In a word - fantastic!

I signed up to Amethyst with Ashley, who was amazing from the first second. Within 24 hours of chatting to him about what I was looking for in a school, I had an interview that same day and I got the position!

Ashley massively boosted my confidence as a ECT candidate and I'm so thankful for his help finding my first teaching position.

I signed up to the agency with Ashley. He was super helpful and within a day of having my CV he had arranged for myself to have 2 interviews with two different schools in which I was successful and got a position. He was also super helpful at finding my girlfriend interviews!

I have had such a good experience with this company! Within less than a week, i had an interview with a school. Ashley had kindly gone out of his way to ensure me and my partner where placed in schools close together. All questions where asked and answered promptly. Quick and easy sign up process. Would definitely recommend to any teachers looking in finding a job in London.

I was doing a PGCE (History) and my university forwarded an email from Ashley with details about the Amethyst agency and suggested we think about contacting them. I decided to do so, and am glad that I did. Ashley spoke to me first and was very friendly and extremely quick to respond. I was then handled by Lisa who is responsible for my area (Yorkshire and North-East). I felt confident that Lisa understood my career goals, preferences and teaching philosophy, and at her request I sent various documentation to help her match me to an employer. Lisa was very communicative, supportive and friendly.

I believe the authors of some other reviews may be confused as to what a teaching recruitment agency does. Many schools will advertise jobs directly on TES or other job sites, but many others prefer to work through agencies. Signing up with a recruitment agency is not an excuse for you to ignore any jobs you see come up on TES! It is another avenue to find a job.

So, in the end, I applied for a ton of jobs myself and got nowhere. Then Lisa called me back (having checked up on me and reported on her efforts a number of times in the interim) to arrange an interview with a school that she thought would be a good fit for me. Lisa was spot on - the school was an excellent fit for my personal and career goals. Lisa then arranged the interview details with the school, and I turned up on the day and after a very stress-free interview was offered the job.

Frankly in this extremely difficult year I do not think I would have got a permanent teaching job for September if it wasn't for Lisa and Amethyst. Not only that, but my new job is at an excellent school, much better than most I've applied to on TES!

My advice to all PGCE trainees or NQTs seeking a permanent position would be to sign up with Amethyst and be honest about what you are looking for (previously Lisa had contacted me about some other types of schools which didn't appeal, and this helped us better understand what we wanted).

I had a fantastic experience with Amethyst. Ashley was super supportive through the whole process with constant advice during the process. I barley had to organise anything only show up on the day!

I could not speak higher about the support given by both Ashley and Katy. Coming from Northern Ireland, I needed a degree of trust and support to make such a big step. He matched me up with a wonderful school in Slough which is everything I wanted in a role. As an NQT it can feel really daunting applying for positions but they take that away!

I am pleased to have asked Amethyst education to help me find a teaching job! First, I would have liked to find something in Hampshire but because of the sanitary situation, it was hard to find a school over there. When I said I wouldn't mind opening my horizons to London and its area, they have been very professional and contacted me very quickly for an interview.
