Boothiy was brilliant from start to finish. We originally booked with another company who went bust. We booked Boothiy about weeks before our wedding they were great with the whatsapp service answering any questions and being patient about booking another photo booth company.

The box arrived perfecftly and was easy to set up, all of our wedding guests love it, being able to take photos, create gifs and boomerangs.

The photos were great quality and provided us with entertainment seeing what all our guests did.

We will definitely look to hire at future events as its such a reasonable price and great quality and service. Thank you again

Honestly, don’t even waste your money!!

We ordered a photo booth for our wedding in May. I sent numerous messages due to having no confirmation for the order. When they replied via WhatsApp, it was so blunt and simply rude. When it arrived, it was soooooo flimsy. We didn’t even bother putting it out due to the high chances of it breaking on us and us being charged for this. We didn’t even bother opening most of the items in the box after realising the tablet device itself was covered in tape and realising how flimsy and cheap the tripod stand was. Absolute waste of money.

I never got an email confirmation of my booking which you would expect as standard. The receipt email I received advised to email them using payment @boothiy.com to get in touch which is what I did when I was asking for confirmation. I sent several emails then found a customer service one. I've had very blunt replies from Tom advising I was in the wrong for using the email address because it doesn't go anywhere! Well sort your receipt out because that tells me to email that address, he hasn't acknowledged this at all and continues to tell me I am in the wrong. I have cancelled my booking for complete lack of faith in this company and 15 working days ago I was told I would receive a refund and nothing. My emails have been ignored so I am about to raise a section 78 with my credit card company.
What seemed like a cheaper way of doing things has actually been more expensive because I only get half the money I paid back (if I ever get it back). Avoid this company.

The photo booth itself was straight forward and easy to set up and use, however the printer that came with it was awful. It was slow to connect, ran out of ink quickly, broke half way through the night and didn’t print over half of the photos so we’ve paid out to print them off our own backs. This seems to be a common problem from the looks of the reviews of other users that also had the printer hire. Our dedicated person tried replacing the ink, turning it on and off repeatedly and checked if any paper had gotten jammed (all of the common expected issues with a printer) but all was fine.

The only other thing I would say about the simple photo booth is that the tripod is incredibly short, therefore anyone remotely tall has to crouch. Because you can’t turn it on until the day it was hard to realise this and at that point it was too late to get a table to put it on! It would have been good to know the dimensions / height beforehand so could be a good thing to include on the website.

We didn’t get offered a refund for the unused paper and the staff seemed less than sympathetic / helpful and just said we should have contacted them earlier (which was impossible as I was only made aware of it not working at the end of our wedding night). The only response we had was that the order was fulfilled because the printer worked at the start of the night… considering we paid £50 for the hire and an extra £35 for additional paper (that we couldn’t use because the printer broke) it seems a little unfair to say that is a fulfilled service.

The service we had in trying to get help after this issue in comparison to the super friendly and helpful service we had when booking was surprising as the main reason we booked was the friendly and helpful service.

Helpful staff helped with any questions we had, delivery was on time. Easy to set up and gave my brother something to do on the day, would hire again

I had this company booked for my weeding and the idea of the company and the simplicity of it is amazing BUT
when I asked a simple question ( what do the back drops look like ) the communications I got back there less than helpful and quite blunt. I then got hold of the director ( Steve Thomas) and again he was about a helpful as a chocolate tea pot, saying we had no backgrounds booked with our package, so we sent a screen shot of our order confirmation and then he out right denied it even though the proof was sat in front of him.
So on top of that he then said he would cancel the booking and leave us 13 days before our wedding with no photo booth, this was booked in February 2021.
So if anyone from the company reads this sort your selfs out, and if you are looking to book them BEWARE.

I would like to start off with that the concept of what Boothiy are offering is fab but the execution is not.
The booth was ordered for a Saturday but received on the Friday which was great; however, you cannot set up the Boothiy until you plan to use is at if it should shut down/run out of battery then you are screwed - apparently the booth will not work if this should happen. I would of liked to be able to play around with it to make sure I understood the device beforehand.
The instructions came in an awful heavily used state and the writing wasn't very clear. They were very vague and when trying to set up a party whilst trying to sort this out, was just a complete nightmare. I had 2 technically minded men and me on the task but I had to walk away from it. There was just no organisation with the contents of the box, 2 little screws rattling in an empty box for Allen keys and a random Allen key elsewhere. It was just so all unclear where everything was and what it was all there for as the instructions were just so poor.
The printer that came with the Booth (paid extra for) was absolutely shocking. It was a nightmare to connect and kept disconnecting throughout the evening which was frustrating. Once it was finally reconnected (turning the print device off and on) all the prints that had been sent to the printer were all backed up and took a while for only a few of them to come through. The printer was so slow - not what I would call an instant printer. There was no instructions provided for the printer set-up so we tried to call the 'sos' number given but it was constantly engaged. We ended up Whatsapp-ing the company and although they managed to help my husband set everything up eventually, we just have found their whole attitude throughout just really uninterested and lazy. I never felt like a valued customer, especially after spending £250 on something that was meant to help make my wedding reception party memorable. Even when I told the company afterwards that the printer kept disconnecting so we couldn't get the photos, there was no apology or even acknowledgement. very disappointing.
the Boothiy system its self wasn't ideal - its literally an iPad that uses its front camera on a ring light. that's it. It would only take photos in a burst of 4 with a space of maybe 3-5 seconds between each snap. Most of the photos were blurry because people were rushing to change props (not included) or positions.
It also gave the user the option to sent the photos taken via air drop, email or text but no-one got any through. Thankfully, I got a link (about 4/5 days after I sent the Boothiy back) to all the photos, so I sent that to all my guests for them to save, though a lot of them were disappointed.
The whole process of dismantling the Boothiy after use is a nightmare too; the instructions for that was literally 'reverse the set up instructions'. You have to photograph EVERY SINGLE THING to prove the booth or parts haven't been lost or damaged. Now this is only to cover your own back but if you're planning to rent this for a party that you wont be sober at the end of then make sure you have a designated trustworthy person who's happy to stick to soft drinks all night.
I couldn't enjoy my night because i was so concerned about this flipping booth going back.

All in all I didn't like Boothiy and would not recommend; it is costly for what it is and the customer service was just shocking. I would rather of spent £250 on a photograher for the evening or bought myself a ring light and printer.
As I started with, the idea is great but this company seriously need to put more effort into what they are offering, the way they deal with customers/potential customers and make things more simple to use.
