I was contacted by Amethyst on Linkdin as I was currently doing my PGCE. Lisa created an unique profile and identified a school very quickly. I then had my first interview. During the early stages of my PGCE training, I came across Amethyst Education through my University and got in contact with them. Got in contact with Ashley who put me in contact with Lisa.
Lisa has been so helpful during the whole searching for my NQT position and always on hand when needed. Lisa eased the stress for me and dealt with everything and always kept me in loop which is fantastic.

I cannot recommend Amethyst Education enough. Katy phoned me when it was convenient after I signed up. She informed me that this isn't like some agencies that send random jobs to apply for which from recent experience other agencies do. Katy listened to my needs. She helped me secure my first NQT interview at a trust I actually really wanted to work for, took care of all the admin such as references and it was all seamless. Within a week of receiving my CV and personal statement Katy Lanaway had secured me two interviews in the exact location i was looking. We had a delay in finding out how the first interview went, but during the time Katy did everything she could to find out what was going on and keep me in the loop. Lisa is one of the calmest people I have ever worked with and she has such an unique manner in doing her job. She eliminated the stress and worries that come with the process of applying and interviewing and I am so glad I was lucky enough to have her advice along the way. Lisa always has the kindest words and helped me boost my confidence between the interviews! She played a very important role in securing my NQT position and made the process seem quick and easy.

Throughout the whole process Amethyst have been superb. Katy provided me with a detailed example personal statement for me to build mine from, contacted schools for me and kept me informed throughout. Constantly checking to see whether the process was going smoothly and asking if the schools were right for me, a great help. I would highly recommend especially if you are a trainee, it takes a lot of weight off your shoulders and means you don't have to worry about a lot of the application process. I also got feedback from the school that hired me telling me how superb Katy was. Delighted by the experience.

Really good service. I will keep it concise as there are lots of good reviews up here. Within a week I was given three interview opportunities at great schools, close to home, and catering to my preferences. Ended up choosing the 'outstanding' one close to home after a successful interview. Can't raise a single complaint, would recommend.

I heard about Amethyst from a friend and wanted to get ahead of the game. I had a conversation the week I sent my details, not even a week later an interview opportunity. I decided to post this review after I saw Ashley's post on LinkedIn celebrating the latest 5* trustpilot review, below, which felt like a mockery of my own experience with the agency. Like the other 1 star review - I had a very different experience with Amethyst. This review is based on my own personal experience and is not intended to negate the other reviews on here. When I was first contacted by Ashley on LinkedIn, I came to trustpilot to see if the agency was any good, as I had not previously had any experience working with agencies when searching for jobs. Seeing loads of 5* reviews, I had high hopes for Amethyst. Unfortunately, for me, Amethyst was next to useless. Since my initial telephone consultation, I have seen jobs I would be suitable for come and go with no communication, in fact, radio silence from Amethyst after my 30 minute conversation with them. I am more than suitably qualified and have experience working in education, so I'm not sure what was difficult in presenting me as a candidate for the many suitable jobs I have seen on TES. I don't have time to apply for all of them as I am busy with my PGCE and other things. I've had to proactively message Ashley asking if there were any suitable opportunities available (knowing there were, as advertised on TES). After a delay of replying to my messages, I'm then put forward for vacancies that have already been filled. Poor communication and a waste of time in my view. Again, this is my personal experience, as you can see there are many NQTs who have been helped by Amethyst, unfortunately I was not one of them.

Thanks Ashley - I appreciate your reply (now removed). However, I am NOT a psychology teacher, and this provides further evidence about the lack of care and attention that has gone into getting to know me and the positions that I am suitable for.

Ashley has provided me with more support in only 3 days of knowing him than my University has in the year I've been there.
Sent my details to him on Tuesday, had an immediate response and booked in a phone call on Thursday AM. By 4pm, Ashley had found me an NQT role and an interview the following day at an outstanding school, who has a huge focus on women in STEM (My IDEAL place). I was even given info on the school as a whole from Ashley who had worked with him previously, really settling my nerves before speaking with them
10 minutes after the interview, I was offered the NQT job AND a placement for my PGCE.
Ashley was in constant contact, making sure he answered any questions, chased up loose ends and even had time to wish me luck before hand. He even called me after to congratulate and if there was anything else I needed him to do. Communication is unmatched as he really takes his time in understanding who you are and what you're looking for. He even managed to understand and better articulate my links from two separate industries, which helped me later in my interview!

This is my first time working with any form of agency and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I can't recommend him enough.

Amethyst Education are the most incredible recruitment agency. From the second I contacted them, finding me a suitable job became Ashley's obsession. Within 2 hours of me sending him my CV he had found two schools that were interested and by the end of the week I accepted an offer with one of those school. Before the interview I was having doubts, unsure about the right choice for me, the entire time Ashley was just a text message away, and within minutes would respond. He reassured me that the hiring process was just as much about me liking the school as the school liking me. His professionalism and dedication is unmatched by anyone I have ever worked with. I can't recommend Amethyst enough. Ashley and the team found me interviews with outstanding/good schools where others couldn't and sustained this over a long period of time as I struggled to find work due to Covid/strong competition. They didn't lose faith in me and continued the job search on my behalf, freeing up my time for supply and cover work.
