Policy details needed adjusting, they couldnt help me on the live chat and told me to call. I called and was given 3 different pieces of information with 2 different price changes, then after over an hour on the phone I was cut off. I called again today and have been told my policy has been updated but they didnt have access to tell me by how much. Yet another hour on the phone without any serious resolution

We understand how frustrating it must have been to be redirected from live chat, receive conflicting information regarding the changes and costs involved, spend a considerable amount of time on the phone, and then be disconnected before your query was fully resolved. It's also disappointing to hear that, when you called back, you were unable to obtain clear confirmation of the updated premium.
This is not the experience we want for our customers, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. I have checked you policy and can confirm the updates have been processed. Repeated threatening debt text message
Title: Debt recovery threats over £50.98 already paid – seeking £250 compensation

I am extremely disappointed with Marmalade Insurance.
Marmalade continues to send me threatening debt recovery text messages demanding £50.98, despite me having proof of payment and a letter from Marmalade relating to the same balance.
I find it completely unacceptable to be chased for money that I have already paid. I have documentary evidence, yet I am still receiving demands months later.
This has caused unnecessary stress, worry and frustration. I should not have to keep defending myself against debt recovery threats over a balance that has already been paid.
I have reached the point where I feel that posting publicly on Trustpilot is the only way to get Marmalade to take this matter seriously and respond properly.
I want Marmalade to investigate this immediately, correct its records, stop all debt recovery demands relating to this balance and confirm in writing that the matter is closed.
Given the avoidable distress and inconvenience caused by repeatedly pursuing me for money I have already paid, I am also seeking £250 in compensation.
I expect a proper response and a satisfactory resolution, rather than further demands for payment. I retain my proof of payment and Marmalade’s correspondence as evidence.
I will update this review if the company resolves the matter satisfactorily.

an absolute disgrace of company, changing customers for for any little details that don't match their records, trying to charge, because my licence date didn't match the records, then i provided the copy of licence with the exact date that i had previously said, and no correspondence, they just wanted to go ahead and charge me anyway, stay away, scum

The price was very competitive.
My only gripe is the fact that you have to purchase within so many hours or the price will increase. I effectively purchased my insurance 3 weeks early.

The AI was better than the personel……where I was left for 15 minutes per question….my answer was never read just proceeded to what they thought was correct. Tried adding a car filled out the information required only to be told we can’t help you atm but feel free to call us. Don’t offer the service if you can’t help. This is the sort of company you break down at midnight and can’t get help because there all asleep……AVOID AVOID AVOID!!’

Have been waiting on the phone for nearly 2 hours to find out if there's any different I need to pay.
New customer. Not happy to speak to robot who get my post code and dob wrong a few times. I need to repeat again and again.
Spoke to Nancy and Bubble who is helpful but need to passed me from one department and another.
Don't like to speak to robot. Prefer to speak to human.
Lastly can you please send me a text to confirm if I need to pay any difference.

1st used marmalade ins back when my Son was learning. Now my daughter is learning is was easy and convenient to insure with marmalade. Pricing was great (cheaper than daily coffee) and no hidden costs.

Like most insurance companies Marmalade offer an attractive rate to get new business but their price for auto-renew is less competitive. Fortunately I had switched off auto renew which encouraged me to check a comparison site. Marmalade wanted £262 but I got a policy with Aviva for £169. No doubt I will be switching again next year because all of these companies seem to rely on customers being too lazy or busy to go through the application process from scratch.

What out for Auto renewal
About a month before my insurance ran out, they emailed to say I was on auto renewal. I switched that off as I like to shop around (I have a date stamped screenshot to prove this) Got a better price else where thought that was it. Then less than 7 days before my policy ran out, they emailed late one night to say money was going out of my account. Now trying to speak to a human , that ain't happening you stuck with chat bots. No one could tell me why they had switched auto renewal back on, no one admitted to fraudulently taking money from my account but at least they did refund straight away. Thats not the point though, I had to chase this up! Having 2 lots of insurance policies (£1'000) going out of my account could have caused a lot of financial stress and resulted in missed direct debits. For that reason, I won't ever use them again! How many more people have they done this to? How long before people may realise they've paid twice?
