I bought 4kg of potatoes on Saturday 10th Feb, today (14th Feb) they are now $10.99. Have a heart big supermarkets, uour not helping

I go to the Greymouth countdown and really like 99 sodawater but only about once a month there's six bottles or no bottles on the shelves or in the store so I've been told. Other shelves are often near empty, covit19 gets blamed for the lack of stock, it wasn't this bad before new management took over.

I’m disgusted in the service I experienced 2 days ago with an online click and collect at Countdown Feilding and the call centre person I spoke to on the phone when I received a text to say they could not for fill my order for pickup at the selected time I had chosen for 9am to later at 2pm. I immediately called the 0800 number as per the text to explain that I was unable to make a pickup in the afternoon due to other family commitments. The person on the phone was totally unhelpful and essentially had no other solutions to propose expect pickup at 2 or cancel the order, even when I offered to go in the morning to shop for my order myself but that was objected to and to make matters worse when I had no choice but to cancel was told I had to wait up to 7 days to get my money back and when I objected as I needed the money to reshop for my groceries the person told me Countdown didn’t have my money but that my bank did. Which is totally untrue having got off my phone and rang my bank who said that was incorrect, and unfortunately they couldnt reverse the money as I had used a debit card. Really angry I had to go buy my groceries and pay again and now 2 days later I still have not received my money back from Countdown. This is terrible and had it been someone financially struggling to buy groceries with the cost of food so expensive, they may not of had the extra money to pay twice before getting their money back. I will not be shopping there again and will be asking for a refund of my Christmas Club. I have also since learnt that Countdown competitor supermarket Foodstuffs does not take the money from your account until the online click and collect order is picked and packed by staff, so a note to all that would be my recommendation.

An item I was after wasn't on shelf. When I asked a team member she was helpful enough to sought another to help. But that 2nd team member shook her head and said out of stock, didn't bother to do her job properly and confirm in the system. I found the product in a different area of the supermarket, so not out of stock. CD Eastgate, chicken nuggets in 2 different freezers.

six items in two bags (bags cost $1.50). Ridiculous. $14 to deliver said six items. Excessive (Mitre 10 manages to deliver more product, well packaged, further distance for $7). Half the items I wanted not in stock. Still no refund after two days for items not supplied. Very poor service.

Useless...received the wrong products (e.g. a $20 leg of pork instead of the $42 leg of lamb paid for), couldn't get a refund using the pathetic online chatbot, just went around in circles

Countdown took $168.02 from my bank, and the order did not go through, it was an error on there part, as it said error, not realizing they took my money. Ive rung Countdown, and the bank, and all they have done is blame each other, and expect me to ring several times to ask for my money back. I took photos from my account that show countdown took my money, but they refuse to give my money back, instead they are blaming my bank, and my bank are blaming them. In the meantime what happened to my refund, and why won't they give it back???
This is the worst experience of my life, they took my money, and don't care. They need to realize this was no ordinary transaction, It was an error from countdown, and thats why it won't come up. I know they took my money, as It was gone from my account, and still is. Yes I got some more groceries that day, but you can clearly see that I had to deposit the money from other account to do so, so stop putting the blame on that. Give me my money back, Please....

consistently messes up online orders. there no point in a delivery system if i have to get 90 percent of it refunded though a painstakingly long online refund process, they are a bunch of baffoons that pretend to supply goods.and is a waste of time. just go shop at pack n save

Very bad service. One item was missing and I went back to Countdown Birkenhead to complain. I showed the manager the packing list with the missing item (5 pack refuse bags) on it. She would not give me the missing item but told me to ring customer service instead. Not good enough. This has caused inconvenience.

Countdown bayfair always run out of cheap bread. Its almost like they only order a certain amount so the public will buy the expensive bread. Their is no way my household can afford 1 bread that costs $3.50 or over. This is a habit of Bayfairs Countdown. They do this Constantly. Order in a small load of cheap bread so the POOR has to buy exoensive bread. Thats ripping off the consumers and im about to take this complaint further.

I am 82 years old with arthritic hands, I use the checkout because the assistants often make allowance and help me through the shopping task. Tonight (Sunday 25 Sept) at seven o'clock at Kerikeri Countdown I was watched impassively by a the check out operator while I struggled for perhaps ten minutes to pack my goods in the bag I bought there. A line formed behind me wanting to be served but your dingbat operator was frozen. Heavens I know good help is hard to get at present but in my position would you return to that store?

Bought a quarter of a cabbage today was $3 .49.. that would amount to over $13 for a whole cabbage... a total rip off... Countdown Eastgate ...

The online delivery service miss some items so frequently that it has prompted me to write this review. Yes you get a refund, after logging all the missing items via an automated phone service. This takes time especially when bags full of stuff are missing. Then you still have to go drive in and buy it yourself since you need the items for meals. It is a shambles. It is really surprising to get it so wrong so frequently. The packer puts the groceries in bags. Another packer loads the bags into the truck. The driver delivers it. Only 3 people at most involved. Amazing. (Te Awamutu)

Terrible…. We changed back to countdown online shopping delivery from new world because new world were crap.
But countdown is even worse for the last 6-7 deliveries there’s been stuff missing ie frozen food ..today it was bananas why can’t they get it right…. These supermarkets earn millions and they just can’t get it right , we are sick to death of calling them trying to get items re delivered…one time they re delivered frozen food that they forgotten to deliver and left it outside on drive and didn’t even tell us !!! So all of it had defrosted

Went to the Highland Park Countdown for shopping. Specials section 1/2 price. Was told the special starts next week. I told them it was false advertising. Got told, "I don't know!" Got the photos.

Countdown Westgate has changed the check out area and now only has 2 check outs. Was standing in a cue for over three quarters of an hour and only 2 people in front of me. They have decided to open more self check outs and the cue for that was unbelievable, i can’t do my own check out due to cancer and having to stand that long is ridicules especially for the elderly. You have half a store at the checkouts blocked off and not used anymore. At least set up another two check outs for faster service. Or if you are only going to have only two check outs make sure you have someone who is fast and has experience in processing the groceries rather than a learner. I wasn’t the only one complaining in the line as to how slow the check out operators in both lanes were. Come on countdown stop being lazy and go back to getting your customers through as fast as you can. New World down the road has about 5 check outs open and the most you have to wait in line there is about 5 minutes.

Really tired of Countdown significantly increasing its prices- the latest example Gullon sugar free chocolate digestive biscuits up from 4.80 to 5.90
Just seems opportunistic and price gouging to me.

Well first of all I want to say that your online and delivery sux, this is not the first time or second time that we have our shopping delivered from te Awamutu store.. 9/10 times half our groceries aren't there and I have yo call the store and so today I thought it would be different but no! Still products were not in our shopping from our list.. well you seriously have to either put someone else in charge or something drastically has to change, im sure im not the only one getting someone else's shopping...

2 bad recent experiences with Countdown.
First, took an item to the checkout that was marked as discounted but it scanned through as the full price. When I mentioned to the lady that the item should actually be $7 dollars cheaper, she said "nah that's not what it's coming through as". I said no I'm not paying that when it's advertised as different so she got her manger to go and get the physical label from the shelf which advertised the discount. She then quietly manually inputted the discount (no apology) - I was left wondering how many people picked up this item based on the discounted price and never noticed that it was scanning incorrectly. This is false advertising.

Second experience: On midnight of the day I collected my click and collect order, the funds were debited from my account including items that were out of stock. It states that refunds will be reinstated 7-10 days later. I'd just like to say that isn't much good for people on limited budgets who need their food today, not in 7 days time. Why not just debit for the items you are going to deliver on. Also, if you don't respond within a minute to the chat box human they cut you off - not great service.

All in all poor experience.

The cooked chickens are becoming more appalling by the day. They taste of preservatives, are dry and inedible. Sadly this convenient food is has become a waste of time and money. Countdown, where is your pride?
