Great hotel, good arrangements.

My partner and I traveled to Egypt and did the Nile river Cruise our tour operator Emad “Dodi” Fathy showed us all the sights he was a excellent and very knowledgeable and great fun with loads of patience thank you for a wonderful trip

A great hotel chosen in Corfu with a private beach and excellent transport to the centre of Corfu town.Choice at mealtimes was extensive and the dishes were tasty. Very attentive and friendly staff.
Travel Department organised well thought out and interesting day trips including Paxos island and Albania where we visited the world heritage site at Sarandë- so interesting and worthwhile!
Everything was well organised by our tour guides.
Overall a fabulous escorted tour with a good balance between free time and organised day trips.

The need of a great tour guide who knows they stuff

Excellent a magnificent trip with an amazing guide who made the visit very special.

Our recent holiday in Egypt was an excellent experience particularly due to the expertise of our guide Dodi. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history & culture of the country as well as being an expert in managing a relatively large group of people. The Travel Department's itinerary was very interesting with the right mix of cultural activities and free time. I have no hesitation in recommending this holiday to others seeking a great holiday outside Europe without having to go on a long haul trip.

Very competent and able personnel during booking process and during the actual Holiday/Tour schedule.
This was our 4th trip with Travel Dept and hopefully ill do another trip.

The tour guide was excelent

Everything went smoothly from start to finish. As a first time solo traveller, I felt safe and included during the trip. The guides were very informative, and friendly. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Our guide Sofia was fantastic… always very helpful and informative.
The hotel was perfect… food was good.
Excursions were very interesting

The travel department are an excellent company to travel with. I recently did the Tuscany including Florence and Pisa trip and had a really great time. Everything was excellent, from our tour guide meeting us at airport, our coaches, the hotel, the food, the excursions, to seeing us off when we were going home. We were really well looked after. I have travelled several times with the travel department and I would highly recommend to anyone to travel with them.

This was my third trip with Travel Department and it was fantastic. This trip to Norway was my husband’s dream come true. Great hotels, well informed guides, all the transfers provided, smooth sailing all the way. All we had to do was turn up on time. It’s a wonderful, stress-free way to travel, and, we always meet lovely, like-minded people in our group.

The Solo Traveller trip to Croatia was brilliant! Stunning scenery, excellent company with our group, and a very good guide, Nina who was so helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. It is beautiful area, and the trips were very good too. The hotel is modern, with access via steps to the beach and promenades under pine trees where you could walk for miles!

We really enjoyed our trip on the Danube. Very well organised and Marion was excellent and very knowledgeable and helpful.. Food on boat was excellent. One small complaint. I love my morning cup of tea and I don’t drink coffee. Tea nearly always tasted of coffee from the pot.

Booked a group trip to Sorrento with travel department. The tour would have been enjoyable however we did not get any sleep due to bed bugs in our room. Hotel staff were very rude and refused to change our room at first. We eventually got changed and had the same problem in our second room in fact, it was probably worse as in addition to the bugs we were awake all night with the people next door screaming arguing every night. Travel department rang us once to check in after our complaint about the first room but stopped replying when we told them our second room was the same. I have emailed since but not received any reply since the trip ended.

The guide, Sophia, went above and beyond to accomodate large group (50 people), always dealing with queries/requests with great patience and humour. Her knowledge of Catalan history and art history is superb. Sophia is a real asset to Travel Dept on Costa Brava and Barcelona trip!

Hotels were excellent
Food was excellent , the best we have had on a Travel Dept thus far.
All transport was excellent.
Negative:
We arrived in Flam at 4 and departed the following day at 12 noon. As there is little to do in Flam, and all but two of the shops were closed for the season the departure could be earlier and more time spent in Oslo. An earlier dinner than 8 would also be advisable.
