New ex30 was dangerous to drive due to…

New ex30 was dangerous to drive due to software faults. Car went into Volvo UK for 6 weeks without any communication at all with myself. I bought an electric car as I have solar panels and this provides me with free fuel (minus cost of solar panels of course). When I asked to be compensated for £250 worth of petrol bills as they only could offer me a petrol hire car, they said no, they offered a crazy £50! It took them 6 weeks to respond to an email as well. I will not be buying another Volvo if this is the experience of after sales.

Stay away from Volvo Finance - awful company!

Volvo Finance is the most awful company I have ever dealt with. They will only deal with customers via email and it is not possible to talk to anyone there. Volvo Customer Service and the Volvo dealership (in Swindon) also say they have no access to the finance team. It has been extremely frustrating to deal with Volvo Finance, and it takes them about 2 days to reply even to simple questions - and always via email. They have given so many wrongful answers, and the whole process is a joke.. except I am not laughing!

I am commenting on Volvo not for the car but rather the money they have kept that I paid in January £35, yes I know not a lot of but a lot of principle. I had to stop driving in April so I was forced to sell my car, I sold it to big Cars no problems, today I contacted Volvo for a refund given I had only had just over 4 months, to my absolute astonishment I was told we don't give refunds, we transfer it the new owner. I explained that sounds very iffy given you dont know who the new owner is and why should I pay for them. I got nowhere it's only £20 but it really is the principal. Terrible been a Volvo man for 40 years.

I waited 5 months for a new Volvo XC90…

I waited 5 months for a new Volvo XC90 plug in hybrid, I took delivery on March 1 2024, the handover was done outside in the rain, which is ridiculous, so I was not able to inspect the car properly, the next day I found faults with the radio, phone system, boot operation and poorly finished leather seat. I arranged with Sytner Volvo Bolton for them to look at the faults on 7 March, the car broke down on the way to the dealer. I called Volvo breakdown service, they said be there in 90 minutes, 3 hours later they arrived. After fiddling with his laptop he said there was nothing he could do and arranged for the car to be recovered, 2 hours later they picked the car up, a total of 5 hours on a very cold day. I contacted Volvo to reject the car as it was not up to the legally expected standards. Two weeks later the dealer phoned me to say that a fault was logged but they could find nothing wrong and agreed that it was an intermittent fault that could reoccur at any time and that I should pick the car up, which by the way still had the original faults. I told them that I had rejected the car his reply was that it had nothing to do with them as I had not bought the car from the dealership but from Volvo UK, the manager confirmed this statement on 2 separate occasions. I have left the car with the dealer together with the keys and all documents. Although I have sent emails and made numerous phone calls I do not feel that I will get a quick resolution. In the meantime I am without a car.

Think Twice Before Purchasing A Volvo

Riverside Volvo Leeds contacted me in July 2023 to enquire if I would consider terminating my existing purchase contract in order to purchase a new car as there was a £2,000 Loyalty payment on offer. I agreed to proceed and signed a new contract in August. I was provided with the total purchase cost and the monthly repayment amount. I was not provided with any document detailing how the total purchase cost had been determined.
I took possession of the new car in December 2023. I was asked to pay a deposit of £10,400 which included the £2,000 Loyalty payment from VCUK, £400 renewal support from VCFS, £2,439 equity in my old car and my cash addition. The dealer explained by email that the amounts owing to me would be refunded within days or a couple of weeks at the most. The car equity portion was refunded within days. As at 10/03/24, I am still waiting to receive the other two payments.
In December, I asked again how the total cost was arrive at. Riverside explained that they were not able to provide this detail as the employee who had sold me the car had left and that his laptop had been wiped. They recommended me to ask for the details from Volvo UK. This I did by email. Eventually, Volvo UK replied that they were not able to provide this information and that I should request the information from VCFS ie: Santander. They stated that they were not able to meet my request and that I should contact the dealership.
At this point, I made a formal complaint to Volvo UK citing the appalling service, the constant passing of responsibility and still not having received an honest answer to my original request. Volvo UK acknowledged the complaint stating the normal complaints procedure.
After four weeks, I received an email stating the investigation was ongoing. After eight weeks I received exactly the same response together with details of the relevant Ombudsmen.
As well as being out of pocket, I am now expected to expend more time and energy by recourse to third parties.
I cannot express the depth of frustration and of disappointment I am feeling. How can a company with a purported global standing have such a shoddy, disrespectful lack of care?

WARNING TO ALL
The worst car company I've ever dealt with and the customer service is appalling. It has cost me thousands buying with them!!!!
They hide behind the words 'estimated delivery' when in fact this is nothing but lies to entice you to buy and to keep you waiting for your order.
I ordered a new car the first week in September with an estimated lead time of 4-5 weeks.
I found out the car didn't even start getting built until the 16th November. Early December I got an email to say my car will be arriving on the 11th of December.
It is now January 26th and still no sign of my order with no ETA. They don't even know where the car is. Absolute Rubbish.
My van hire bill thanks to Volvo, has now surpassed £3000 due to these estimates/lies. However, why do they care? They're still going to get their deposit when the order finally arrives LOL.
I am the definition of LIVID.

You never know when your car will arrive

Look at how bad all these reviews are and seriously do not buy a brand new Volvo, the incompetence of this company is shocking. My car has been in the UK for over a month, I’ve paid my deposit but no one from Volvo is able to tell me where the car is, or, when I can take delivery. You’re just expected to wait indefinitely until it appears. It’s also taken longer than the 5-6 month lead time.

Avoid if you want a new car

If you are looking for a new car I would avoid. They will take your deposit and then the customer service falls completely short. In early December we were told delivery would be early December. Expecting it within days per conversations with Volvo and the dealership, we sold our previous car and as of today the car has still not arrived. The latest update today (15.01.2024) is they are unable to provide an update.

Roadhawk DC4 dash cam issues

I purchased a roadhawk DC4 dash cam.
Volvo UK support told me this was the only dash cam that Volvo will support.
After a lot of effort I finally got one installed at my local Volvo dealership.
We had problems with it, so I worked with Volvo Yeovil to try and resolve these issues.
After three thirty mile round trip's it became apparent there were some rollout issues.
I went to Volvo UK support raised a complaint with them.
They said I need to deal with the dash cam manufacturers directly....What?
I bought the dash cam you recommended, had it fitted at a Volvo dealership and you expect me to deal with the manufacturers directly.
I have no idea how it works, what is required, what I would need to do.
I bought it from Volvo based on their recommendation.
Expecting the customer to have to explain all the issues directly to the manufacturer is unbelievably poor customer service.
The dashcam is only two months old and has not worked properly from install.
I have raised this issue with the motor ombudsman.
The Volvo UK support CEO is as useless as his customer support team

Volvo V60 T6 R Design - Müll

FINGER WEG ❌❌❌Premium Fahrzeug? Ich sage dazu einfach nur Schrott. Dazu mehr.... Ich habe mir vor ca. einem Jahr ( Ende 2022) einen Volvo v60 T6 R Design ( Erstzulassung 06/19) als Leasing Rückläufer gekauft. Die Summe belief sich auf über 35000 €. Ich dachte dabei nicht das dieses Auto so ein schlecht entwickeltes Fahrzeug ist. Ich sage es wie ich es denke. Das Auto ist den aufgerufenen Preis nicht wert , in keiner Hinsicht. Und mit Premium hat dies nix zu tun. Lenkrad fängt ab 120 kmh an zu vibrieren , bis 130 140 kmh. Keiner weiß voran es liegt. (Außer Volvo wahrscheinlich) Es wurde alles unternommen um den Fehler zu finden und zu beheben. Ohne Erfolg. Nagelneue Bremsscheiben vorn nach 10000 Kilometern defekt. Lenkrad und Bremspedal noch mehr am vibrieren. Auf Kulanz ausgetauscht und wahrscheinlich wieder defekt. Lenkrad eiert wieder. Die Vibrationen wurden in mehreren Volvo v60 in dieser Baureihe festgestellt und sind eine erheblicher Mangel in der Entwicklung. Volvo nennt dies Stand der Serie. Diese Mail habe ich schwarz auf weiß nach dem ich eine Beschwerde geschrieben habe. Sitz Fahrerseite nach 40000 Kilometer abgenutzt. Und falls ihr bei diesem Modell ein ruhiges Fahrerlebnis erwartet dann nehmt euch Kopfhörer mit. Dieses Fahrzeug hat auf der Fahrer - Beifahrer Seite starke und unerträgliche Windgeräusche die zusätzlichen auch noch vom Dach ausgelöst werden. Das 8 Gang Geartronic Getriebe ist nur am ruckeln beim Schalten, egal ob warm oder kalt. Kauft euch was anderes. Die Dreckskarre ist keine 10000 wert. Ich bin richtig sauer und verkaufe das Auto wieder. Design ist nicht alles.

My experience with Volvo has been a nightmare

My experience with Volvo has been nothing short of a nightmare. When they collected my car after the lease period, they went overboard in exaggerating every single scratch, leaving me with a staggering £1000 additional bill. The person responsible for evaluating the car seemed more interested in protecting herself than providing a fair assessment. Every minor scratch was marked as a dent or poor preparation, despite the fact that the car was in perfect condition.

The excuse given was that she needed to protect herself, but it felt more like an excuse to extract as much money as possible from customers. Now, instead of enjoying the Christmas holidays with my kids, I find myself embroiled in a tedious and time-consuming dispute process with Volvo to contest these unjust charges. This experience has not only tarnished my perception of Volvo but has also left me vowing never to engage in any future relationships with this company. It's disheartening to see a brand prioritize profit over customer satisfaction and fairness.

Unfortunately I can’t give them a zero

Unfortunately I can’t give them a zero. Tried to buy a new xc40. Signed up for purchase using a pcp, with a loyalty discount. They sold me a service plan for £699. When the email detailing the pcp deal arrived the next day they had charged £999. I complained but they refused to amend the service plan. I subsequently cancelled the order and replaced my Volvo V60 with a Mercedes. Delighted with the new car. Be very vigilant if buying a Volvo, in my opinion the order process is opaque and not as it seems. Absolutely appalling customer service. Buyer beware!!

Na 40 jaar Volvo rijder heb ik een…

Na 40 jaar Volvo rijder heb ik een slechte ervaring opgedaan met Volvo en dan m.n. financial Services.
In 2021 voor het eerst een Volvo geleased na 40 jaar Volvo’s te hebben gekocht en ingeruild. De bekende geweldig service van de Volvo dealer. Dit keer de XC40 via Private Lease. Echter..een auto leasen betekent ook een BKR notering, dat is op zichzelf geen probleem ware het niet dat bij het aangaan van een hypotheek dit van invloed is op het hypotheek bedrag. Dealers vertellen dat niet bij het aangaan van het lease contract. Jammer maar helaas. Wilden wij ons nieuwe huis financieren zat er niets anders op dan het contract te ontbinden. Dat dus gedaan met als resultaat een flinke boete. Na akkoord hypotheek en verwijderen van de BKR notering opnieuw een gesprek met een Volvo dealer aangegaan. Verzoek ingediend -dit alles binnen slechts 2 maanden! - om bij Volvo Finance het verzoek in te dienen het boete bedrag terug te storten of te verrekenen met het nieuwe lease contract. De reactie was spijkerhard! Geen denken aan. Dossier is gesloten. Wat ik niet acceptabel vind is dat een trouwe en loyale klant dit wordt aangedaan. Een hypotheek aangaan is niet niks en voorzichtigheid is geboden. Dat men niet direct een nieuw contract aangaat hangende de hypotheek aanvraag lijkt mij duidelijk. Maar km een klant zo rücksichtslos de deur te wijzen helpt niemendal. De dealer heeft z’n uitstekende best gedaan maar zonder resultaat. Pogingen dit beleid onder de aandacht te brengen bij het management van Volvo Nederland stuitte op “radiostilte”. Jammer maar helaas.geen Volvo meer.
