, including the locker rooms and restrooms, are spotless. There are plenty of sanitizing stations around, making it easy to wipe down equipment before and after use
The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome. I met Mike and Lauren who gave me an excellent tour
The overall atmosphere is motivating and positive.

I was staying in Bethnal Green on business and wanted to work out, after searching online for free Gym passes I stumbled across Energie Fitness just up the road from me - It's a brilliant gym, great equipment, staff couldn't be more accommodating, I'm moving to East in 3 months and will be joining this gym - 5 stars!

I joined energie gym and so far everything is going well. Energie gym is well organise,clean and tidy. Also the amazing thing about the gym is that they can create you a workout plan free of charge that will help you achieve your goals. The staffs are really friendly always ready to help. Specially (Carta) she's the most caring person ever ,she took her time to show me around on my first day and created workout plan after I explained to her exactly what I'm looking to achieve and so for I'm enjoyingit. I really recommend energie gym.

Responsive and helpful.with query. The gym itself is very clean and well equiped and good atmosphere. Staff friendly and helpful.

As being a new member of the gym all the friendly people there showed how to use any machines i was unsure on how to use which really allowed me to adapt to the area quite quickly.

Love it, making the most of available space
