Raquel in Customer Service was knowledgeable, efficient and very polite to deal with. I needed a new skip, the service agreement was signed an hour later! Same great service from a company we've been using for 3+ years.

Incredibly slow to replace damaged property.
I had a skip collected on 06/08/24 where I received a call from that unfortunately their driver had cracked a drain cover by my door. They apologised and assured me it would be replaced, in the meantime they covered the open hole with paving slabs so it wouldn't be a hazard. I thanked them for getting in touch and said it's not a problem. I called back 4 weeks later on 03/09/24 as the cover had still not been replaced where I was told they'd reach out to the local branch to get it sorted and they'd be back to me with a date. I then called again a week later on 10/09/24 as I hadn't heard anything through and was told the original person I was in contact with was unavailable but a note would be left and they'd give me a call. It is now 3 working days later with no follow up once again. I have finally got through after 4 attempts today 13/09/24 where I have been told the replacement part is finally 'on order', but they cannot give me any sort of timeframe for when it will arrive. This is 6 weeks since the original damage.
I spent the last weekend clearing out the backed up drains as it turns out the driver didn't remove any of the cast iron drain cover he smashed into the (then clean) drain, just put the paving slabs over the top. As you can imagine that was a very fun experience...
I am finally out of patience and if this is not rectified by this time next week (20/09/24) I will be replacing it myself and sending an invoice for the part cost & time spent fixing the state your driver left it in.

Firstly may I apologise for this situation; both the initial damage caused and also the subsequent failure to keep you to to date with how we were going to remedy the situation.
I am told our contractor has now been to site and carried out repairs and as per my e-mail to you, I would be grateful if you could confirm that these have been completed to your satisfaction.
Sadly we don't always get things right, but we do learn from these experiences and make changes within Ellgia to try to prevent these things from occurring again.
I hope you will consider using us again in the future should you require any additional skips.

Do NOT order from this company. They take 4 weeks to arrive poor correspondence and will NOT give you a refund for goods that are too small or not if you change your mind . They are breaking the law selling to the Uk with their stupid policies. STAY AWAY!!!

You have not responded to my request for further information to enable me to fully investigate your complaint, therefore I am only able to respond based on the detail of your review.
Ellgia are a waste collection and treatment business. We do not provide goods as such other than wheelie bins or skips that the customer would fill with waste and we would take away. Our industry is classified more as service provider than a goods provider. If a container is delivered and it is too large or small for your needs, as long as there is no waste within it, we will of course arrange to replace this to something more suitable. It is not often this scenario occurs within our industry, the majority of our containers are sold under a contract which is delivered by qualified sales representative visiting the business and fully establishing the need. House hold skips are more reliant on the home owner to select the right option, and if ordering on line, we provide a comprehensive frequently asked questions section along with other guidance to help individuals to make an informed choice. At all stages any customer can contact us directly to talk through any concerns they have.

Must have changed hands, as now too unreliable
This company used to be amazing, but this year had become very unreliable. I had hoped the promises where true and it was a minor blip and would be all back on track in a week of so. We are now months in and still playing bin roulette every week, will it be collected or not??
Sadly not is often the answer. The reason if you can speak to someone is always breakdowns, so either the fleet is now old and unreliable, or its just an excuse. But now you dont get a collection, sorry!
Requested a second bin as ours overflows when the dont collect, however this request was refused unless we paid for another bin?? Errr, we wouldnt need it if you actually collected once a week, instead of every now and then.
I never complain lightly, but sadly Ellgia just isnt the company it once was 😫

I give 5 stars solely because of Raquel. Up until we started dealing with her, we were starting to look elsewhere for our waste management as the service and response had become almost unbearable. Raquel is an absolute breath of fresh air, nothing is too much trouble, our requests and queries are dealt with promptly, and all done in a pleasant manner. If Ellgia management are reading this, Raquel has single handedly stopped us from looking elsewhere. She is worth her weight in gold.

Good range of skips available, with delivery for the same week possible. Competitive prices! Very friendly customer service who called to make sure there was sufficient access to deposit the skip, and replied promptly to email queries.

Green is GO!
We went over to Ellgia for the collection of our recycling waste, saving a considerable amount on what was to be charged from our current, nationwide provider. So now we'll no longer be seeing red (lorries) when we get our invoice!
