Went to pick up my parcels.
The email said photo ID but didn't specify any particular type.
I presented 2 different photo ID's (NHS & university).
The lass & her manager said these were unacceptable and said I should have brought my photo driving license. They were particularly dogmatic and inflexible (and where on the email did it say it could only be the driving licence).
Not only ignoring the company's instruction, it showed particular job worthiness. Not impressed at all. Meant another journey to pick the stuff up. Obstructive & unhelpful.
Poor customer relation.
I'll stick to buying stuff from Cotswold Outdoor - they're much more obliging.

My size of sandal was not available in store and the assistant that served me went above and beyond in helping me to order on my phone. She was extremely helpful, patient and polite.

I had a good idea of the make of walking boots that might purchase and was given time to browse and look at the range available. I was then approached by a friendly member of staff who brought me a pair to try on. Again I was given time to consider my options before closing the deal.

Excellent offers. Helpful staff. Speedy 'Click & Collect'.

I was looking for some walking boots for my son’s upcoming scout trip and the staff at this store were so incredibly helpful. They were very knowledgeable and made me choose the perfect pair. The store has so much choice and is really well laid out making it very easy to locate exactly what you need. It’s so lovely to see happy, cheery staff who clearly enjoy their job!

Unable to order item in shop had to go online.

After a redelivery to the shop I was inpressed by the collection time but not the fact that after ordering the email to collection notice took a week longer than nessarary .

I went in for a waterproof cover for the camping trolley cart that you sell but you do not sell it but your very helpful usomer service assistant showed me an alternative. It fits 100%. Excellent service. Thank you. Please convey my comment to the Bromley Kent store. Thank you.

Good communication, friendly staff. They helped me get rid of the over huge delivery box and the filling paper inside. When you deliver to one of your own shops, you might not need all this extra wrapping though.

Helpful assistant at the store who informed me about click and collect after checking availability on website. Efficient and helpful on my return to collect my coat.

Good prices, good service on line and in their shops.

A very unsatisfactory experience today. We bought a child’s anorak today from the Bromley branch. When we got home we discovered that the shop had neglected to remove the security tag. When we rang the store and explained the situation to the manager, Chris, I regret to say that he was thoroughly unhelpful. To be fair, he did apologise but insisted that our only option was to ‘pop it back to the shop’ to have the tag removed. This would involve a round trip of at least two hours or more, plus additional parking fees. He rejected out of hand my request for a replacement jacket to be sent in exchange (“we don’t do that”)! and could offer no other solution, other than to ring Blacks Head Office in Manchester. This I did, wasting a further 20 minutes with the automated telephone menu. Eventually I was put through to a customer service agent who was more sympathetic and tried to be helpful but again could offer us no resolution other than to return the garment to a store (or post it back for a refund). He was unable to deal with the matter as an online order because it was an in-store purchase.
We are left with the prospect of another round trip - thoroughly inconvenient. What a shame: Blacks used to be ‘go-to’ store for outdoor products and for customer service. Not any more.

Wanted a pair of Hi-Tech walking boots as I've been using the brand for decades. Found them easily and at half price. Sales assistant was prompt in coming to my aid, processing the transaction and making me aware of my post sales rights.Boots have now been tested out and are comfortable and perfect for my needs.

The range of good quality clothes and supplies is second to none and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable on clothing and equipment for all outdoor needs. I got everything I went in for in one trip.

Visited Blacks a few weeks ago to buy some warm weather gear for the Newcastle United FC v Bromley FC, FA Cup! Third Round! I preferred to buy in person as opposed to on-line as I needed advice. The gentleman who served me was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I bought a base layer (which I can also wear as a running top) and some thermal socks. I was toasty warm in Newcastle even if we did lose! Huge thanks to your staff for their excellent advice. I will be returning! 😃

I BOUGHT EXTRA ASSOCIATED GOODS BECAUSE I TRUSTED HIS ADVICE WHICH WAS NOT SIMPLY BASED ON MAKING EXTRA SALES. WELL DONE. MAKES A CHANGE TO GET GOOD KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVICE IN A SHOP THESE DAYS.
